Fun fact: the record company contract was not with the Style Council. It was exclusively with the Weller’s ( Paul and his Dad) Mick was effectively a hired hand and didn’t have a record contract. Your welcome. 😅
Sounds like a sound and logical business move . The Style Council were always a flexible band of musicians that changed over the years, and were probably always hired and fired by PW .

@@TravisBickle1963 They're talking about 'Wanted', which came out as a single autumn 87. Also Fleetwood Mac's 'Little Lies' didn't come out til 87. Finally, Weller had blonde hair for all of 86.
