Glad this confirms the issue with DNJ pumps. The Supra groups on FB also say the same. Glad I haven't finished my build yet, I have DNJ pump on my shelf that I was going to use.

Finished a 7M-GTE rebuild a couple months ago. After much deliberation, I threw the OEM pump back in the car, original 125k miles. So far, so good.... my idle oil PSI sucks but its within spec of the FSM. Unshimmed. I think its just part of 7M life. And yeah, delete that factory oil cooler sh^t and get a quality relocate kit and thermostat/cooler........ good luck getting this thing back on the road hopefully oil analysis comes back good and the damage was limited to that gear.

Knew it! The brass gear is an absolute joke. I hope this genuine aisin pump lasts long. Also the backlash is fine.

I did the same thing man, after it blew up the first time though. So, sorry to say it happened to me with out the stiffer spring and with the DM spring. They should be held liable. I pulled my 7m 2 additional times because of there crap pump. Let me not forget about how my machine shop covered both incidents. Try $5,200 each additional time plus the initial $5,200 I gave them for the rebuild. Yeah😢

What aftermarket oil pump would you recommend? Aisin got discontinued.

Wow dude, that really sucks! I'm very surprised that it happened without the stiffer spring. From what I noticed after tearing into it, it seems like the internals of the DNJ pump are fine. It's just that weak brass gear they have. I know the OE pump has a brass gear, but Aisin clearly built theirs better. If only Aisin didn't discontinue the pumps

Hey man what’s up, I am finally putting all the plugs where they go and i am noticing that there actually a lot of plugs that dont connect anywhere 😂. So as I go it would be very helpful to see if you could elaborate on said cables. Very excited to see this car turn on, I am going to go by that video you posted turning your car on for the first time. As of right now there’s is only 3 plugs I have questions about. The first two are the same, they are 4 pin connectors one is in the driver side where the turbo boost pressure sensor is and the other one is in the passenger side where there is also another sensor (not sure what it is 😂) probably sum to do with turbo as well. I think I heard that they have sum thing to do with suspension or sum. But everyone I see has those two disconnected. And the third one And probably the one that’s been frustrating me the most right now is a plug where the fuse box is that I can’t find where it goes into. It has 4 cables going into it and I saw in your video when you first turned on you car when putting in your battery that you also had it disconnected and rolled up in tape like mine is. If you can help me out i would appreciate it. Thank you.

@@isaeldearmas7694 Oh nice man. So I don't remember all of the connectors or where they go. A lot of them won't be used. But if you go to the TSRM and click on "MKIII TEWD". That'll take you to the wiring section, then click on "Electrical Wiring Routing", and that'll give you some guidance on what the names of everything are

Plain and simple, DNJ oil pumps are garbage. This happened to me twice. I didn’t catch it either time so the 7m had to be pulled. 3x’s in less the 12 months I pulled that thing because the exact same issue.
