Yeah...It is bad. I have a horrible addiction. I just love these Rios Ropers. Sand Elk Botton Ropers 11" Shaft Hybrid Sole Handmade in Texas Instagram: @givecjaminute Email: triplestitch3340@gmail.com Twitter: CJCook20
Rios I believe makes all of their boots in Texas. They do own a few different brands or at least manufacture for other brands such as "Anderson Bean" and as you know, "Olathe" I believe are also all made in Texas. There is one of their brands called "Horse Power" which are made in Mexico.
Those are dope, a must have. I just saw the video of you conditioning these after your Vancouver trip, they look even better after they've been beat up (broken in rather).
"why would you want your boots to look like it's got herpes breakout" will forever be imprinted in my brain. Any time I see anyone wear ostrich boots I am going to immediately think herpes breakout......LOL
@CJ Cook, question for you: How is the sizing on these particular pair for you, today? I ask because the above pair are + 1/2 size...you kept the inserts in. Me? I wear a size 10 in D width in Lucchese Kennedy Black Roper and I just purchased a pair of Rios of Mercedes (RoM) in the Burgundy this morning, from your friends down at Planet Cowboy. They suggested I size-up to a 10.5 in D. width. The RoM are on the way and should arrive by Friday/Saturday. I am concerned they will be too long. I will purchase some Lucchese Kennedy in Black Cherry, as they appear more business/office/date nights, but I believe the RoM Ropers in Burgundy are unique, excited to see them in person. I also just went on an eBay hunt for the nearest burgundy belt to match the RoM Ropers. I believe I can wear the RoM Burgundy with black jeans, blue jeans, brown jeans, even Blue, Gray, Brown or Black dress slacks to the office. Appreciate your channel, the professional perspectives, input and detailed information on all boots. I have been exclusively a Lucchese boot-wearer, with 7 pairs in my quiver (not bad for a fellow Yankee in New York). So, moving over to Rios of Mercedes is an interesting move for me. I'm concerned my pair will be too long, if you can answer my question above, much appreciated and cheers.
The 10.5D will fit you perfectly with the full insert. Planet Cowboy is correct. The burgundy is quite lovely in person. Congratulations on the new boots!
@@CJCook thank you my good man. I also say another aspect of the RoM which I find attractive, is the functional feature of the rubber, non-slip insert on the sole. I only wear Allen Edmonds dress shoes, and custom order their double-tap sole for that reason. In NY, with our rain, ice and snow on the way, rubber on the sole is huge. I sincerely appreciate your channel...I watched 15-20 videos on Lucchese Ropers and RoM Ropers. I had ordered the Lucchese Goat Roper in black and sent it back for the same boot in the Buffalo Leather. Your video showed the Buffalo is like fine, glove leather feel/quality. Psyched for the Rios to arrive. Will let you know about sizing.
Hey CJ, question for you. How do you compare the build quality of the Rios to the Lucchese boots? Are they on the same level, better or worse? Are the boots just as comfortable as the Lucchese boots? I ask because they say that Rios is not the same quality as the older Lucchese Classic Handmade boots but I would beg to differ! What are your thoughts my friend? Since you own both brands.
Hello Jose, I have to say I like the Rios ropers more than the Lucchese ropers. I like the build of the Rios ropers more. The Lucchese have a dressier vibe and the Rios have more of an everyday grind on the streets or ranch. Basically it's White Collar (Lucchese) vs. Blue Collar (Rios)
@@CJCook Thanks CJ. and that makes sense to me. I am looking into getting a pair of Rios for myself. That is the reason I was asking. Thanks for taking the time to answer my friend and best of luck to you on all your future videos plus boot purchases.
Rios, Blackjack, Lucchese Classics are all top Shelf. It comes down to which brand fits your foot the best. As for vintage Ive heard they're superior as well idk maybe they were all built to certain standard? Now we have boots all across the board as far as quality. I think there's some truth to that, Thats why you still see 50, 60 even 80 year old boots still around today.
@@CJCook thank you for your quick response. I’m also expanding my boot collection from Red Wing. Today I take delivery of my first Ropers from Tecova…. Hopefully I got the size right 🤣. My next boots will probably be Rios of Mercedes Napa
CJ Cook stratoliners look absolutely beautiful. they have nice cowboy looking hats, but i'm too northern to rock a cowboy hat. the stratoliner seems to have such a versatility
