Not mentioned that in Arsenal he replaced non other than Patrick Vieira!

Vieira almost never gets talked about but he was a legend 💯 and for a young Fabregas to replace him without skipping a beat speaks volumes

Saying his move to Barça was a mistake is a little disrespectful considering he never won a league title at Arsenal, he won many titles at Barça. He didnt win the UCL there but nor did he at Arsenal or at Chelsea

It was a mistake for Barca since they already had two great midfielders in their prime. And they didn’t win the UCL while he was there.

@@blank1933 how did they ruin him? At Barça he was in his best form, played almost every game and scored many goals. When he was there he was 2nd highest scorer, scoring more than Villa and Pedro

How about a video explaining why you would say things like "England have bottled a final" when no one expected us to win and yet when it's someone like Inter Milan who lose a final to Man City it's not about "bottling" but about getting your knees brown for Guardiola? Inconsistency or hypocrisy or purposeful agenda?

@@RaymarFootball I never said Southgate was great. I'm disputing the angle that you talked about "England bottlimg it" but yet you never said that about Inter, even though they weren't expected to win a final against City either, then you go change the title of the video "how Southgate tricked people", which he did no such thing, if you actually bothered to follow English media or fan opinion. But I take it, you only want to give a "balanced view" if it involves European, Asian, Americas players as examples but have a slant against the English.

I don’t really see the whole argument of Guardiola playing him in a deeper role at Barcelona. First of all as far as I remember he was often playing that false 9 position in 2011/12 leading up to the the 2012 Euros where Spain used him the same way. Second of all you have to remember that Fabregas played 3 seasons at Barcelona and only the first one was under Pep. 2012/13 was under Tito Vilanova and 2013/14 Tata Martino was the head coach. You could have at least mentioned that cause I feel like many people watching this video will now assume Fabregas played the majority of his time at Barça under Pep while it was only one season.

This man achieved more than everyone in these comments including myself cause Arsenal gave Vicente del Bosque insight on dynamic he is and what he did at Chelsea is the most underrated part he played like De Bruyne and Alonso at the same and picked passes like Mesut Ozil for what's next should be Vicente Del Bosque and Pedro Rodriguez very underrated two

Cesc left barca in 2014. In 2015 xavi retired. If he stayed he would have xavi's place. He would absolutely great on that role

Honestly not only was this guy imo the most talented central midfielder I ever saw of his generation, but this guy was probably the most talented teenage midfielder of maybe the last 20 years. It's such a shame his move to Barcelona didn't take him to the level his talent had, but that's not to say he did;t retire as a legend and a world champions with a truck load of trophies.

@@prometheustv6558 The sad thing is that he was so versatile he could have fit in with that Barca team beautifully but the four guys at his positions - Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, and Messi (ok, Messi was a lot more) were marginally more appropriate at each position. Cesc ended up being a world class utility player but it wasn’t enough for his huge talent. We don’t need to weep too much for him. His career was fantastic.

How did his career downfall exactly? He was a world class player in Barcelona in his first 2 seasons 1st season he had 40 G/A 2nd season he had 31 G/A 3rd he felled a bit off but he still had 31 G/A and most of this games he played as a center midfielder And then at Chelsea he had another world class season With 33 G/A He fell off in 17/18 season not in 11/12

Dude, you're oversimplifying things. Cesc may have been successful with the Spain NT, but G/A is NOT all there is to football. Everyone at the time knew, that Xavi and Iniesta were the main guys on those teams (which of course had many other great players, among them Fabregas). At Barca, Cesc failed. Plain and simple. We do not know who is at fault (Cesc himself, Pep, the board etc.), but you are making it sound like Cesc was that hidden gem at Barca (again citing those G/A numbers, which are not everything in football) and was mistreated by Pep. The reality is that Cesc could not bench Xavi (who was pushing early 30s at the time) or Iniesta (who was exiting his prime when Cesc left in 2014). Cesc played under Pep, Tito and Tata at Barca and eventually was sold when Enrique became the boss, that's 4 different managers. And here is the thing: Cesc was never the type of midfielder Xavi or Iniesta were, he was more of a attacking midfielder, that's why he had more G/A (ofc he was really talented as well, but he did play a different role). So he could not replace them at the Barca system. The thing is he could not play this role at Barca, because the main creative outlet up front was none other than Leo Messi, in his prime. In other words, there was no room for a player like Cesc at Barca.

he couldn’t replace de bruyne’s role at man city, no one can, de bruyne is the greatest assist provider of all time, even clearing messi’s assist ratio, having a 0.41 assist ratio (i think) or something of the sort
