Man I love the style of your videos. No hyped up “5 things” or overly-sponsored content. Just good footage and chill energy. Also, Mad World is a great song✌🏼
At the Salton Sea, I had to wonder if this could be much of our world in a hundred years? Nice to have you back traveling a little. Baby steps, my friend... Don't hit anything, don't let anything hit you, and don't fall off. -a rider's blessing
I’ve been there too. It’s a strange feeling to stand on the shore line of the lake standing on all those dead fish. It feels and smells more like the ocean. You’re not too far from Husky Monument. It’s a cool memorial spot out in the Mojave Desert dedicated to fallen motorcyclist. It is worth the ride. We camped out by it and in the middle of the night all you can hear is the howling of the coyotes.
Hey Tim, cool places. Very interesting to see stuff like that. We are happy your getting out there. Not all adventures have to be world crossing. Most of us can better relate to the weekender stuff. How about a series of this type of adventures where you interview locals so we could learn more about these interesting spots? Anyways keep on exploring. 👍👊
Tim, Can’t tell you how cool it is to see you back out and riding. We have driven by slab city and the Salton Sea so many times and never stopped. I guess it’s time for a road trip
Thanks for sharing this trip. We were in that area several years ago and it was great to see it again through you. You look and sound great so I hope that reflects where you’re at right now.
Tim, It is always a pleasure watching your videos. You have a real relaxed way of touring. No rush, no drama no hastles. I appreciate showing the artwork of (probably) displaced people or folks seeking an alternative style of living. What a shame about Salton Sea. I remember when I was a great place to go…. But now???? Keep that BMW charging its tusk into the misty mist and the dusky dusk so we all can share your adventures.
I really enjoy watching your videos. It's a treat for anyone unable to go out for any reason. Also you have a quiet voice that is so easy to listen to from start to finish. Ride safe 🌻
Family used to go there A LOT. Learned to water ski there. Taught my cuzzin too. Went in high school with friends. once got my Ranchero sand blasted on the way home, towing the boar. Miss it.
Funny, my wife and I were on a trip in my Jeep a couple months ago and checked out the same campground you rode through but was $35 a night. We weren’t on a camping trip this time, but really liked the shade trees, and thought we might stay there some day. We spent the next couple of nights in Julian, and definitely enjoyed some apple pie! Thanks for posting!
your videos really make me want to moto camp. I'm not sure I could access these great places on my touring Harley! Wish I'd have done it when I was younger.
Great video Tim, good to see you out and having fun. Cool to see all that stuff, only seen it in that movie about that guy. Keep the videos coming bro.
Tim if you like the whole desert art-installation thing, have you ever checked out Noah Purifoy's art site in Joshua Tree? It's just north of the park entrance, maybe a few miles up. He was a legit fine artist who built tons of really interesting installations on his property and you can visit. He was unique because there weren't many other black artists living and working out in the desert in the 70s and 80s. The Los Angeles Museum of Art had a huge show of his work a few years ago, they moved a lot of the installtions to the museum, but then they put them back in the desert where they belong.
Nice to see that you are checking out some of my area such as Anza-Borrego and Julian. I’m heading out from San Diego next week for 3 months on the road and you have given me so much inspiration and good advice that I’m sure it will be an epic trip. Thanks again for your amazing videos.
Very nice! I've never heard of these places so thank you for introducing them. Nice klim jacket! I was looking at that very jacket. Would love to know how you like it and any pros or cons you'd like to share.
Have you ever gone up hwy 395 and camped in the Alabama Hills? There's some awesome free dispersed camping. It's a little like camping in Joshua Tree among boulders, but with a view of the Eastern Sierra mtns.
Wow! Slab City is quite a sight, I'm not quite sure if it is a place of dreams.... or nightmares, some of those sculptures looked ...erm... interesting. Thanks for the video, it was a really interesting look at an amazing area.
I have missed a few of your recent videos so in this one I noticed the apparent upgrade to the gopro on your helmet. I take it's the gopro black max lens mod???? Your video quality is fantastic. 73, Mike
Tim love your music choices. Wonderful back drop. Pulls it together real nice. How are you getting on with your Shoei Dual sport helmet? Compared with your last Arai. All else is spot on FTA Adventure. Full on styl’n. Why we love to ride. Ride safe and ride often. Peace
Hello! Another fine video. Thanks for posting it! You mentioned that you were paying for premium fuel in another comment. My GS manual states 89 AKI which is the same as 89 (R+M)/2 octane as shown on the gas pumps. You might consider going with the mid-grade 89 if it is available as it should provide as good performance as 91 octane in a GS. At least help you to save a little bit of money.
Hi Tim, I live in so. Cal and ride out to Salton sea at least once a year for a long distance scooter event (3 laps around the sea) very unique area. I like it. Wondering where that dispersed camp site is? Is it up the mountain above borrego springs?
Hello Tim, what does expensive petrol currently mean in the USA? In Germany we pay 2.10 € (2.21 US Dollars) for 1 liter of premium gasoline (0.26 US Gallons).....Greetings from Michael from Germany!
As long as you stake the tent down good and put some gear in to weigh it down it should be fine. Will probably be loud at night when the tent is shaking though
