strange, I didn't think it was April 1st... you're really reaching. Firstly, VR makes many people motion sick, and after the failure of the Virtual Boy they won't ever make a fully-VR console. Nintendo also won't take such a massive risk on an untested technology after the spectacular failure of the Wii U, and won't call it Switch U or some silly BS like that. "Switch 2" will be an iterative, Switch-style console that does 1080P undocked, 4K docked (with checkerboard rendering similar to PS4 Pro). The SoC is already known, and is in about PS4 Pro territory, which makes competent VR a non-starter.

I think people are forgetting that the Switch 2 can be both. Having a console that can be a Switch and a VR display is insane, and it would be even more groundbreaking than the Switch concept. Basically you could have a single console that could do mobile gaming, TV gaming, and VR gaming all at once. It would be insane. I still don't think this is likely because Nintendo has never been great at VR, but it could be amazing if true..

Full HD or 960 pixel per eye is not enough for VR and there will be Resolution be lost between eyes. At least 2k per eye would be a good experience. Anything below would just be a gimmick. The resolution in 2024 should be at least on quest2 level. Even bigger when you take the nose wide resolution lost due to a switch display into account. Not gonna happen.

Well, you did find some upset audience with this video :D I also believe it is a possibility. The system will not come with all you need to play in VR, but the strap and the rest may be available in a external option. The console will target the same market but with the option. And we know Nintendo games engines are versatile to add vr, botw and smash have a mode for it. Well, in less than a year we'll know for sure. Keep up with the good videos!

VR isn't good for young kids' eyes. I don't see this happening.

It'd be really cool to see, especially if the 'visor' is a pack-in item and it can swap between modes simply by slipping it into said visor or taking it out just as the current Switch does with the dock.

I feel like you're kind of onto something. I don't think you're entirely correct, but onto something. Nintendo loves experimenting with vr and such, they tried it on gameboy even. But, I feel like they know that vr is too nice to try to sell a console on as it's primary feature, but the dots do line up.

I feel like it will be an optional feature but not the main feature. Like it will not have the equipment out of the box, be more like labo, same with AR. The fact that so many partner companies are excited i guarantee its not bc of VR/AR, but bc it will have enough juice to play more intense games.

Being able to play in VR as well as having the option to play handheld/docked too would be v.kool! 😺
