Dennis and Michelle, you had some really good thoughts in this video and now that you talked about them I can see those being benefits for sure. It got Shelley and I thinking about the benefits of our camper... It's not tiny but it's definitely not a big fifth wheel. I think ours has made it easier for us to travel and made it more of a priority. We've only had it since April and have already taken 4 trips. Thanks for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Absolutely. Like Dennis said in the video, there isn't one right size for everyone. And the camping setup will also change during different seasons of life. But yes, it's a good exercise to think through what you really want/need before making a decision because our hearts can deceive us into thinking we need more than we actually do. Thanks so much for your continued support! So excited to keep watching your photo adventures!!!
It is so easy as an American to think we need more than what we'll actually be happiest with. Less IS more most times. That said, a toilet in the middle of the night or your own shower is really nice, but don't require a mansion on wheels. It does make you appreciate life and makes you spend time doing what actually matters. We tent camp now, but do want to "step up" to a teardrop for more versatility. Great video!
We absolutely agree. And by the way, we do have a cassette toilet for in the middle of the night. That's kinda near the top of the list for us at this stage of life. 😁 We hope you have some amazing adventures with your tent now and your teardrop when the time comes.
Hi guys! Been missing seeing you during our absence! I’ll have to continue living vicariously through your travels a bit longer as our summer plans have changed. Loved how you talked about connecting during these adventures! That’s one of the things I loved most about camping too. 💙🤗 happy camping and again, loved your thoughtful insight Dennis. I’m thinking even with the fifth wheel life we’ve lost a bit of that “connection” you spoke of.
Oh, I'm sure you have experienced that connection. Fulltime in a fifth wheel is still living in less square space than most. I'm sorry to hear your summer plans have changed. Email me or Friend me on Facebook. I miss chatting with you as well and would love to hear more details. Big hugs!!! ❤️
This is such a warm and wholesome vlog 😁 beautiful camp and a blessing to have a nice toilet around lol! great unexpected benefits, I do agree that taking the time to camp in nature forces us to “disconnect to reconnect”. Too many distractions these days 😂
Yes, distractions are everywhere and it sort of sneaks up on you how much they're affecting us until we unplug and experience life without them for a bit. Good point and thanks again for your kind words!
So glad you enjoyed it. We have videos about other Michigan State Parks as well. Hopefully they will give you an idea of what to expect. We hope you have a wonderful trip!
Thank you. You're so sweet! So glad you're enjoying our videos. The Rustic Trail campers are pretty special. We hope you're able to make some wonderful memories with yours this summer! 💕
Cool video and some great points about tiny camping. We just went out for the first camping trip. A one nighter close by in a great park (Punderson State Park) some great sites with nice privacy between on a lot of them. We used our Clam Quick Set 11 foot round screen room and loved it. It is a game changer as far as bug reduction and still feeling like you are outside because the screens are so clear. And it sets up in like 2 minutes and came with 6 panels to add to the screen sections (add a few or all if you want) if you want more privacy or cold weather/wind protection. We absolutely love it so far.
Thanks for the recommendation. We are considering getting some type of screen room to take out with us. Right now, we're borrowing a canopy from someone but it doesn't have screens and that would definitely be helpful in buggy or cold weather. We're so glad you had a nice experience at Punderson. We aren't as familiar with the state parks in Ohio but we're looking forward to checking those out as well. Hopefully sooner rather than later. So much beauty to explore in the Midwest!
@@TakeATripTogether sure thing. We’ll put together a little video of it and our camper tour. Clam makes really nice ones. Some that have floors that velcro in them that you could camp in too if ever needed. Gazelle makes a nice screen room too.
Thank you for the great content Dennis and Michelle 🙌🏻 I'm thinking myself to get a tiny trailer from Rustic Trail Teardrop too - I'm in between Polar Bear and Kodiak Stealth 😊
