The band is from New Zealand. They are a mix Polynesian and from Samoa, NZ Maori and the Lead Guitarist is Thailand/Chinese Descent This song while sounds aggressive...but the song is about family. You said the would do some light Jazz... they actually do a mix of genres

Being that it was rare for me to come across any Samoans like me who are of metal ears and play, made me feel free. Because the majority of the young Samoan community home base music is hip hop or reggei. I grew up on nu-metal, grung, & thrash while of course maintaining hip hop and r&b feels. As a Samoan like Shepards Reign, I thought I was the only one who was into this music. I come across Shepard's Reign and I started to cry. All the years of hurt and shame I felt feeling alone in this music all came into fruition and in relief now knowing I was never the only Samoan especially female who was into metal or rock.
