The Suicide Squad - Ratcatcher 2 vs Starro Scene (1080p)

I was not ready for how sweet and heartfelt this movie would be.

A movie that has a giant alien Starfish being devoured by a swarm of rats made me cry harder than most drama movies.

1:25 I love how she puts her arm over Idris Elba's character to reassure him since he's scared of rats, it's cute

“I was happy, floating, staring at the stars” Defiantly a tragic villain.

To Starro, this was the equivalent of a human being eaten alive by ants.

A movie that makes you cheer for the team but also feel for the villain.

They were saving Taika Waititi's performance as a surprise. And they sure surprised us when he appeared as Ratcatcher 1!

I just realized: Starro, a being who’s power is to mind control people was defeated by Rat Catcher 2, a human with the ability to control rats. Starro views humanity as evil and wants to control humanity In order to destroy everything in an attempt to lash out at the world that wronged him. Rat catcher 2 views her rats as companions and friends, She never looks down on them. And despite being treated like garbage by the world, She uses her companionship to SAVE the world. Both have the ability of mind control, But one uses it to end humanity, And one uses it to save humanity

Who knew that an army of rats taking down a giant alien starfish would've been such an emotional scene? I'm so glad I got to experience this film in theaters and cry 😭

I like the small detail of her trying to comfort bloodsport as the rats run over him. The father daughter like relationship they have is awesome.

Congratulations James Gunn. You were the first person to make me cry in a movie for the first time.

what many people also don't notice is that in the first Suicide Squad movie, Harley tells the Joker that she don't know how to swim and kinda doesn't like the water (probably because of her trauma from the vat/acid during her transformation) yet in here, she dives head first into Starro's eye and is able to hold her breath underwater. She gets a glimpse of how beautiful the underwater is and how peaceful it is with all the creatures inside it. She just conquered another fear/trauma of hers.

Starro’s final words always get to me he never deserved any of this 💔

Just like Yondu’s funeral in Guardians 2 I love how James Gunn manages to throw a tear jerking scene into an otherwise action comedy. Bravo

The fact that i even got to empathize for a character like Starro is astounding. What a brilliant movie

Something I never noticed before in this scene is that Starro is genuinely panicking and terrified as the rats crawl all over him. Kinda feel sorry for Starro, he didn’t deserve that fate.

The soundtrack is so reviving!!!

Ratcatcher 2 is the heart, the soul, the HERO of this movie! 🐀

I love that line from Starro because it's more than just "um actually Starro was not bad." it's about how he can't really be blamed for doing what he did given the circumstances. which is exactly the point of the Squad members. They're awful people in a fucked up situation but most of them are that way due to events in their past, Harley, Ratcatcher, Polkadotman, Peacemaker and more. It's a movie about weird individuals who've suffered a lot, and Starro reminds you at the end that he's no different. And it's not as if it was thrown in at the last second. It's pretty clear throughout that Starro was a victim in this movie. Gunn really does know how to make a tightly written movie that stays consistent and compelling within its themes.

Rare instance where the sequel is so much better than the first one.

Fantastic scene. Ratcatcher 2 saves the world with a Harley much better realised in this movie and not sexualised. Smile inducing cameo from Taika, one of the best directors around today. Loved Ratcatcher putting a protective arm around her teammate..it’s the little nuances that make these things.

Before I heard Starro's last words, I said "GO SQUAD!", but his last words made me cry more. The government took him and all he went through... it just makes me wanna cry more, with him deserving to live happy, staring, floating at the stars. Also, MAN the likes. Thank you so much, I never had this amount of likes.

This scene stuck with me… I moved to Porto a few months back, and it hasn’t been the easiest of times. One night, I was feeling really down, and went on a stroll. There I was, alone, and at one point I come across the clérigos tower, I look up, and out of thin air I remember that quote, I remember I have a purpose. So now that’s jut what I do, every time I feel down, I get on the bus, go to the tower, look up, and every time I see that ratcatcher duo telling me I have a purpose

I cry everytime I watch this scene. I loved the fact they put rats in a good light. They are truly amazing animals and pets. I love them. I'm crying again

One cool detail you can find at 0:39 is that Cleo (RatCatcher 2) puts her arm on BloodSport, re assuring him because he has a fear of rats. In all seriousness, this movie was fucking awesome. Im glad that the character with the most minor presence could prove themselves. Personally my favourite character

I've seen this scene like a million times and it STILL doesn't fail to tear up my eyes.

My favourite scene in the entire film. Everything just fits perfectly, the story, the music, everything. It brought a tear to my eye when I saw it in the cinema, especially at the flashback with Ratcatcher and her father. It reminds me of the times me and my father used to have together before he passed away. Simply beautiful. 🥲

Well done, Gunn. You managed to do something as ridiculous as the death of an alien starfish be a truly emotional moment. Also, Gunn should be acknowkedged for doing something in his films that not even Christopher Nolan did: Acknowkedge and embrace the fact that many elements in comic books *are* weird and crazy, instead of ditching the crazy weird shit for a more realistic vibe, and create good comic book movies *througth* this craziness and not in spite of it.

Starro has like 5 lines in the whole movie, but is an incredibly sympathetic villain.

Someone else said it but I really love how she puts her hand on Robert almost like she’s assuring him that she’s not going to leave him and that she’s going to be there unlike his father.

That moment when a sequel to a bad movie hat you absolutely did not expect to be good makes you teary eyed at the dumbest sounding character fighting a giant starfish.

The way Taika Waititi and James Gunn make me love a character (as well as appreciate Ratcatcher 2 all the more) with just three lines of dialogue in a single scene is absolutely unbelievable.

This scene is just beautiful. It makes me tear up everytime and the soundtrack is stuck in my head forever.

I love the waltz music in this scene and the way it fades in and crescendos at the climax. Fantastic character arc for the rat catcher 2 as well.

Ya know as funny as this movie is it has lots of depth and heart.

When it comes to this 'emotional' scene, I'm absolutely certain that her father would be very proud of his daughter.

Quite an accomplishment making us sympathize with Starro.

What makes this so emotional is she realizes that her dad teaching her this about rats ended up helping saving the world and she realizes this was always her purpose.

Poor Starro. This makes you realize who the real monster is… Humanity.

The scene with her and her dad got me emotional. The fact we degrade rats as these creatures that shouldnt exsist at all is just sad. There absalutly no different than a cat or dog simply trying to survive in this world.

James Gunn probably made the most heartfelt scenes in any Superhero movies in the last 5 years, including this year's GOTG 3.

The scene of Harley swimming among rats in one eye is just beautiful

They are sitting at the top of Clérigos Tower and overlooking Porto in Portugal, one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. If you haven't visited you are truly missing out 👍👍

Harley's dive into the eye is just cinematically beautifully majestic and disgusting.

I love how Ratcatcher is holding Blood Sports shoulder trying to comfort him while he is cowering from the thousands of rats climbing onto him knowing that this must be a horrifying for him to experience again.

That scene define what comic movies must be. The scene is terrorizing and silly - a starfish giant monster devoured alive by rats. BUT, with the song, with the colors, with the crazyness of the protagonists, you enter in a mad magical world of their minds and it all seems beautiful and normal. That is Superheroes comics. Touching without taking itself too serious but without making self loathing jokes like marvel movies.

Rat-catcher2 was one of the strongest Character in this movie yet so compassionate, sensitive, vulnerable and kind. Plus, she was okay with a man saving her. What a great Character, great writing! When we talk about strong female characters she is what we are talking about not Rey from Star Wars. As a woman she is a character that I have been craving for, I feel I can relate to her. 👏👏👏Bravo to all the writers. Funny enough, Harley Quinn was also written kinda the same way, it's great.

As an owner of pet rats and mice, this scene is useful for making sure my tear ducts still work...

That had to of been a super painful death. Those rats were literally eating its optical nerves and brain.....

Idk what will happen in Spiderman: No way home yet but among all the comic book movies I have seen this year this scene stands out as most favourite one.

Starro the Conqueror was taken down by two of the most badass ladies in the DC universe! Now that's entertainment! 👍👍👍 I hope Ratcatcher 2 gets her own movie. And that was nice of her to put her arm around Bloodsport as the rats were swarming around him.

But if they've survived this long, then clearly they have a purpose. And if they have a reason to exist, then so do I... and so do you. Never forget this: If a rat's life has purpose, then everyone's does. And if a life has any value, then it is a life worth fighting for. That is the lesson rats teach us. This is the movie which turned me from marvel fan to dc fan. I don't know why , but i think this movie was definitely better than aquaman and this movie had had a lot of emotions. I think this is the best movie in dc , funny and emotional at the same time.
