This build is amazing, thank you so much! I play with my dad who doesn't really have the gaming ability to weave and do super complicated rotations, and suddenly with this build we are able to do a lot more content together. Anyone who thinks this is a bad thing is just awful.
I checked this build on the PTS server on 06/05/23. Your biggest HA damage was 123k and 175k (Power Overload). This is currently impossible. I ran tests by removing one item from the set to get rid of the fifth bonus and see what the effect would be. I only used HA in my tests. storm master + sergeant's mail: 59k dps sergeant's mail + only 4 items from storm master: 55k dps storm master + only 4 items from sergeant's mail: 42k dps only 4 items from sergeant's mail + only 4 items from storm master: 35k dps. Storm master affects damage from HA marked with "*" in the combat metric addon. Highest HA crit was 101k (with storm master set). Without the storm master kit it was 96K. ZoS ruined something good again. I won't play this game any more. First, I build something for a few hours, and then a patch comes out and ... I'm with nothing.
@@filipmarta4607 Not fake, something is wrong with your setup and what you're doing. Make sure you're in range for hurricane, make sure you're doing full HA's. Do not let go of your left mouse button until you're using power overload and need to reset other skills. I have 1 CP change and twilight matriarch instead of tormentor and I parse 85k which I can likely get another 5k out of it if I just practice my rotation.
This build, while incomplete for me currently, still got 2 pieces to transmute to divines, ia have learned so much I was able to do coral areie on veteran without dying!
I really like this build but sometimes my character slows down like a turtle and it continues until I change zones. and several times I'm blocked that I don't have light, heavy attack or overload, so I just run around and cast Daedric Prey. What am I doing wrong?
hi, i had xynodes lazy sorc build and thought to try your build instead, however now my lightning staff heavy attack bugs out on the 21m dummy, it just does short zaps and pauses as if an enemy mob is leaving combat and running away, all the other training dummies are taking full heavy attacks normally, i reset dummies and reload ui but no effect
Is it worth having one infused neck and 2 bloodthirsty rings instead? Also, why flame enchant and not something like weapon damage? i know that flame enchant would be nice for groups with Encatris Behemoth + the flame status effect wich will benefit a bit more since we already have shock damage to proc the off balance and stuff. But isn't the sorc passive that increases shock and physical damage makes it worth to have shock damage echant instead?
Correct. Here’s the complete list of buffs and debuffs: eso-u.com/articles/guide_on_target_dummies In content, you will get Off Balance in other ways either from yourself or from group members.
On either the dummy and in content you want to maximize your opening burst to elevate your DPS. If the Atro lands on the dummy before the other skills go off, it ruins the burst damage.
Nefas, do the world a favor and test bloodthirsty on heavy attacks. I don't see it working or "scaling". Doesn't matter which dummy I parse on, the dmg from heavy attacks does not increase aside from the slight fluctuation as health goes down. So does blood thirsty for the other skills outdo infused when your main dmg comes from something not being effected by bloodthirsty?
Thank you again for the great content Nefas. I am really bullish on the Oakensorc HA build. I hear the haters, but IMO this single-handedly (get it...single handed...nm...) helped raise the floor of damage while allowing the dual bar super-parse players to maintain their role in dps dominance. What it has brought in is a LOT of players who did not have confidence or were intimidated by the overemphasis on dps parse vs. mechanics. It allows a large segment of the community to enjoy more lower level end game content. Are they going to get a Godslayer with this? Possibly, but probably not unless they REALLY know the mechs and understand the Trial. But, they can very easily clear vSS, or vHoF, or other content that in times past they would be too intimidated to try. Keep up the great content!
Nerf Oakensoul. It makes 2 bar builds nearly irrelevant to 95% of players and encourages no build or class diversity because 95% of players would be better off just left clicking. Oakensoul builds do not need to do more than 80k DPS on a dummy and they will still clear all vet content just fine. People use to whine all the time about how damage isn't everything, and you don't need high damage for vet content. They were right. But now they're quiet now they they're getting 100k with one button. Actually dumb.
@@kiserlee5471 so be better and get 120+k dps on a 2 bar build, then you don't have to worry about people playing a literal game comfortably getting 100k. And if you already do 120k dps and still have a problem with others getting less dps than you just because it's simpler, then you should probably do some self-reflection and ask yourself why you care how others play when they're not even doing as well as you.
I tried the recommended cp setup and it wasn't hitting as hard as my current one , wasted a bunch of gold to check multiple times, I use the wep dmg cp, crit bonus one , heavy attack , and off-balance one.
Since no one's answered in 10 days, ND is better if you don't have enough pen in the group. Usually in 4-man content it's much harder to hit pen cap without light armour since you're unlikely to get alkosh. However, it's not as simple as ND is always > Storm master as ND requires you to be in melee range for it to proc and that's not always feasible or preferable to ranged. I personally run bound aegis flex slotted with hurricane, unstable wall, prey, and double pet for 4-man content because it's less management but still outputs really good damage while maintaining surviability with almost 30k health despite all pts and armor glyphs in magicka. It's a great balance for me, especialyl if you want to go for trifectas
103.4K on console with gAtro, and wrathful instead of exploiter. A bit less at 102k with uwall instead of Hurricane because someone needs to run uWall for off balance. And someone needs to run Crystal weapon for 6% crit chance group buff.
Is there an add on that can alert you when off balance is active? I know there is an animation but I have a hard time seeing it with all the other spell effect spam. Or possibly a way to tone down the spell effect spam?
Just went through 4 WB as practice and I don't see Off Balance at all. Is that coming from someone else? With Unstable wall I typically get 27% (roughly) uptime on Off Balance. With Daedric Prey, Familiar, tormentor, Hurricane, Barbed Trap and Atro or Overload.
Thank you for posting these wonderful builds! Forget the haters. These are fun builds for many, they slap in real content, they're easy to pick up, and easy to learn new mechanics with! I love them 😊
Some people feel that builds like this shouldn't be this competitive because they simplify the game overall, thus making it less fun for them. Bad or inexperienced players will of course enjoy this build, and they should be able to, but I don't think they should excel in the hardest content the game has to offer. They aren't "haters", they just have a different opinion than you on what's good for the game
@Sage I am neither bad nor inexperienced, and these have become my favorite builds (I was parsing 120k before buffs to the dummy)... that's bologna. Having more people in endgame and ready to compete isn't bad for the game either. So what if it's easy? It's a video game, not a job. I just want people to relax and have fun playing harder content! The two bar builds are there for those that want them. But these heavy attack builds are an alternative and fun playstyle to the boring dagger/two hand hybrid meta. I have yet to see one single valid argument against these builds. So yes, not wanting them to succeed is gatekeeping and spiteful, imo.
It's not really gatekeeping, I want there to be content for everyone. As I said people should be able to enjoy these builds, but there's zero challenge in playing them and I think complex builds are a large part of succeeding in the endgame. If you make that challenge optional then you dampen the accomplishment of clearing hard content. Difficulty should be a spectrum that accomodates all types of players. The gear and rotation of this build is mind-numbingly simple and I think you should have to jump through more hoops to get this kind of result
@@sage94 That's still gatekeeping though. Some people ain't got time to grind out the gear or have a complicated bar rotation. If there isn't "challenge" to them but a person enjoys it so they can do the content that they want to do then that's ok. If someone wants to grind gear, have a complicated bar setup and babysit blastbones on a Necro then that's fine too. Making people jump through hoops just because you think it'll do whatever is gatekeeping dude.
It's really not much of a time investment. If you don't have the time to do the content required to make a moderately complex build then why would you have the time to do endgame content? If you can't do one, then you logically shouldn't be able to do the other. That's not gatekeeping, that's just game design. appropriate challenge = appropriate reward. There's a reason builds like this are always controversial in multiplayer games. Where you get enjoyment in simplicity, other people who get enjoyment from complexity see the game's challenge diminished. Both sides want to enjoy the game, I'm not denying that point, but you should acknowledge that there are two sides and advocate to strike a balance. If you play a simple build, you should be able to do simpler content and get rewards fitting of your level of play. It's a foundation of the social and gameplay structure of an MMO
I can see more sets or skills balances to get other classes catch up with the sorc and get more diverse HA meta. HA Builds are here for good, get used to it, embrase the unlimited power of the dark side!
I never tested but from my point of view, the flame enchant is nice since we already have a lot of shock damage, so adding a different element damage type, is worth so we can proc different status effects, wich will add up on the damage. Also, flame can also be buffed by Encatris's Behemoth if you get in a group that someone is using it. The weapon damage would be nice since it would boost up your overall damage, but not only that, any heals as well. But i guess its less damage to single target. I think lightning is still a good option since we have a bonus damage from sorc passive. So i think that would be fine changing it, but flame is better for a lil bit?
*because there is people in the background they are not showing to help buff. Hence the fact, they hide all their buff so it wont show on the screen. You can do the same build but you will not get the same result.*
@@Tewthpaste nah i learned that it was the targeting dummy hes using. It gives offbalance regardless if you are using an ability that triggers it or not.
Power Overload is bugged on Playstation. Sometimes it stays on and doesn't go away. Have to log out and log back in. It's happened to mine and who knows how many other Sorcs.
If using shield in place of BTrap, then one person replaces wall/hurricane with Crystal weapon for group buff. And one or two people with uwall for off balance.
I understand the build, and run everything the way you do, but your damage seems to be double of what mine is. I'm running a Breton Sorc, 64 Magicka, Wrathful Strikes, Weapons Expert, Thaumaturge, and Fighting Finesse. I've got Sweet Sanguine Apples for food buff, which puts me just over 29k Magicka. Is there something I'm missing to be able to hit those over 100k crits? The highest I've managed was just shy of a 60k crit, and my overall DPS on a training Centurion is only about 30k. Any ideas that I can test out to improve?
@@zercherspecialist127 I've already got Divines on everything. I've tried different pots, but nothing seems to be helping. The percentage difference from Epic to Legend isn't high enough for me to justify the cost of upgrading, either. It would be less than a 2% upgrade in crit all the way around. Not worth the several million it would take.
If you started from fresh with nothing in that dungeon and binded every new item from those 40 runs then you'd have at most 20 more runs left before you finish the stickerbook. You're at the finish line!
Depends on group as said on the build page, personally I would go with 5x Noble Duelist's Silk over Storm Master if you need the Penetration in a group setting.
You cant get rid of thief, it's absolutely necessary to keep storm master going. Running duelist is honestly probably stronger, you just won't see a higher number on the dummy because it's already fully armor debuffed. I might have to test it out on some of the non raid dummies
I need some help.. I have this setup but I cant seem to even break 30k damage.. I have literally everything set up just like this with the exception of my belt, sergeant ring, and sergeant necklace which are epic instead of legendary.. everything else is legendary with the same traits and glyphs.. also my gloves are legendary but I havent put divines on it yet ( the only gear that doesnt have divines).. I dont think that those minor differences will make such a huge difference in damage.. The highest damage I have gotten was a little over 27k.. I have the combat metrics add on and I checked my info, and I see that it's my weaves and misses that I suffer with.. but I don't understand how to execute them perfectly, or at least close to perfect..
You won't be hitting off balance. This target dummy activates in automatically I believe. But to activate that normally, you will need to use a skill that procs it, like wall of elements
In content, Shock damage causes concussion. Shock Wall of Elements causes concussed enemies to be off balance. It’s built into the 21mil dummy, that’s why parsing is more with other skills vs uWall. But in content, someone has to bring concussion, off balance, and Sorc 6% group crit chance with DTomb or CrystalWpn on 1bar; frags on 2bar.
There are other class skills for off balance, but the chances are lower or happen less often; such as warden bird needing to be more than 7m away, etc. DK has something as well.
What's a viable 100k+ dps magsorc build using 2 inferno staffs with light attack these days? I get kind of bored using the static 1 bar rotation heavy attack.
Unweaver is a good option as opposed to noble dualist if you are using crystal wep. But storm master still wins. The crit dmg make up for the lack of pen on solo content and in groups providing pen its a no brainer.
Testing on the 3mil, and considering mechs in content, Infallible Aether works best. Noble is slightly better on 3mil, but that’s considering you’ll always be in melee range. Unweaver doesn’t parse as well, and you have to focus stam skill every 10sec in content. InfAeth has crit and mnr vuln that makes up for the lower HA dmg. We ran 2 in StrmMstr and 1 in Infal for vBRP. Another, who got unchained said all 3 were in Infal. Always keep thief and precise. With tank providing around 10k pen, the differences between these sets is small. If 1 in group runs destructive reach for concussion, then the wall uptime is good for off balance. Also, 1 needs to run crystwpn or dTomb for group crit chance buff. In trials, I always use StrmMaster. 4man, coordinate. Solo, I’ve done both StM and Infal. with SgtM, both work well depending on your skill sets. Vet solo arenas, I do no pet with EleSusc and CP for pen based on ele status effects. There are different ways to keep thief and precise for crit chance, but provide pen other ways.
It depends on group composition. If dk but no templar, then physical. If templar but no dk then spell dmg. Otherwise either. Next patch the glyphs are hybridized, but physical for slight stam Regen bonus is probably better since mag sustain is so high from heavies
No there not the best anymore ok for dungeons but not trial's. It was nerfed to oblivion because people complained like usual because apparently they were op. Most you will hit know is 85k But arcanist will hit 100k using 3 skills and its even easier but people dont complain about them being op...
@@thomasjefferson3449 it hasn't been meta in the past because Oakensoul is new and empower only recently got changed. So yeah...the one bar staff builds have been meta, this is just another iteration on it lol
So many people saltly bout 1 bar i dont understand. im aussie and cannot light weave due to poor internet here.. 1 bar has made dps fun for people like me if only thoses salty people played with bad ping they would understand
that's it yes and for pet sorc it's actually a good option since pets take two bars if you want to keep them up at all time so it's a sorc saver, i wouldnt use it on the other classes throu
Sorry for a stupid question if so, but can someone explain why Medium Armor is better for Magica builds than Light Armor? It seems like Armor passives of Medium Armor fit more for Stamina builds... Or it's just for survivability?
I'm not a very high end player so take it with a grain of salt, but I think it is because Light Armor gives Penetration bonuses while Medium Armor gives you damage bonuses. Usually in solo content and pugs the Penetration is great, but when you're playing with good groups you're already going be reaching the Penetration cap from bonuses that your party's giving you, so it just kind of becomes a waste.
For 4p group play, yes. It parses slightly behind stMaster on 3mil with a tank poke. But it will buff the other 1 or 2 dd. I keep precise and thief, but use Valkyn helm for solo or 4p. For solo vet arenas, I use no pets, EleSusc, and the pen CP based on status effects, keeping both SM sets on with Valkyn 1pc. Rips through both arenas. In vBRP or other 4p hard vet with 3 oakensorcs, 1 in InfalAether and 2 in StMstr.
@Ay Caramba there's many builds online. Some focus on direct damage, some focus on dot or aoe. You gotta lookup which build you want on your own I'm nor your mother. There's literally dozens on content creators that make these builds. I'm surprised this nefas didn't look because the dps can be a bit higher with sorc.
@@alexmitchell2622 If I ask you, it's because I haven't seen any HA sorc above 102k dps, and yet I've seen videos of it... it's not about being my mother but about share 😁
