In 1994 (Elliott Tuffin) married the charming Lisa Priest, Steve´s daughter. I am happy to see that the microphone was given to the rightful singer, Brian Connolly. R.I.P. my lost angel Brian.
My God, I'm 50: Brian, if he were alive, would be my mum's age. I think I've rarely seen more moving things than this, and I'm a person who hardly ever cries over an artist, a singer... mostly outside the problems of ordinary people. Here it's different, all very different. Brian was a sick, devastated man: the hemiparesis in his left side made him tremble and practically made him a disabled person. Steve was weighed down, prematurely aged, but the affection, the spontaneity, the sincere joy, the sweetness of certain gestures, the understanding of pain, the deep human warmth they radiated for each other made any unpleasantness in their appearance disappear. Two beings who emanated light, now, themselves, together for eternity (with Mick) are love, are light...💖
This is an absolute treasure, to see Brian & Steve rocking out again here and feel the love between them ❤️ Sweet was the best and will never be forgotten!!
That's just made me cry. God bless poor Brian he was absolutely wrecked at this stage but you can see and feel the love and support from Steve towards him. Its truly beautiful. And Now they are back together. Truly moving.
I want to tear up with sadness and happiness at the same time every time I see this specific video. It is simply pure joy and magical and the best of the human experience, especially the friendship bond between Brian and Steve. Raw, unfiltered, unstaged. Simply joy.
Indeed. I have so much empathy for Brian, from my dad’s journey and my own journey of issues with alcohol. That said Brian and Steve were so much in to what they did well. My life and been better because of them and the rest of the band despite my own issues
What a wonderful testimony: Brian, although he was no longer drinking at that moment, was now a very sick man, with a left-sided hemiparesis that made him tremble. Steve was also prematurely aged, weighed down, but although they were no longer the good-looking guys they used to be, there was an empathy, a sensitivity, a human warmth and a joy in seeing each other again that was hard to find in so many other artists throughout their careers. They understood each other, corresponded in affection and shared grief. All this makes you forget how unpleasant there was in their physical appearance and all that remains is an immense sweetness...they were beautiful, wonderful inside❤
@@silviazanicotti5054 this low-definition quality un-staged footage just shows there are some things in life that matter more than high-flying glitz and glamour: the best of the human spirit of two friends there at each other’s side in the moment, especially at a time when either Steve or Brian maybe weren’t at their best. I will always look up this Brian/Steve video when I need a reminder of the good that is part of the human experience. Priceless.
@@joeguerra8435 Yes, beauty (and Brian was a young man of enchanting beauty, like a Renaissance gentleman painted by Raphael), fame, money...everything passes, vanity of vanities, everything is vanity, as Ecclesiastes says. Here you realise what really counts in life: goodness, true love, solidarity in suffering. To feel good, at peace with yourself, you really have to watch this video: tenderness in the gestures of two human beings in a difficult moment helps you to remain human. Truly Sweet, forever
What a Beautiful video and moment…. That was a true bromance there ♥️There was only one Brian Connolly…. such a shame things ended the way they did for him …God Bless Brian and Steve and Mick LEGENDARY BAND !!!
This is heartwarming stuff. Great to see Steve and Brian harmonising together and enjoying themselves on “Fox On The Run” and “Action” years after the Sweet broke up. What a lovely bit of footage! ❤.
A simply fantastic video... it's not about music, it's about human feelings... the ones that ultimately matter more than anything, more than fame, more than the limelight... Steve's gaze is something that takes your breath away... no longer the witty, penetrating gaze of his younger years, when he winked at Brian in concerts. That mischievous look has morphed into a sweet, protective look towards Brian, as he might look at a sick child to whom he would recommend food, sleep and rest...What remains is a deep sense of beauty...
Missing our Steve so very much today ... losing him just 4 days ago ... still can't come to terms with losing our Brian and Mick ... makes me very sad. Such losses. beautiful, beautiful people who continue to make our world so much brighter through their magic.
@@MichaelDBauerTrue, Brian was weak, ill and Steve was also ageing prematurely and badly, yet in their affection for each other, in the joy of a meeting, in the sweetness of their embrace, these two fragile human beings have something good and infinitely beautiful...
Brian and Steve were great together..especially in the 70's till the 90's..They'll sorely be missed..I still love the original Sweet band..RIP Both of them..🤗
Wonderful to see both Brian and Steve back together again. Only this week the sad news that Steve has now departed us too. RIP and The Sweet will always love on.
What a great bass guitarist Steve Preist was and a wonderful human being to really respect Brian like that it bought a tear to Steves eyes he really was a friend to Brian rest in peace STEVE and BRIAN.
I love that this is a normal family wedding reception, with Aunt Rita and Uncle Bob walking in front of the camera. Bringing Brian up on stage was so touching. He's frail. Steve's tears made me tear up too.
I live in Australia, would have given anything to be there to see Brian & Steve, oh god how I much love these guys! RIP Brian & Steve , you will be forever missed 😥
A shame to see Brian so unsteady on his feet, but it’s great to see from this video that Steve thought the world of him. You can clearly see that he was thrilled to bits to have Brian there and that he was equally as thrilled for Brian. I had never been entirely sure what the situation was with the four band members, but I’ve since read that Steve was very close to Brian. This video definitely shows that. Both are hugely missed and Sweet definitely deserve far more credit and recognition than they ever got.
Both my favourite bands. They influenced each other. The Sweet influenced Queen in their early years, and Queen influenced The Sweet in their later years. The vocal harmonies and guitar style and sound.
Precious. Decent supporting musicianship on guitar, drums, keys with Steve who masters his bass and is rocking and the young singer is all class giving the floor to Brian for a moment in rock history.
Julie Archer that’s what this is from? Lisa’s wedding? Oh how beautiful! Poor Brian. I think he never got over the trauma of that beating and self medicated with alcohol. What year was this?
5.10.2021 Happy Birthday dear Brian 😘 Thank you for your wonderful voice and fantastic Sweet-Sound 🎶🎤 Keep on rocking and having fun with Mick and Steve where ever you are 💕💕💕 You are unforgotten and forever in my heart ❤
What a lovely video it was nice to see them both made me cry. l do remember them when I was growing up, and I talked about to girls at work, and I forgot they are yon Younger than me
a true double edged sword. if you believe in divine intervention, then we were given brian, then it did that to him. a true icon of his and my era, and quite probably, seeing him like this is for me, triumphant and depressing all in one helping. may whoever has his soul keep it forever content that on this earth, he was loved unconditionally.
Emotion in ihren Stimmen u. der Musik konnte man Zeit u. Raum vergessen. Die besten sterben leider viel zu früh. 😭😭😭 Brian u. Mik R.I.P. 😘 LG aus München.
How great is this!!! Lovely to see. I did a few gigs on the bill with Brian. He wasn’t in the best of health but always gave it everything he had. What a band the original Sweet were. Totally underrated.
You and I correspond about 10 years ago. any chance that since that time you might have played around with any brand new songs written in the T-Rex style?
RevSpike It’s so busy now with T.Rextasy that there is very little time to do anything else. Also, I helped Demon Records with their Record Store Day with the Bolan album Bump’n’Grind.
My heart jumped. The outside might have changed, but the awesome pipes and passion are there like yesterday. Steve sounding great! My God I loved Sweet! RIP Brian, Mick, and Steve. 😢 Rock on in that rock afterlife with the greats.💞🎶
It's great to see them together.Sad what happened to Brian who had a great voice.Steve still could bring it. Sweet were as good as anyone in the day.The first band to have the high register spot on harmonies, even before Queen whom I bet were inspired by them.
One of the best if not greatest rock bands of my generation. They were underated and there was so much more to them than the glitter of top of the pops, four very talented guys. This video says it all.
How beautiful!💖 I love how Steve looked out for Brian. It touches my heart. I will always love Sweet's music, and the four gentlemen in the band. Endless respect, may Brian and Mick RIP.💖 I wish Steve and Andy happiness every day of their lives. Their music means so much to me!💖
My dad loved the sweet , l do too,,we like it raw and sweet were the best..miss you dad. Brian and now Steve's gone..keep rockin ,sweet sexiest rockers of all time..hello to all the fans still out there . 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧✨✨✨✨♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have and ALWAYS will LOVE seeing these two together -- beautiful, beautiful spirits, Brian and Steve -- such a loss with Steve's recent passing - along with Mick -- all three -- much, much too soon. By all rights, all three should still be with us -- imagine that. The foursome -- what a dream that would be. I only hope Andy takes very good care -- he continues to provide us with such treasured moments of the magic they created together. The Sweet -- the absolute finest.
What a brilliant piece of footage. Sad to see Brian in this condition as for many he was the iconic 70s rock front man. This group of guys were just a great band and I still enjoy their music today. I read a story that the big rock bands of the day, Sabbath and the Guy's from Deep Purple used to go and watch the Sweet playing live because they thought that the band were awesome. They were and the music still is today. Thanks Sweet 😊👍
Wow What a wedding reception. My first single I bought as a child was ballroom blitz and never loved a band as much as these. Such a shame it all fell apart but great memories from a great band. R. I. P. Brian Mick & Steve x
. . So geil! . . RIP Good bye, Brian!
God love them. It's so sad that they're gone now. I was a teenybopper when these guys were rocking, and I still love their music. First Mick, then Brian, and now Steve. It must be sad for Andy now, to be the only survivor.
The Sweet are absolutely amazing! I love each & every member of the band equally, but I have to say Brian had the most incredible voice. Even after 20 heart attacks he could still sing better than most. When combined with the harmonising talents of Steve & Andy there were few bands who could even come close. Such a shame he had to leave the party, that goes for Mick Tucker as well. Many bands have come & gone since I was a little kid, but few will make such a huge impact on me or be even 1/10th as good as The Sweet in their prime. They are the best dressed, best sounding & best looking band ever to bang the box. Exactly what a proper pop/rock/metal inventing group should be.... LOOOOOOK OUUUUTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! Big love, Max Quirk xXx
He still had that commanding presence the moment he walked up there. You can see glimmers of young Brian here and it's fantastic. 5:50 "You want Action? God help us" Too funny.
What a gem of a video - thanks so much for posting. I just love the Sweet - great memories of growing up in the 70s dancing away to all their hits at school discos and parties at home. How I wish I could have been at that wedding, what an amazing band. Listen to those harmonies - wow. Love you always Brian, Mick and Steve, taken far too soon 😥but your music lives on 😊. You will never be forgotten. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
These guys influenced so many bands. IF you listen to there stuff back in the 1970s they had elements of many kinds of rock. Heavy metal, Pop, straight up rock n roll. Its amazing.
I believe this was from Steves daughters wedding back in the mid-nineties in California. You could see that any animosity the two guys had at one time, was long gone. RIP GUYS
Brian: "Do you want Action? God save us"😂😂😂😂😂❤❤Mild irony (and self-mockery)...it takes psychological cruelty not to love a man like that...sense of splendour every time I watch this video, that's what I'm left with...
Whish I had been there Brian was my idol. I would so like to have met him in person such a shame he was taken so soon you can see how much Steve thought of him. RIP Brian Steve and Mike you are all missed so very much.
My God... This is the real thing! It's so rare to see them actually play unsupported on video. The chemistry is magical, it's a once in several million lifetimes occurrence. Just seeing it is like looking directly at the sun. Don't ever pity Brian, his condition only proved just how tough and incredible he was while still stuck in an earthly body. Brian isn't gone, he's right there, and both are shining like the brilliant stars they are. Love you guys with all my heart.
Strange i watched the Sweet as a pre-teenage punk on Top of the Pops , didnt think anything of em , glam , glitter , so what , the Pistols were round the corner , but listening to their songs now , well , what a talented group of musicians , and the songs are soooo fresh! A band before their time , The Sweet rock and roll!
