Iced buns. I would have traded the pizza for another iced bun. In the 1960s we had an actual nutritionist and cafeteria ladies that cooked actual food. (Except the fish sticks, they came in packages and I found a Christmas ornament hanger in one.) The best was the upside down pineapple cake, that the nutritionist made, herself. The worst was the leaf of lettuce with a half pear on it, with a glob of cottage cheese on top. I ate the lettuce, passed on the rest. It usually went with the spaghetti.

When you take creatine, most of it will end up in your muscles. Your muscles will change it into phosphocreatine by adding phosphoric acid to it. By taking a creatine supplement, such as creatine monohydrate, you can change the amount of phosphocreatine and creatine in your muscles. The extra creatine can help your muscles make more adenosine triphosphate faster as you use it to fuel your cells during high-intensity exercise. One reason your body builds more lean muscle tissue when you take creatine is that your muscles will hold more water. The pressure from the water in your cells causes your muscles to swell. This water and swelling can also make cells grow. Used a lot in pre workout with things like caffeine for "focus" and beta-alanine for stamina.

I used to work at a supplement company in the US. Our sales, especially new customer sales, were primarily by phone, because people are largely unaware the supplement exists, and don't know what it's supposed to do. We were not allowed to say it does (diagnose, treat, or cure) anything. We were allowed to quote legitimate research, explain what it affects and how it does it. We had our product blended with common popular supplements and vitamins too. We were not allowed to make a recommendation because that would constitute "prescribing" and none of us were doctors. However we COULD say for example, "many of our customers who experience allergies take the Allergy Formula." Yes, all the products were given very obvious names so none of the customers should have needed to ask. But the point is that anecdotal stories of what customers said it did for them, and "herd mentality" logic and actual research were the only things we were allowed to say, lest the FDA get wind of it and shut us down. That was in the mid-2000's so maybe things are not quite as Wild West in the supplement industry as this video claims. Also, btw, I think that not only supplements but actual medicines are not allowed to say they diagnose, prevent, treat, or cure ANY disease. E.g. Ibuprofen manufacturers can't put that it treats a headache on the bottle. Maybe that's not an FDA thing, maybe that's a lawyer thing.

I take a women's multi vitamin. I also take a hair, skin and nails vitamin and a probiotic for the hoo-ha (it's called happy hoo-ha). Granted, I doubt I'd ever take more unless doctors recommend something.

Vitamin D is too low in almost everyone with a modern lifestyle and plays an important role in the immune system. If you don't eat fish everyday and live outside of 30 degrees from the equator or don't go out in the sun daily, get it checked out or just take the daily allowable safe dose of 3000 to 5000 IU and take some vitamin K for good measure (K is often sufficiently included in multivitamin pills which invariably include way too little vitamin D).
@Sir_Scrumpalicious
@Sir_Scrumpalicious 4 месяца назад
Vitamin K2 is needed with D. Vitamin K is completely different. Everything I've seen says the "safe" dosage of D is way higher than 5000 especially if someone has trouble absorbing D.

The United States commodity food program was actually a good thing. It artifically provided a way to remove excess items from the supply stream, aka commodities, from the food supply. This had the effect of bolstering up pricing on these items. So, items like milk, cheese, butter, corn, syrup, peanut butter, ham, and similar could be maintained as a scarcer commodity and keep pricing uplifted. At the same time, these items were being subsidized by the US federal government, so that farmers would be able to keep a high standard of living based on the sale of these items. The US federal dollar was being inflated by the exchange of these items on the stock market and provided a backing for the US dollar. When the commodities were short coded, aka about to expire, they would be given as a type of welfare to citizens as foodstuffs. Everyone won in this exchange. The farmer, the seller, the transporter, and the end user. The commodity foods program was one of the rare times the US government actually did good by its citizens. Just some perspective.

I used to use creatine. As a bodybuilder, it's the one supplement I actually got results from. It especially helped reduce my recovery time between sets. But eventually, I found I'd trained myself to a condition that required little rest between sets, and I phased out the creatine. Now I just take a daily multivitamin.

SUPPLEMENT SECRETS I've done industry labels for a long time. I know it sounds boring but it's easy money if you are really fast at art programs. Anyway, 85% of the digital label industry I've done is new supplement companies. Here's the secret: they all buy pre-packaged imported "who knows what" from the same companies in China and the Far East. They always say they know what's in there, but they never know the quality nor if the contents mislabeled might even be illegal in the USA. They just put a new label on it and sell it. This is why you see crazy bombastic artwork on giant jugs of mundanities like "WHEY" and things like clay end up on the mix. ONLY buy all USA ingredients in all supplements. China exports a lot of stuff that is illegal to sell to Chinese citizens in China. So... don't be stupid.

china exports anything they can't sell locally because SOMEONE will buy it. I watched a recent Patrick Boyle video (the bald/glasses/bearded men I can't escape!) where he talked about China exporting crazy numbers of cars in recent years (a lot of them going to South America & Africa) because the local market dried up. it's their responsibility to not sell crap overseas sure, but we in developed countries also do some shady stuff. up until a couple years ago Australia was exporting trash to China because we don't have the infrastructure to proper deal with it (and still don't, China just refused to buy them - now a lot of recyclables are in landfills here).
@juhis5936
@juhis5936 4 месяца назад
@@Abby_Liu the chinese definitely are aware that they have the capability of creating cheap things that people the world over will buy over more expensive domestic things, and not even that many things plastic made etc are only made in China, tbh for some reason it kinda fills me with a weird sense of anxiety when I think about some chinese engineer people working in the chinese factories designing such vast amounts of mundane things that nobody cares about (random toys etc) lol

I remember an FDA warning some years back about imported toothpaste from China that contained a chemical that was basically antifreeze. And another shipment of toothpaste that was intercepted in Central America that was literally just caulk! 😮 Sadly, it's not just China shipping random stuff like that, despite the potential health risks. I knew this one woman who was hooked on these diet pills (fen-fen? something like that I think?) that were banned in the US because they could essentially cause holes to form in your heart -- so, to get around the ban, she ordered them from companies in Mexico and Canada that shipped them to the US as a "novelty item." 🤦‍♂
