The Takagi-San Season 3 Finale Was PERFECT!!! Here's Why... 

In the ending he says "it's because of love", which is a very indirect way of saying their feelings are mutual. It's more of an acknowledgment than a confession. Takagi-san's character is patient ... she's already been waiting a long time. Nishikata-kun is only beginning to understand his feelings in that, while he does not necessarily like the constant teasing, he's willing to endure it if it means spending time with Takagi-san, which he's admitted to himself that he enjoys. Takakagi-san will give him the time to keep working it out, and not rushing him (or us!). The two have developed a level of comfort around each other in that they freely talk about their interests and feelings. When it comes down to it, when needed they show kindness and compassion to each other. Also, their relationship is recognized and acknowledged by their friends more than themselves, as actions seem to speak louder than words. This is way better than love from physical attraction. It's the basis of a good deep trusting relationship, and a much better/solid foundation. Even the "game" that Nishikata-kun comes up with in the final episode, while he thinks it's to frustrate Takagi-san, rather it's a very thoughtful fun game, which he put a lot of thought and effort into. His subconscious knows himself better than he does. But let's be careful here. We're talking about an anime, and not real people, but I can see how easy it is to get emotionally attached to this wholesome slice-of-life. There are good lessons and good feelings to enjoy from it, and I do look forward to seeing how it all plays out. I love the area of Japan that this story takes place in, and it's a refreshing and peaceful environment that so few of us foreigners get to experience. It's not just about these two, but also the friends they are growing up with. I hope this can continue in development a good long time. It's a comforting escape. Enjoy!

The series wouldn't have lots of wholesome moments together if it wasn't for Kimura, he's the MVP of the series.

I would add that when Nishikata ran to meet with takagi, he wasn't doing that because he was sure but because of the possibility of her liking him: in the moment he considers it, he didn't say "so those were her honest feelings?", he says " *what if* those were her honest feelings?" and he didn't want to disappoint her if that was the case, so even with a little bit of doubt he chases after her and makes a confession of the same style she's been doing since the start of the series. It also paralels a segment of the first episode of this season, when Nishikata was embarrassed to say the idea that Takagi could be there just to see him, and says "as if I could say it out loud". Here he did more than saying it out loud that she wanted to see him, he said out loud that he wanted to see her. I strongly agree that there was a confession in this season finale, it was just as subtle while meaningful as this show has always been. Glad to see someone who said it.

Takagi-San never confessed? I thought she said "I love you" to him then tried playing it off like she was reading a book out loud. There were no "I love you" line in that book she was reading at all so that was a confession. Haha
