This was timed well, I'm about to start building a Tau army (more for collecting, not as much for playing) and was going to paint it in colors looking like an Arizona green tea can. Tau are what got me into the mini painting hobby, so I want to show them some love! Also, that Ethereal looks so good! I'll probably pick this OPR release up, their poses are so cool, and they'd look nice next to the Killteam Pathfinder set. Kind of like a "history of", you know?
Reminds me I made a Krieg killteam. *Trench club/ entrenching tool joke here.* I really need to get some third party Kriegers and artillery so I can actually field a dull army... And by made, I mean have been making and have only finished three because I'm forgetful and spent _way too long_ converting one of them into a full on Ministrorum priest from Krieg and... failing quite miserably at sculpting purity seals.
Thank you SO MUCH for talking about ope page rules. I was looking for a simple wargame to play with my friend and their products are just PERFECT! Free rules, free printable token in black and white, that was exactly what I wanted. Thank you.
A custom commander battlesuit would be interesting to see. Maybe kitted out to deal with close combat as these guys (unkike their fishy freinds) appear to be quite interested in that kind of combat.
@@KrullMaestaren ok cmon i was just jokingly spreading imperial propaganda. no need to be sad about GWs prioritization of Primaris SM Lieut. sorry if i understood you wrong
Love your Sakura Sept. I built my own Sept too I'm using PiperMakes designs for my Tau army, and combined with crucible of games units for extras. When I'm finish painting I my display my army and love OPR.
I've been subscribing to OPR since last month, and honestly the quality of their models is AMAZING! And I low-key love the color scheme. I will definitely come back to this video later to study how you painted your models and try to replicate it.
Here's a tip for making your supports more professional like OPR's. Your supports are WAY thicker than they need to be. Lots of little supports is generally better than a few thick ones. Try cutting down the thickness a few microns at a time until you get a failed print, then rethicken it up a touch. This applies to both the support thickness and contact point thickness.
They look almost like a mix of tau and necron tbh. The pink details are gauss nodes, the guards are lychguard. the helmet of the etherial looks very necrony
Damn he actually pronounces Vallejo correctly. It's kinda fun to see youtubers who are from southern USA where speaking spanish is pretty common just completely butcher the pronunciation but then some australian bloke actually says vajeho.
I really like the models, the idea and the execution The trees however, are a bit odd and get in the middle of the outline of the miniature. I hope this feedback helps, it is given with the best intentions. I love the idea of this army and I want to see more. PS: Please give us some updates on the Arthur's knights and Space Bears too, they are all amazing.
Love what you're doing with the Tau, these look great. I find the OPR figures very appealing too. You guys, and OPR are the only patreons I support at the moment. Love OPR...
They look absolutely awesome 🤙 . I am looking a purchasing a resin printer and I am just picking the hobby up again painting miniature and your videos and advice has help in many way I am still very amateur at it but still I am enjoying it thanks guys 😊
Loving how these turned out, especially the honor guard. I can't wait for the next installment in this series as I have a love for this aesthetic. Great job!
Awesome design and paint jobs!! I've got an idea: what about some crisis battlesuits, customized with a samurai demon-like mask or armor pieces, in a kind of Oni style?
I'm loving how these are turning out! With the figures that you printed are the head sizes on par with the normal Tau ones as I was wondering if they could be used as an alt head as well
These aliens look scary like a hybrid Kroot/Tau. Its pretty interesting really. Because of this mix of already existing races, they look like they fit in perfectly. Now if only Tau could get more infantry units in general.
You should totally do a scenic "base" for them, something like a japanese shrine (with koi ponds, torii gates, etc) on top of a huge turtle-like mech. If you need some references I suggest you check the latest Magic the Gathering set: Kamigawa, Neon Dinasty.
It would be really cool to see the few male aids how that they have, converted into this style like commander far sight with a samurai sword. It would also give you a nice canvas with the battle suits
I'd love to see a Sakura faction in more armies I'm not sure how it would work for Necrons but I'd like to see it. Sisters of Battle would look fantastic due to their robes ect
I get the idea is that you gotta highlight the sponsor, but I kinda wished that you had maybe used the models to either kitbash or customise the games workshop models, mostly because they are both so drastically different from one another in terms of style and presentation, that it feels they'll stick out in the army like a sore thumb. I'm not saying the models are bad just, too different.
I've got the OPR ED as well, and their infantry models are stunningly beautiful, and I think a strong replacement in style for Fire Warriors. What did you think of the Oni suits? They've grown on me over time but they have this weird chunkiness to them I think.
so this is a two part question first i have been thinking about getting in to war-hammer and i am already thinking about making a chaos space marine chapter and i was wondering if i could get advice or even some help. second what are the dead space marines for. and 100% show more pleas if you read this thank you tTt you guys got me into wanting to do war-hammer and panting minis.
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on it! (There was a reason I printed exactly 2 guards and one floating king) - Etherial on Drone in some games, Aun'Va in others.
I love the idea of these custom models and game modes but where the hell do you find a table to play at? In Adelaide there are basically no shops left and groups are non-existent. I LOVE the models but there is nowhere to play them!
What makes me really sad about these cheaper 3d models being promoted is GW will never allow them in in a tournament. So as fun as it is to play with them I still want the option to go to a warhammer-con and showcase my army and give it the old college try.
