The STRONKEST Russian Premium In War Thunder 

Still have bad memories from way back when it actually was over powered (armor layer behind the mantlet had incorrect values) which was set to something like 150-200mm giving it 350-400mm or so of ACTUAL armor.

i remember when the IS-6 came out along with the RU-251. first game in my T-29 i was run down by a IS-6 swarm. couldn't play my Germans either because of the IS-6 swarm. so like a loser i bought in on it and joined in the fun of a never ending winning streak. it took gaijin forever to fix things like this so i had A TON OF BATTLES in the tank. it became my top tank played on my profile in no time. i'm scum of the earth for buying in on the prime time pay-to-win, i know. but i had to drive that tank because it was so damn fine. i would have bought the thing even if it was at 7.7. those russians knew how to make really good looking tanks.

IS-6 has insane angled armour. I was in T-55A with APFSDS and it bounced of him 3 times. Upper front plate , side plate and once turret. Heckin bs man its hella OP

I dont have the IS 6 or 7 but I have the T 10A from whatever pass it was. I honestly don't remember. But I honestly really like it. ALSO I have the KV1C and yeah that just bounces literally everything I love it

2:40 YES, I'm not the only one, the Panther-A mantle is a dice roll every single time. You either kick ass or get your ass kicked in. Also include the IS-2 mantle (both 5.7 and 6.3 variants), and the T-34-85 when using something like a Jumbo.

I recommend the is6 because you can get down tiered to 6.7 and 6.3 but you will struggle when your up against heat and apds but other than that you are very likely to bounce almost everything in a down tier

The combination of going down to 7.0 and volumetric shells made this thing great again. In an uptier I just play it like a medium, you have the speed and low profile to be sneaky. And ofc in a downtier is press W to win

If you're close enough, the best place to shoot the IS-6 with APHE are the hatches. They give you a 90 degree surface and when your round explodes it'll either knock out the tank or at the very least disable the turret long enough to finish it. It was legit the best strategy for us in SQBs when the IS-6 first released. You really learned how to counter the IS-6 when every battle was XvX IS-6's.

Me, an Italian main: heat-fs to the side plate=BOOM, ammo rack. Also, the KV1c was never a problem for my Brenda bus or 90/53 m41m. Just don't get hit.

Its due to tanks like this that I love vehicles with the go anywhere-kill anything capability like the SU-152, SU-85, Nashorn etc. The 152 can easily kill a jumbo frontally, even at an angle where the long-88 can sometimes bounce.

The IS-6/IS-3 both had a hidden 100mm steel plate behind the manlet, it was removed long ago, because of that it was more efficient to shoot commander's cupoula with any APCBC, nowadays just look at the armour in the hangar an simulate a shot to feel sure where to shoot.

I bought the is6 BECASUE of this. (Kinda) Ur content is insane keep it up. ( Funny and engaging and seems reliable )

honestly I never had a problem with is-6, after first few enconters It got pretty easy to beat, if you have low pen just shoot the gun then track so he wont escape, then flank if safe. I love when is-6 just goes like mad man for me in any british tank at 7.0 range, I also forget a lot when playing UK that u can pen tigers 2 and panthers in front plate XD

There is something that I want you to look at. It's the T114. 7.3 light tank premium for America . personally I really like the tank and I think it's really good even to bring to top tier. Just a random video idea

The M60 series is one of the most iconic tank designs, still in service around the world half a century after it first saw usage, but it gets overshadowed in Warthunder by the Abrams, especially its final American variant. Would be cool to see your opinion on how it fares against the current Warthunder meta!

Ever since I bought the Somua the other day I haven’t been afraid of the IS6

I'm unsure if I was just lucky but I never seemed to struggle against the is6 , probably because I'm too used to shooting the barrel then picking the tank apart. I remember one time it killed me twice in a row and since I didn't have a proper german lineup I took my good ol pz/IV-70 and caught it off guard with a side shot. Even so seeing any russian 122 gun looking towards me is enough to send massive shivers down my spine.

I miss 6.7 british line ups because those apds rounds worked pretty well on taking out the is6s breach and taking out a crewmember along with it

IS-6 can take a surprisingly lot of beating even though I have it constantly uptiered due to having object 120 in the same lineup. I really like it. I also thought 205mm of pen would be suffering but in this game it works really well compared to wot due to most tanks being paper thin at 7 br and up

I've always preferred my beloved KV-220 when it comes to completely broken prems. Sure the IS-6 has some satisfying moments, but nothing compares to taking on panther and tiger spam head on and coming out on top because you're more often than not fighting people who have never had to learn to aim and feel like they don't need to in those machines. Wheeling out something that can very realistically kill them but that they have to think about is so so satisfying after the misery that was 5.0-6.7 with basically every other nation I've played (China, UK, Japan, France)

well i didn't even realize IS-6 was so good and powerful until my friend told me how good it is and you just prove it the reason i didn't realize was IKV 91 from sweden that i used against it :D (400mm pen heatfs + laser rangefinder)

I play the T34, and HISTORICALLY SPEAKING. their armor was heat treated to 600-700 bernell. Everyone else was 300-450 bernell. The T34 had a reputation of being knocked out but the tank still functioned perfectly, because the Soviets heat treated it so hard the armor spalled, even from small caliber shells the crew inside would be killed or wounded by flying spall. The T34 in WT should suffer from the same issues, especially those that were war time produced.

As a Swedish main I don't have to worry until I inevitably miss my extremely easy shot against an IS-6.

Ambient temperature affects velocity in WT with bigger and slower rounds having more noticeable deviations.

IS-6 is the first and only premium I bought and it iss a literal Beast. I made more cash than I could in weeks only in matter of a day with it. Well if they gave this tank the shell IS-3 has which pens 230+ , it would be better. Only problem is that you basically can't do much thing against heat rounds which will probably ammo rack you through hull.

The biggest weakspot the IS6 have is in the front xD Its the in the middel from the front you can see a luke where the driver watch out. You cant miss that :D

The kv1c is at 5.0 now, and I rarely ever play it because my lineup is gone. But it will always hold a special place in my heart; that frankenpanzer taught me ground rb. It taught me weak spots, strategy, angling, everything I needed to know to be a War Thunder tanker. And it netted me a whole bunch of RP and SL while I was at it. I'll always remember my first fifteen kill game, a glorious downier on Port Novo where everything went right 😅 To all the players I caused misery to in that thing, thank you for your patience. You guys are great :)

Honestly the only counters that I have found to work reliably against the IS-6 are the Maus and the funny French HEAT cars.

from my experience playing the tigre 2 i found that you can pen the cupola because it doesnt have volume metric yet and it will kill the tank in 1 or 2 hits

1:38 but that cupola is screaming "SHOOT ME!" is 6 is a beast tho, if you dont get a cupola shot its gg for you

first time i saw an IS6 i got dertroyed but when i got the Leopard 1 with HEATFS. that tank is nothing but a single hit away from complete implotion

Those weak spots are only available for higher pen cannons British mains: "i can pen you anywhere" AVRE and 4005: "i just need a hit" *huge grin*

im primarily a russian player and i couldn't understand your frustration until you compared the mantlet of the t34 and kv1 to a PANTHER. I instantlyfelt you and understood what you were talking about when you said shooting it it feels like a dice roll. Its for that very reason that when im player russia 5.3-5.7(no is-2) and i see a panther i don't go for the mantlet i shoot the gun than the track and then if i can flank to kill otherwise if im unable to flank. THAN AND ONLY THAN DO I RISK A MANTLET SHOT.

I don't have the IS-6 but i like the T-10M even though it has less favorable odds. It's just amazing to use it and kill mid-cold war era mbts with it

When they first added the IS6 and everyone was using it i almost quit the game. I grinded the M56 just so i would have HEATFS that could pen it but then i would get gunned down by their machine guns. Pain
