This is Interesting because “dissolve” is tattooed on Baphomet’s upper arm and “coagulate” on the lower one. First he dissolves unity into multiplicity then he coagulates it into his own idea of unity. Very alchemical. By the way, I bet “Baphomet” was originally a deformation of “Mahomet” the French word for “Muhammad”. The Templar’s where accused of converting to Islam while in the holy land.

So, could it be said that Christ represents unification that happens under a higher principle, to which an antithesis is a merging that doesn't serve any goal and therefore is chaotic and monstrous?

It's common that NewAgers and "naive pop- occultist" will make the claim that Baphomet isn't Satanic it's just a representation of the merging of opposites.
