Greetings, Dr. Glover! I've had a similar hangup myself from time to time, misinterpreting the advice you gave out in your books as "just settle for 'good enough' and never strive to do anything better, because that means you're a perfectionist and perfectionism is the Devil". I'm a Virgo, so I've been raised up in the mindset of always pursuing knowledge, skill and excellence at what I do (music). I never settle for mediocrity; I never settle for just enough to get the job done; I always do more than what's expected of me, because I believe that makes a positive difference. Because, as you have ALSO said, "every time you settle, you get exactly what you've settled for". Viewing your response, I see that striving for excellence and being a good man doing better are not at odds in the least. The only one who's truly perfect is God above, so that relieves a lot of unnecessary anxiety in me. Thank you for everything you do!
