My favorite episodes were always the ones that had the darker endings, like this one. I can see a bit of that Clive Barker vibe going on. Of course, now I just want to see a Jr. High version of Hellraiser. I'm picturing multi-colored push pins on Pinhead's face instead of nails.

@@curtisberard7831 Don't get me wrong, I like to see the protagonists win, but there is something about a good twist ending that just can't be beat.

@@JackOfAllNerdsShow No, not particularly. We only remembered one other episode with him. Just remember the episode stuck with us so much because of how creepy it was (definitely doesn't seem that way as an adult). Remember borrowing my dads shades trying to see the alternate dimension.

I do think the woman in black was the scariest of all the alternate dimension beings. Something about the extra wardrobe that made her more unsettling.

Do you still feel the same way about him or has that opinion changed with age?

@@JackOfAllNerdsShow As an adult I'm able to appreciate and laugh at how he's out of his depth and more of a hapless salesman than a real expert on magic, which is *much* more entertaining. As a kid I was so indignant at his incompetence because I was watching at an age where I still expected adults to know what they were doing. I think that's also partly why these episodes always seemed extra dark and forboding to me rather than silly, because these days I can lol at the idea of clueless parents and teachers having no idea what's going on but as a kid, the idea of being alone in a world of uncaring/ignorant adults felt genuinely chilling.

@@MoragOctober That's true. Kids put their faith in adults who seemingly have all the answers, until you become an adult and realize they were just winging it the whole time.

There is also a season 3 episode that is similar to that Goosebumps episode. It's called the Tale of the Curious Camera, and I'll be reviewing it next month.

I don't think Paramount+ has all of the original episodes on it. I'm part of a AYAOTD Facebook group and I see a lot of people on their asking about missing episodes on Paramount+. I purchased the whole series (well, seasons 1-5) on Vudu. They have a sale on it every few months and I think I paid $10 for it.

I've heard that a handful of the original episodes are missing on that platform. I wonder why that is. You would think if they have the rights to some they would have the rights to all.
