Anne is my favorite royal. She’s a smart, savvy, unspoiled, witty as hell, get-on-with-it kind of woman, who would’ve made an amazing Queen. I also very much respect for the way she chose to raise her children. It’s obvious both of them adore her.
@@DaveInBridport No, not all children adore their parents and not all children who started out doing so keep the adoration as they grow older. Considering you told me to shut up - which only children do - you’re not yet old enough to realize it.
The hardest working Royal, more balls than her three brothers & definitely her Father's daughter ! Sincere condolences to the Queen and her family on their loss. Prince Phillip was inspirational. May he Rest in Peace !
@Bita Bishopp not necessarily. They have jobs. They’re important to the commonwealth. They keep the commonwealth together. Which is important to all Commonwealth Nations.
If royal succession were based on fitness and aptitude for the job rather than birth order, there's no doubt she'd be the best one to step into the Queen's shoes when her mother is gone and I bet her parents would privately agree.
The law of succession has been amended to allow the eldest child, whether male or female, to succeed as monarch, but was reserved for future successions and not this one, on this score she would not succeed to the throne. If Charles were to die before the Queen the next in succession would be the Duke of York, God forbid ! ! ! We should jump a generation and have William to succeed to the throne, apart from Anne he is the best of a bad bunch.
@@colinnewton5254 No, even if Charles dies before Liz, then William is still next in the order of succession. Once a line is established, that line is followed through before going back to the next oldest line. So it's Liz, Charles, William, George, Charlotte, and Louis. IF for some reason that entire line were to all disappear for some reason, THEN it would go back to the level of Charles' heirs, which would be the line of Henry, then Archie. If they were out of the picture, and since there are no other heirs descended from Charles, it would then go to the next heir in Charles' generation, which is Prince Andrew the Duke of York.
@@marysueeasteregg Weeell.. the unborn don’t count, because they aren’t people yet. But yes, once born, any new babies would slot into the appropriate lines.
A strong, intelligent woman. A workhorse, a lover of the natural world, and a quick wit. She’s the only royal I’ve ever seen in person, and she has quite a presence.
@@mikeoxmall3847 Indeed it’s the way, they relentlessly hound people, illegally hack their mobile calls, often publish outright lies as facts and then the minute people fight back attack them even more and hide behind “freedom of the press” to justify why nobody should be able to hold them to account.
Kat brown, they did hound her! If you are riding a horse over a huge jump, and a journalist leaps out with flash photography, you would tell them to naff off!
It's better she told the press to 'naff off' as there are many more expressions in the English language she could have used instead but which are definitly not the sort of expressions a lady should use :) !
Exactly!!! Princess Anne is the TRUE feminist. She’s the REAL deal. She functions at full-tilt without complaining. She’s not fragile nor mental. She just gets on with it. She could care less what the tabloids write. She functions just as the Queen Mother said to do. It works!!! Why fix something that’s tried and true??? Anne is what a modern day feminist is all about. NO WHINING ZONE for her, and Zara is exactly the same. They don’t seek the limelight for self-adulation. They’re confident in their own right. Now, THAT TRUE FEMINISM.
You both make very interesting points. Rich glamorous young women like Diana, Meghan and many others attract a lot of interest from the press, and from social media. And a lot of it is bitchiness from their haters. Princess Anne probably falls more into the category of strong powerful women like Theresa May and Angela Merkel. No one is trying to bully these tough old women and people respect them rather than envy them.
“She COULDN’T care less for....”. The phrase is she could NOT care less what people think about her. She does NOT care. Why oh why do people like you, always get it SO wrong in saying ‘she COULD care less”?? Could care, means she DOES care what people say about her. You obviously mean she COULD NOT. Well, SAY SO! Couldn’t, Could NOT are less what anyone thinks of her.
melody Hart Charles is there for the Queen and has been doing more and more of her duties perfectly for the past 5 years, Anne would have hated being the heir, it would have placed far too many restrictions
@@b.h.2819 i've been a fan of Princess Anne for over 50 years, if she had been the heir to the throne she would have had to be careful about what she said and did, she couldn't have spoken to the press the way she did and the pressure would have been on her to make a suitable marriage and yes she would have hated it, over the last 50 years she has said things
I love the old videos of the royal family when the children were younger. You can just see the love they have for one another & the happiness they feel being together. I love Anne's strength & the Queen is so proud of her little family. It's wonderful!

Yeah, I have absolutely no love for the Royals but Anne is alright. She does far more engagements than the rest of the royals and seems much more down to earth than the rest of them.
I think the rules at the time meant any male heir would take precedence over a female heir. The reason Elizabeth was queen was because she had no brothers.
Princess Anne would look pretty with some blonde highlights in her hair and a new hair style. It would soften her look. It would show her sweet and kindness. She works so hard!
I've ALWAYS wondered that! And have you noticed that NONE of them have ever changed their hairstyle in adulthood? You never see her with a plait, ponytail, bun... always that same whippy quiff, lol!
@Sunshine Irby welp she got that old drandma hairstyle in her early 30s. Even Selena Gomez would look 20 years older with that. Anne even stopped wearing makeup. Even her clothing style became conservative
She was around my end couple months ago, Paying tribute to some gardens, a few minutes away from my house - My Dad said he met her when she was just a girl, she was on horseback on a beach not far from where he lived back then in the Kingdom of Fife
I believe it's important to note, that at the time. The British media was a nasty little group, truly a group of fowl people. I believe it is it was around the 1960s or 1970s that it lost its dignity.
@Rob dweeb. NHS staff choose their job geezer. NHS staff live for the job and don't do it for money.... More fools them.... 😉 I would go on strike all the time, and have the country by the cajones.... But they don't, they plod on, as skivvies for the country, while my hygienist is up, by 25 quid. It's great to go off topic, eh.....
But would you? Honestly? All the strict rules, the world in on everything you do. No Freedom to just do whatever you feel like doing that day? We all saw the unhappiness Diana had to go thru. No thanks! Although enough to pay your bills and a little extra would be just great.
@@coffeepandacat there probably wasn’t much in it, all things considered. Both had cold (by our standards) aristocratic childhoods, both had heartbreaks with men. Anne is undoubtedly tougher than Diana was, and probably also more mentally stable.
I am unfortunately old enough to remember that decades ago when she was younger, Princess Anne had a reputation for being rude, and surly. At that stage she was a very much disliked member of the Royal family. I am pleased to see how much she mellowed in her later years, as well as gaining much respect from the public. I am telling this from the point of view of being Australian.
A down-to-earth, no nonsense woman who just gets on with her job and her life without feeling the need to broadcast her every move to the world via the media, and who makes a real difference to people’s lives through her many patronages and charities.
I believe the Queen was a good mum. But she is the Queen and she can't be acting like commomer mums,I get why the Queen had to be like that in public and more important so did her children
The royal family has always been and will continue to be a solid foundation for people to look up to. Prince Phillip will be greatly missed. The royal family are truly an important part of people's lives and are always admired for their strength. Darlene Sabga
It's is good to see these pictures of Princess Anne as a young woman...She is a wonderful person, who has deservedly earned the respect she has globally...She is a fine example of everything we admire in people everywhere...What I enjoy the most with these older photographic and audio accounts of her life..... Is her incredible beauty...Wonderful bone structure, elegance and a style all of her own....Thank you for reminding us all...Great to look back on! Cheers from New Zealand with, respect.
Ive always thought she was pretty looking . Princess Anne is a strong headed woman. She just can't stand the spotlight & can you blame her. I have often mistaken her for the queen in older pictures, she is very much like her mum. She is a stunning woman.
It doesn't matter what anyone desires. The line of presidence is set by law. Monarchy is not a popularity contest. Prince Charles is next, followed by Prince William then little Prince George.
Anne is amazing! She knew that though her parents were constantly going away to different contries they loved her. Anne is a tom-boy and she still is! Skipping uni shows that she is determined towards us. I love the crown so much!! Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman are stars!! And I miss Philip R.I.P
I wish I had! I met Diana as a child but would trade that experience! Edit: That’s not a slight on Diana, ftr. But she slighted me at 10 years old and I’ve never forgiven her. 😉
@@mysmirandam.6618 I was in the children’s cast in a production of Carmen. She came to see it and expressed a wish to meet the cast and the children after the show - and particularly the youngest child, apparently, who happened to be me. Cue MUCH excitement from adults and frantic organisation for us because it meant we’d miss the last train home. Our chaperone managed to hire a coach and when the curtain call was over, the cast congregated on stage in a semi circle. Diana came onto the stage. She spoke briefly to the conductor and a couple of the singers. I remember someone saying “ANNND here are the children!” and she glanced across...then continued her conversation. 😂 She left without coming near us. It later transpired that she’d considered a photo with the youngest child but that she thought we were ‘quite tall’. At the time, I WAS slighted! I felt a snag of not being good enough. Later, of course, I realised it was all about PR. But if she’d KNOWN how hard it was for our chaperone to organise that coach...! 🤣

she would be a great queen, if she were the first born. Amazing woman, tough and to the point, hardworking, authentic, yet very compassionate. I am sorry you lost your dad, Princess Anne, I know the feeling. Condolences.
Are you sure? I always thought she was second in line but I think that is more of an assumption. I'm not really sure how succession works. I'd be grateful if you would take a few minutes to educate me, if you don't mind.
@@chriswilson8734 women get ignored, and it goes to the men. It's been changed recently, to allow the daughter of William, to succeed in proper succession, without being missed out. History would have been shed loads better, if it hadn't of ignored female siblings. When did you ever hear about Anne being Queen? Never, as she is certainly NOT, second to the throne. Simple really. 😉
@@aapee8661 she was before her younger brothers were born. If "women g[o]t ignored," how do you suppose her mother became Queen? And unless George predeceases her, Charlotte isn't going "to succeed," either "in proper succession" or not.
@@aapee8661 Oh, please. When did women get ignored? Mary II and her sister Anne were both Queens Regnant. Victoria was Queen Regnant, and the only reason why she came into being was because her cousin Princess Charlotte--who would have been Queen Regnant--died in childbirth. By your "thinking," the only woman who was "ignored" was Victoria's daughter Vicky because she was older than the future Edward VII (I guess becoming Empress Consort of Germany, Queen Consort of Prussia, and Princess Royal of the UK weren't good enough by your standards). And this Anne WAS second in line, before her younger brothers were born. Almost all of the Britain's Kings were OLDER SIBLINGS, if they had sisters at all. Being Monarch is a SH!TTY job that no one in their right mind wants; this Queen is said to have started praying for a baby brother as soon as her uncle abdicated. Sweden's Heir Apparent fights an eating disorder--how much do you want to bet that awareness of her future role contributed to that? I suggest YOU familiarize yourself with some history ("Simple really. 😉"), rather than going on a rant about how women are supposedly given short shrift. VICTIM MENTALITY.
Perhaps, the people should ask anne what happened to princess elsa? Her and maximus(nederlands) were the last people to see her alive...as they escorted her to see HM King stephan of sweden....
