That plane probably got hundreds if not thousands of man-hour behind it, in the construction, the design, maintenance, cleaning, shipping of parts, admin, regulations, ressource extraction, etc. Let’s just say its not for nothing that even used barely in the norms planes cost a fortune. It’s like when you see new car owners of luxury/specific models that crash their brand new car within the first 100km, a total waste and disrespect of everything behind it, but at least in its an accident or total carelessness. What he did was more akin to someone that shot a somewhat rare animal with a big gun in a touristic area to take a picture in front of the carcass and let the meat rot.

You said it yourself, the "prison cell for many years" thing isn't going to happen. The judge knows if he's sentenced more than two years, the courts will get tied up with his appeal, so the most pragmatic judge will sentence him to 23 months in jail. He's rich and connected, though, so I'd bet on his getting probation.
@jayrod9979
@jayrod9979 9 месяцев назад
Im thinking 366 days... with no probation once he's out. Good behavior and he'll be out in 9 months. He may be offered less time or even no time with lengthy probation... I think if he takes probation he will violate so it would wise for him to just do the time. Doubtful he will make a wise decision... However im sure Trevor's mommy and daddy bought him an excellent lawyer so you may be right and he will just get a slap on the wrist. If he goes to prison it will likely be a minimum security white collar prison besides. However now he's a convicted felon he will no longer be able to own a gun and many countries (ie Canada, Japan) will not allow him to visit.

Brain damage. The video said he had 20+ concussions during his snowboarding career. One of the most common symptoms of those is impaired decision making, failure to think about consequences and excessive risk taking behavior. It also lines up with the way he presented himself and behaved in the apology video and him lying to the feds.

Yeah... a 13 year old girl reported me and it looked like I tried violating a sense of privacy going for an angle that makes girls legs look longer... They come and searched my stuff and I explained I wasn't trying to do anything illegal, just something a modeling friend had taught me about how to cast models in photos better... whoops... I stopped going for angles like that and just enjoy full body shots of people now... Nothing bad happened... as I didn't violate a sense of privacy.. Just a prosecuting attorney trying to scare me away from my one safe avenue to deal with my sexual preferences... which is minors females... instead of getting set up for trying to meet up with one that's actually a cop whos getting paid by her to catch me wanting sex instead of them just Blatantly flaunting there teenage beauty in these yoga pants and leggings... This story is like the "if a tree falls in the middle of a forest and nobody's around to hear it, does it make a sound?" question. What I mean by that is if he hadn't posted the video about it, he would have never been caught, and I guarantee nobody would have cared. Yeah, it was illegal, but if affected nobody. They're just prosecuting him to make an example out of him. So, I actually kinda agree with him, he didn't really do anything wrong from a moral standpoint, only from a legal one.

So we should let people do this type of stuff then... not like anyone was hurt? Yet? It's reckless and could easily kill someone...start a forest fire..ya planes explode blah blah. Just sayin...if 1 can do this.

@@jealousmuch888 the plane was deliberately designed to crash, including rationing out just enough gas to run out midflight; one of the fuel lines was even disconnected. There was little to no chance it would start a fire. It's, like, still super reckless? Still technically a felony. But do I particularly hate him? No.
@BubbyBoy
@BubbyBoy 9 месяцев назад
@@jealousmuch888 it's probably the most apathy-inducing federal crime Trevor could have pulled as a stunt. I don't condone deliberately crashing a cheap dud of a plane and lying to feds, but I don't have it in me to get all that worked up over it, either. Im more upset Virginian courts dropped Chris-Chan's incest grape charges for lack of evidence.

@@BubbyBoySome people feel more strongly about such reckless behavior. This time no one was hurt, but it rarely continues that way. I can see why people would hate him. I definitely hate dealing with people like him, doesn't quite get me to hate him personally 😂 But I get the angle.
@BubbyBoy
@BubbyBoy 9 месяцев назад
@@sourgreendolly7685 I *do* see how people would get mad at Trevor for doubling down on the stunt as a totally real series of events. But unlike other obnoxious fake stunts or pranks, it wasn't milked for anymore than one or two more videos. Super suss he used his dead friend as pretense for the stunt, but that's the most I can fathom being mad at him over. And what detracts from the supposed 'recklessness' angle of the story is the sheer premediation of the stunt. He cheaped out on the plane and stripped it of any extraneous parts so nothing can negatively affect impact, he only had enough fuel to get him midair, he had an extra drone film the plane crashing, and had a group of his buddies recover the wreckage and retrive him from a very specific part of the wilderness. I'd understand being mad at how fake the 'wild' nature of the video was on top of the lies, but to say he was reckless is just not there. If anything, youd almost believe he took every safety precaution to make sure this crash had the least impact while making it seem believable it was a real crash. Im not going to defend the man and invalidate anyone's hatred for him; he used his dead friend as an excuse to orchestrate a planned stunt that was passed off as real. To say he endangered people's lives is laughable, though, unless wasting the fed's time is considered endangerment. There are other ways to frame what happened to actually make him accountable. In an era when pranksters and the jackasses have long since passed, and replaced by mentally ill IRL streamers who directly assault people and go on drug-fuelled escapades as public nuisances, Trevor is a very milquetoast future felon who would only get the felony because of how seriously the federal government takes deliberate plane crashes of any severity after 9/11, which happened over 22 years ago.
