Farming minister Mark Spencer says his party is unconcerned by news that Rupert Murdoch's
Sun newspaper is backing Labour for the first time in nearly 20 years.
The paper said it was "time for a new manager".
Mr Spencer pointed out the Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph are still backing the Tories.

I'm not a Labour voter but I don't understand this narrative of a super majority being terrifying thing. In the UK it's typical for the governing party to be able to pass laws without relying on votes from other parties. 51% or 91%. Same outcome surely.

There are MPs in the governing party that might abstain or vote against the party. The bigger your majority, the easier it is to push through laws. Think about Theresa May's brexit deadlock; she had a majority but it simply wasn't enough to push anything through

I have voted in every GE since first being allowed to as an 18 year old in 1979. Each and every time the Tories have run a “Project Fear” campaign, always along the lines of basically “we know we’re cr@p, but we’re not as bad as the other lot”. Every. Freakin’. Time. Enough! Not going to work this time. The thing that gets me this time, with the Tories trying to scare about tax: it’s well documented that the national debt has rocketed in the last 14 years, and that we currently have the highest tax burden in 70 years. The question is, where has all that money gone? What do we, as a nation, have to show for it?? Wherever it’s gone, I’m sure it can be evidenced that the Tories are truly the party to be trusted with the nations finances…..

Murdoch summoned Starmer a few months back for a cosy chat on the sofa. Starmer has been told what he can and can’t do, just as Blair was. This is ‘Murdoch Democracy’ in action. Don’t get me wrong, anything is better than the Brexitory Loon Party but stakeholders will remain bottom of the totem pole.
