Cirie is truly the best to never win, especially after getting screwed out of what seemed to be a winning game not once, but twice. First in Fans vs Favorites by the final 2 twist, then in Game Changers by advantage-geddon
Russel absolutely dominated the first 2 times he ever played and lost the third time cause he was a huge threat. If the juries weren't salty af he would've won back to back seasons and been a 2 time winner
@@jackclausen7252 I used to agree with you, but part of survivor is jury management. A lot of people didn't like him. He was mean and many other things. He played a good game yeah, but you have to remember that you put the jury there and they have to like you still. He didn't do that.
@@jackclausen7252 The only reason Russell ever made it to the end was because he was easy to beat in front if the jury. You keep him around because he'll never get any votes.
@@evildeathcuddles886 and?? what are you gonna do about it??? hmm??? I'm a south-east asian growing up in India, so don't even try me with your bs, little girl 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The difference between IOI being a decent season and being a bottom of the barre tier season was a coin flip. If Janet wins, IOI is redeemed just enough in my eyes. The merge episode up to Dan being removed is still garbage but if Janet pulls through with a win the season is at least ok.
Idk dude I feel like she still wouldn’t have beaten Tommy. He had all the connections on the jury. It might have been a closer vote than the Tommy/Dean vote, but I still think Tommy would’ve squeaked by
Saikou210 Fair enough. I don’t think Tommy was an undeserving winner, but I definitely rooted for Janet until she got booted. Hope they bring her back in a future season, hopefully one with less controversial characters
Stephen Fishbach has proposed A very interesting idea for the return challenge works if fire tokens are in play: the later you’re eliminated the further along in the challenge you start and vice versa, but if eliminated earlier you have more chances to get more fire tokens to buy advantages in the return challenge
Man I feel so bad for Janet! Not just because she would have been the most redeeming winner of S39 but also because she lost the game on a coin flip....
@@jacksonia7724 @Jack Sonia Not true. He won because of his impeccable social game. However, yes, he was essentially buried in the edit because of castaways like Janet & Elaine being the clear fan favorites.
@@jacksonia7724 Having a superb social game IS something major. It doesn't matter how many blindsides you instigate or how many advantages you play if you're not deemed a standup person when all is said & done.
I’m not sure, but I think that Cirie could win GC if it wasn’t for all of the advantages Without the legacy advantage: 6. Sarah idoled out by Tai’s idol. (3-3 Tai and Sarah) 5. Tai either voted for by Cirie or idoled out by Troy (3- 2 Tai and Troy) 4.Aubry- Cirie gets Brad and Troy to believe that she’s a bigger threat. (3-1 Aubry and Cirie) Cirie wins getting every vote except for maybe Sierra. ____________________________ Without Troy’s idol 6.Troy. Cirie wins fire making easily. (She’s played Survivor for over 120 days don’t tell me she wouldn’t win Fire just cuz she lost her 1st season) 5.Sarah (3-2 Sarah and Tai) Cirie is the swing but easily sides with Tai and Aubry 4.Tai (2-2) Cirie wins fire again and she convinces Brad, who wants Tai out bad, to vote for Tai.
this is a nice alternate universe and all, but they wouldve had to have had rocks for brains to allow cirie to face the jury when she wins against anyone. i think she just gets voted out f5 or f4 if theres no advantage train
abby rose Yeah in both of these situations it revolves around Cirie convincing at least one person to take her side in the f4. In both of these Cirie either wins, or comes in 4th.
I think Jeremy and Kim should have swapped advantages: everybody knew about Kim's idol, but if she uses Safety without Power (which expired at the F10) then nobody would expect her idol to come into play. Then Tony's alliance piles their votes on Jeremy thinking he's an easy target, and he plays Kim's idol on himself! Of course since Sophie had an idol and they were voting for her I guess she likely plays it and so all votes get negated and Tyson goes anyway lol on the revote.
Several of Jeremy’s voting block in that tribal specifically whispered back and forth with Ben and Tony, two players leading the charge against Jeremy, without saying ANYTHING to him. Not to mention shortly afterwards Kim and Denise betrayed Jeremy several times, so I think it’s pretty possible Kim was planning to let J go home. At this point, Tony, Sara, Denise and Ben has not yet formed that super strong alliance, so Kim no doubt saw a route forward in the game claiming majority from Cops R Us.
at least no more immunity idol nullifier..the whole tribe knew about Dan's and Janet's immunity idols so there was no way to avoid that ..it's not fair..and with that nullifier in play the immunity idols are no more a strategic tool to sway somebody's vote at tribal council if somebody played it or showed it before voting ..imagine Tony would have been voted out had Parvatti's idol nullifier been played after all that high game level from Tony..that would have been a disaster..
Remember when DK Chillin got a purple edit and then in the final 2 episodes of IoI they began editing him as the winner all because of a coin flip...KING
I'm glad you took such a mature stance on Cirie's elimination and looked at it in a more nuanced way than most. You're one of the only content creators to date (AFAIK) who acknowledges that advantage hoarding was the primary issue, not over-saturation of advantages. The three idols in play were merely due to players being conservative with idols and hoarding them for weeks. Tai's idols were found at the wells of 2 original tribes' camps and Troy's idol was found at a challenge after the first swap. Not one of the idols played that night had been from the merged tribe's camp. They had all been found prior and saved. Additionally, if you were to ask me, I would argue that the legacy advantage was the least problematic advantage played that night, as it had been designed to be less powerful than an idol (since it could only be used at the final 6). Additionally, only a player who found it or had it willed to them could use it, unlike an idol which could be passed around and played for anyone. I think Cirie's elimination was just a combination of unfortunate circumstances and high-level play from the others. The production didn't give the players too many advantages. The players just chose to hold on to them as long as they could. I do, however, agree that advantages should have been given a "lifespan" earlier, and if they had, this situation would have been avoided.
I agree. A lot of people don't realize that there was only one other Idol played that entire season besides Night 36, that being the idol Tai played on Sierra to eliminate Malcolm.
@@Captain-Sum.Ting-Wong even as far back as season 25, there were three idols pre-merge, which means this theoretically could have taken place at the final five if the season played out differently. Are you really going to make the argument that Survivor: Philippines had too many advantages?
I am still so upset about Janet. Dean knew that Janet had the idol so there was really no questioning behind the decision to play the nullifier. He knew she would play it because it was the last time she could. Janet was the best person on that season in my opinion so it was so sad to see her go out this way. #Stanet
@@im903yearsold here's the worst part had there been a final 6 round dean would've been voted out don't forget he was convinced the fake legacy advantage was real & was BRAGGING 2 Rob & Sandra about how he was gonna get all the votes put on him so he could blindside everybody by playing the legacy advantage so imagine how funny it would've been 2 c the look on deans face as he puts all the votes on him smugly walks up 2 Jeff 2 play the advantage crowing about how he outsmarted them all only 2 fall n2 a look of horror as Jeff says it's NOT real & all votes 4 Dean will still count plus Janet wouldn't have been fucked out of a spot n the final 4 & possibly the final 3(Tommy probably would've won immunity & put Lauren against Janet n fire & taught Lauren enough 2 beat Janet)
I genuinely hated caremoan ,game changers ,ghost island after seeing island of idols I have found so much respect for those seasons .a good Survivor season needs great pepole who are human.
Cirie's and Janet's eliminations sting they most. They probably would have been the respective winners of each of their seasons; namely, (Seasons 34 and 39).
I’m not so sure Cirie makes it to the end of game changers but if she does I think she can win. Nevertheless it’s still incredibly frustrating to see one of my favorite players taken out like that. So unfair.
My favorite advantages are the risk vs reward ones (safety without power, idols hidden at challenges or inside the camp, sneaking into the other tribe’s camp, etc). It keeps the game fresh without being too game breaking. Also, I’m not talking about a coin flip advantage. I think obtaining an advantage should require some action/strategy on the part of the player
Cerie is the main player I think deserves a win more than anything, since almost every time she's been voted out has been literal bad luck and not something she could have affected by playing the game differently. A true star who deserves to have her moment in the sun.
Don’t get me wrong I love Aubry but even without the advantage she still wouldn’t have won. Also, the fact that Neal was pulled from the game after being a long time fan, having an idol, and it being a medical evacuation I think him loosing his jury vote was pretty screwed over.
Interesting Note: Joe using the idol didn't matter to whoever he choose after that Vote Block, because even if they tie 2-2 on Desi, Desi would've been safe in rock draw, i.e. they can practically control who goes home in consensus.
Natalie had even more of an advantage since she was basically out there uncontested until Tyson showed up. Amber couldn't have cared less. She was so frustrating and my least favorite of the whole season. And Danni and Ethan weren't as strong by comparison either.
I was happy to see her back but yeah it was a little disappointing to see her only play for Rob. That being said, she’s a fantastic narrator and her confessionals on the Edge were actually really enjoyable to watch (and I’m someone who absolutely hates the concept of the Edge). Especially her last one before they all left for the final battle back challenge.
@@brettlarkin1992 she really only did so poorly because 1 she was w/ her husband who just so happens 2 b arguably THE MOST FAMOUS PLAYER EVER & 2 it'd been SSSOOO long since she played & the game had changed SSSOOO much that she just couldn't cope & adapt the last time she played there were no such things as advantages not even idols it was a str8 up if u get the votes ur fucked & hell even Rob struggled w/ the idols n waw & the others on his tribe even said didn't u find an idol n the season u won & Rob said yea w/ like 4 clues that's y Ben was like hey guys I can teach u how 2 find idols if u want that was his most valuable skill waw was really geared towards the new school winners they had the most experience finding & dealing w/ advantages & dealing w/ fast paced gameplay whereas the old school winners like Ethan & Amber were really WAY out of their league & even old/new school winners like Parvati Rob & Sandra struggled w/ the advantages & fast paced gameplay let's b real this season was MADE 4 a winner like Tony every1s on an equal playing field aka they've all won so that doesn't create a target on any1s back & there's so many big names out there that Tony actually has the chance 2 lay low & blend n2 the background & get people 2 lower their guard
Fun Behind the Scenes Fact: Jessica didn't want to give the disadvantage to Devon. She wanted it to block one of the Heroes, but Ben bullied her into not doing that, Ben of course knowing about it because Cole couldn't keep his mouth shut. He wasn't gonna let her give it to a hero, and he wasn't gonna convince her to give it to a healer, so it went to Devon, the sole hustler.
The super idol is so op. Think about this, out of the 3 that have existed in the history of survivor, the first owner never played it and got third place and would’ve easily won had he gotten to the end, the second was also never played and the owner won, and the third was ALSO never played and the owner also won THAT game. In its 3 iterations it has yet to see a single time it has been played, and all 3 times the person either couldn’t get to final tribal because it expired, or got to final tribal and won. Truly the most ridiculous advantage ever, the only one in history that u don’t even have to play to have power with it.
What about chrissy's advantage during the final immunity challenge in HvHvH?? She was screwed because the advantage either way benefits Ben's game. I say at least devon and chrissy should have had a spot on the list. Anyway, GREAT CONTENT AS ALWAYS! Keep doing these kinds of videos
They’re on the worst twists list because the thing Chrissy got was more of a twist than an advantage. Especially since it was the first time it appears.
IOI is just a season that should've been amazing, but it just went horribly wrong. Dean the frat white boy who hadn't done shit managed to flip a coin to get a nullifier. Literally all the woman and Vince had much harder tasks to get advantages, but Dean literally got it and walked away. Janet could've won and it would've saved the entire season. So maddening.
i feel like chrissy was royally screwed by the final 4 fire making challenge more than devon was bc had she knew about that twist before hand she would’ve most likely have tried to take out devon before the f4 and kept someone who could make a better fire and have them try to take out ben instead, and knowing about the twist the day of tribal hurts bc there was no way anybody could’ve prepared for that more so than make a plan. i mean chrissy did try to make it work by only telling devon so he could practice but look what happened lmao
I dislike the Idol Nullifier. It's just Brute forcing a possibly well played idol out of the way. It takes the risk away of voting for someone and getting idoled out yourself.
Hey Idoled out I’m doing a survivor game through discord trust me it will be fun but I want to get the word out there plz reply if your interested or want to help me get the word out. I love your vids and keep up the great work. Thank you so much!
I go back and forth with Natalie. She had an advantage for being the first voted out, but it was amplified by the fact that the next couple of vote-offs didn't care. Amber was JUST there for her husband and was no threat to Natalie at all. They gave her so much more momentum that she really didn't have any competition until Tyson showed up many days later. Poor Janet 💖Island of the Idols could've had an amazing winner, but instead we were stuck with...Bobby...? Billy...?
Winners at War was almost ruined by Natalie. Least deserving player to ever make it to the end but thank god Tony still won. Natalie was safe every week she was in the game minus the week she was voted out
Facts. So bs. And people try to say “but she killed the edge of extinction game”.... ya because she was there the longest and had the most time to rack up tokens. I guess you get an advantage for being the first boot smh
If they do Fans Vs Favourites again heres who I want Males: Rick Devons, Christian, Davey, Dr. Mike, Rodney Females: Natalie Bolton, Chrissy, Reem, Gabbi, Shambo
My top 6: Abbey from Survivor AU Season 4: Taken out by a remove from tribal power. Basically the proto-Safety Without Power, where you can remove anyone from tribal who can't vote, but is safe. Luke removes Baden to create a 2-1-1 vote where Abbey goes home to keep Pia in the game (Although, like...why not just use it on Pia 'cause then Abbey probably goes 3-1 anyways since Baden and Harry aren't voting for each other, but still Abbey would have been screwed). Annalise from Survivor AU Season 2: Taken out by Ziggy's weird super idol thing. Basically, Ziggy had this weird super idol that is an idol, but it also flushes all other idols played in the same tribal that is it, so Ziggy just plays it like an idol nullifer to take out Annalise, something that had never happened up to that point (Since it happened before Season 37). Dan from Season 37. Same reason you said. Micheala from Season 34. Screwed over by the weird rules around the steal vote where it was worded in a weird way that allowed for Cirie to be tricked into thinking it was playable by anyone Sarah gave it to. Cirie from Season 34 and Steffi from Survivor SA Season 7. Screwed for the same reason you said with all those damn advantages. That being said, for Steffi, she was probably going home anyways 'cause she would have been voted out 2-1 on the re-vote anyways (Rob and Nicole vote for her, and Latecia votes for Darou). Alison's alliance from Survivor SA Season 4. Basically it was a 3-3 split at the final 6 of Survivor SA Season 4, Hyke, Bonnie and Letchego all had an advantage (Bonnie had an advantage which let her negate a vote, Hyke had immunity and Letchego had an idol), meaning that Alison's side was completely screwed here. It was basically advantagegeddon, but with a block a vote instead of 2 idols/legacy advantages. If you can't tell, I really dislike either advantagegeddons, or unprecedented advantages screwing over people.
Michaela wasn't screwed by an advantage, she was screwed by Sarah (and Cirie) who knew the rules of the advantage and was looking for some trust from Cirie but because Cirie was gonna play it against her (like wtf??) and Cirie didn't knew the rules she them decide to voted out Michaela. Neither the advantage itself or neither Michaela was the reason that she was voted out.
@@romanzolanski6256 Yeah, that's what I was saying. It was the rules of the advantage not being really outside of what it did in name causing confusion that lead to Michaela being screwed over.
Honestly if I was told to decide the amount of advantages and idols in the game I would do 2 tribe and idols 1 new made third tribe idol if we got from 2 to 3 2 merge idols 1 out at the start and the second appearing after we get 3 jury members And 2 advantages like vote steal and idol nullifier for example 1 released in the game in the merge and one in the pre-merge so its a great amount of advantages there but limited not like play an idol ok now a new idol appears which I kinda hate because then you get stuff like Ben in HHH happening where they just keep finding the idol like an Easter egg hunt(don’t get me wrong I think Bens a cool dude heck I loved him a lot in the WaW finally because he knew he was losing and took a sacrifice for a teammate so he got more respect points)
I’d say an idol at each camp that can only be played in the premerge. If they go from 2 to 3 tribes another idol is hidden at the new tribe camp. These idols do not return into the game after being played. At the merge, one idol is hidden and another must be retrieved either at a challenge or on a reward or something. 2 other advantages at max can be received on a reward or at a challenge as well and none of these return to the game after being played. Final four fire making is removed. Imo that would be a fair way to distribute avantages without them piling up unfairly or majorly screwing people over while still keeping the game interesting and exciting. Also either hide the fucking idols better or go back to using clues and I swear to god DO NOT re-hide the idols after they’ve been used!!!
I feel like the game of survivor’s gotten so gimmicky with all these advantages. Some like the idol nullifier should just be completely removed from the game because they’re impossible to play against. I wish they would just stick to regular idols.
Honestly I think the idol nullifier works. You have to fish out which player in the minority alliance HAS an idol, and if they keep that secret it's a guessing game as to which member you play it on. I do think there are far too many advantages, but I would argue that the idol nullifier has its place given there are half as many immunity idols/immunity advantages as players now.
Even though production are limiting the duration advantages can be played - we still could have seen another Cirie'ing in Winners at War to the one and only Tony when Sandra was eliminated. Jeremy could have walked out of tribal, and Sandra, Kim and Denise all could have saved themselves making Tony go home by default. Please oh please production don't allow this to happen again! Great video as always!
There’s were only a recent addition. In Game Changers for instance I had no idea who had what. Also it’s nice that they’re there but even still it’s hard to keep track, especially when some people don’t get confessionals in an episode or multiple at a time.
Let's be real, Janet winning the season wouod be bad. She was quite a bad player and all though she had a massive storyline on the season she would have been a bottom tier winner. But that's not the point. Great video but the thumbnail annoyed me
IOI is a different monster. Since pretty much everyone besides Janet became unlikeable by the end, a Janet win would’ve been rewarding for the viewer (at least in my eyes). She stood up for Kellee and nearly ruined her game for doing the right thing and if she wins that would be very satisfying to me. However, in a normal season where Dan doesn’t kill the whole season by being the worst person ever, a Janet win would probably not be very satisfying as you said. IOI is just a shitshow
I'm sorry but the whole tribe against Ben in heroes, hustlers and healers was absolutely robbed Idol after idol including one placed 5 feet from him where he slept then the "surprise fire" starting challenge on the only vote where he can't blast them away It legitimately felt like the others had been tied to chains, gagged and given a half an hour delay to do anything... It wasnt survivor it was an army commercial and I respect and love the troops but let him win on his own merit not because they wanted him too
number one in future videos will be the newest season with the "i get to ask if you have the idol"used on xander :D i dont remember the name of the person asking/ being screwed because i found the season terrible, but it was a great moment
Natalie almost lost the challenge with all her advantages tho which was so annoying to me because I know she wouldn’t have come back into the game if she didn’t have all her advantages
everyone is fucking FLIPPING OUT about Cirie. it wasn't advantages that sent her home, it was idols. so unless you count idols as an advantage, you'd be mistaken if you said it was an "advantagegeddon" as only one, yes only ONE edvantage, was played that night. sure it might be a stupid advantage, but my point still stands as only one advantage was played that night anyway. also if this happened to anyone else BUT Cirie, im sure no one would give a shit; everyone would be laughing that night, just like i did when Cirie got run over by the immunity train.
The player from each season most screwed by twists. (Top Borneo all the way down to Winners at war): Rudy Varner Silas Paschal Shi-Ann Dave Savage Rupert Brook Wanda Bobby Jon Cirie Ozzy Michelle Yi Aaron Cirie Jacquie Fishbach Liz Tyson Holly Sarita Rick Leif RC Phillip Marissa Spencer Keith Rodney Keith Aubry Jessica Cirie Devon Stephanie Dan Victoria Janet Sarah
39 would have been a much better season if Dan had been screwed by the vote block or hanging envelope instead of Jason or Jamal or if he’d been his tribe’s first boot instead of Molly.
Cirie's elimination in Game Changers should've been a wakeup call for Probst that the advantages were wayy out of hand. It became no longer a game of social politics which is the essence of Survivor. It's an absolute disgrace
Cirie was screwed also in Panama by Terry's super Idol. If not for the idol Terry gets voted out at final 4. Danielle wins final immunity and probably takes Cirie to the final 2, where Cirie beats her
I feel really bad for Jason. He got screwed by an advantage on a 4-4 division, in which Aaron was gonna flip on his tribe. He not only was not able to vote, was also voted out, and was unable to be apart of the jury being voted out 1 tribal before it started. He started his game rough, being part of the minority (and almost being a second boot), but was quickly able to rally allies together to defend him from being voted out. Great and underrated player / survivor fan who's story got cut short from a vote block. :(
Did you hear that the OG plan that night was actually to vote off Aaron? The four Vokai were working Aaron and Missy into convincing them to turn on Elaine, but the four of them were actually then going to blindside Aaron, and take him out in a plurality vote while Lairo turned on their own. (This also works as a counter measure just in case Elaine came back from the Island of the Idols with an actual idol). But then Elaine played the vote block, and that's why you see them whispering, trying to turn their votes back to Elaine and just pray Arron was still down to vote with them. "Hey, don't trust Aaron." Says the guy not ten minutes ago was ready to vote Aaron's ass out.
If there is one thing Ive learned not to do under ANY circumstances: NEVER tell anyone you have a legacy advantage. Just dont. It has NEVER worked out well.
