Before the Red re-record, the song was unavailable on an album and had been initially performed once at the Stand Up for Cancer event to help raise money for childhood cancer. She had come across Ronan's mom's blog, Rockstar Ronan, and before Ronan had passed away had invited the family to her concert here in Phoenix. After he had passed away, and she had performed this song only once, she came through Phoenix again for her 1989 tour which my daughter and I attended. At all her other tour cities, she always invited someone super famous on stage with her as a surprise guest, but at our concert, instead, she invited Ronan's family again to her concert and performed his song that night rather than invite a special guest. She spoke about her own mother's cancer struggles and dedicated the performance to the family. Very emotional moment in the concert for sure!
Above all else, Taylor is a storyteller. "Ronan" IS both beautiful AND brutal, esp. if you've lost someone you cherish. The emotionality of her vocal performance is heartbreaking; & the lyrics are SO evocative & detailed, that I can visualize it all unfolding in my mind, like watching a movie. It doesn't matter how many times I hear it, this song ALWAYS makes me cry😢.
The reason I fell in love with Taylor Swift is her skill of putting thoughts into paper and just singing with her emotions out there. She really does well in these slow ballad but this particular song, we all know the back story, makes it that much more heartbreaking. I got teary eye listening to the lyrics and the music in the background. Ronan's mother must feel forever thankful for Taylor immortalizing her son in music. I hope this song helps heal others in the same shoes. :( This reminds me of Celine Dion singing Fly to pay tribute to her niece who passed away too soon.
This song hits you in the heart and soul like a sledgehammer no matter how many times you hear it. You know what’s coming ,you steel yourself, but it makes no difference. The power of the song slips past your emotional defences and then it hits you like a freight train. It’s one of Taylor’s best songs but it’s so painful to listen to…
I cry every time I hear this song. He was the most beautiful child I’ve ever seen and this is the most beautiful song ever. I know how that mother feels…..
I can never get thru this without tears. I lost it when she sang it on Stand Up 2 Cancer. I've lost a lot of people to cancer so it hits differently. Thank you!
You are a braver man that I Suffi, I can't watch this video without crying. Such a beautiful song, it's like a 50% chance skip for me depending on my mood but it's one of her best.
Speaking of lyric videos, It’ll be amazing if you react to Marjorie a song she wrote about her grandma. Taylor talked about it in the interview she did with Zane Lowe. You can hear Marjorie (was an opera singer) singing with Taylor
Gah. I was only able to watch half of this video (sorry!) as this song always leaves me in a puddle of tears. I love that Ronan is known all over the world now and he will never be forgotten. 💕
This is one of her songs that is beautiful but I can't listen to it. Because of her skill of always capturing the emotions in everything she sings about its so heartbreaking that I cry the second it starts. As a mom, my heart just breaks for anyone who has been through that. I respect and love what she did with this but its so hard to listen to.
Great video as always man! Twenty One Pilots performed new versions of some of their old songs, including Stressed Out this week for MTV Unplugged and they sound totally different to the originals, using live looping, layering vocals and they even sampled the audience, would love to hear your thoughts!
React Coldplay Up&Up MV please. I always watching you react coldplay and that's great reaction and i want know what your reaction watch the best visual MV Coldplay (up&up)
Did you happen to try listening to anything off of Folklore or Evermore? Those 2 albums made me a Taylor fan, when before I was mostly ambivalent about her. Off of Folklore, I especially like "The 1", "Cardigan", "Exile", "Mirrorball", "Illicit Affairs", "Invisible String", & "Mad Woman". Off of Evermore, I recommend "Willow", "Tolerate It", &"No Body, No Crime". Off of the extended "Taylor's Version" of Red, I'd check out "Treacherous", "Holy Ground", "Nothing New", "I Bet You Think About Me", & "Run"
@@kosmikpixie oh please. I'm hardly seeking attention. I listen because it may have been something I like. If I don't listen, I won't know. Stop with the drama already...
