I don't get the whole Binding Vow hate from Weeb. It's pretty obvious that self made binding vows aren't permanent unless you specify it is (like never using a sword again). It's a matter of wording, and so long as it's based in Cursed Energy it's game. Anyways, Todo probably made a binding vow or altered the original to remove the ball hitting the metal part of the Vibraslap. Meaning it probably has reduced range, which doesn't matter in the current context of the fight anyways. Only to lead into Todo making another binding vow which could be anything (never using Boogie Woogie again would be a particularly potent one) to increase the range to reach Hana.

@@sand2358yeah, he’s kinda misunderstanding them, you can break em, that negates your benefit, but gets rid of the negative. But depends on the case. If I make a binding vow that I can only kick for 7 times my kick strength, if i break it, I lose that 7 times, but am able to punch again. It’s more of a trade off rather than an absolute, unless you take the miwa case where the trade off negative is specifically permanent.

Whether he entirely gave up the ability to damage things physically or just limited Dismantle's effectiveness against physical targets doesn't actually matter at all. The only thing you lose when you break a Binding Vow you made to yourself is what you gained from that Binding Vow. So even if Yuji said "I cannot physically damage anything with Dismantle" in exchange for boosting its effectiveness on the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi, the second he breaks that Vow his physical damage with Dismantle goes back to normal and all he loses is the boost to the damage against the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi. That's what Nick's saying makes the act of making a Binding Vow with yourself so silly. Yuji gave up something he didn't care about doing, hurting Sukuna and in exchange got a massive boost to the thing he actually wanted to do, damage the barrier between Sukuna and Megumi's souls. But while it does feel a little narratively unsatisfying, I feel like that's kind of the point of the system. Cursed Energy and Jujutsu as a system is basically entirely predicated on exploiting the rules for your own gain, following the letter of the law while violating the spirit of it, that kind of thing. It kinda feels like Gege said "Let me take the laws of Nen, and have them treated like real world laws are treated," So if you're powerful enough the laws basically don't apply to you. You can engineer yourself a way to get everything you want and give up basically nothing. Get caught "breaking the law?" For the most part unless your crimes are too big or you offend the wrong people you'll get nothing more than a proverbial slap on the wrist. Sure, you might have to pay a fine that means nothing to you. But it's not like you'll actually face any real consequences.

Instead of listening to nick actually READ the manga he keeps misunderstanding and undermining the small details in the last 3 vids he’s made, like in this vid todo was switching yuji with SHARDS from the domain and nick completely ignores this and the binding vow was to make one switch instead of 50 thus increasing his range, nick is a good RU-vidr at times but recently it just seems like he rushes the vids and doesn’t even get the facts right.

Not that you can’t take issue with their increased usage, but this arc is our main cast getting into the top tier of jujutsu. A person’s skill with jujutsu is their ability to manipulate binding vows to their advantage. EVERYTHING is a binding vow, even if it wasn’t called that. The 10 shadows requiring hand signs is an example of a binding vow that’s never been explained or even called a binding vow.
