Hey I made those ,,I'm a laster here at Rios,glad you enjoy the craftsmanship all our boots are made with love for those who love them

I'm not even all that into ropers/western style boots, but man, I can appreciate that craftsmanship. From the horse leather (which is amazing leather for boots and jackets), to the dogger heel, to the fiddleback hump on the waist of the boot - all fantastic. Something like these is probably what I'd get if I were to get a roper style boot for myself. Sadly all of my boots have block heels and one pair has logger heels, but whenever I get some of them resoled, I'm switching to a dogger/cuban style heel. Particularly for my 9268 engineers - stacked leather with that slight curve and a leather midsole will really change them up for the better.

I am appreciating the hell out of these! The heel height looks a tad bit higher than most ropers and most ropers I haven't been attracted to because of the block hee butl with that slightly underslung heel shape makes these look like a very comfortably, wearable and walkable roper boot build. No matter the heel height, the heel undersling always adds a smoother stride to the step (for my feet). Still can't get over that Macore wood color, gorgeous! As you know I will be looking for a brown round toe to add to the collection... Great review, Cj! Thank you for sharing!!!

That is one nice looking boot. Would pick that heel over the standard roper any day, being closer to full cowboy trim, which you really need some day. Horse is a very comfy leather, but not as durable as bovine. Styling!!!

What size do you recommend for someone that wears nothing but sneakers. I am a size ten.

Not a cowboy boot fan except for the Red Wing Abilene 1188, but that is the coolest hat you have by far

Hi CJ, with all of the ROM’s that you have and have worn, do you prefer the true to size without insert, or half size up with insert? I recently tried some ROM true to size and they fit like a glove with the slightest bit of heel slip. I drop in the insert and they are way too snug. I don’t imagine I’d be walking extensively in these. Just wanted to hear your 2 cents. Thanks.
