ACG i have noticed on almost every video on here now i have to click on the setting in the upper corner to change it.. almost everytime they default to frwakon 360 wtf youtube LoL
Playing this game now. It reminds me a lot of Alpha Protocol in a lot of ways. Solid RPG with an interesting story/world underneath a bunch of jankiness, bugs and problems. I loved Alpha Protocol despite its flaws, hopefully I feel the same way with this one too.
@resistance1207 I've liked all of Spiders' games so far. Yes they're low budget, yes you notice they're indie games ... but these games still have a heart and soul. Unlike all this mass produced garbage we call games these days. And I'm saying that despite still liking DA: Inquisition and the like. But how on earth did DA 2 get such a high score in almost every publication? It is a complete GARBAGE game without any polish, literally worse than indie level. But still somehow it got high scores on all games media platforms. Such a fucking joke. I didn't even finish the game because it sucks ass so much. Only Styx isn't that great imo but that's just because I'm really not that much into stealth.
I'm subscribed to a lot of stuff on RU-vid and I like to think I'm quite intelligent when it comes to games. And you are the only RU-vid channel I've ever subscribed to that genuinely knows what they are talking about and gives such great depth on reviews. You are my go to Channel for reviews. Just wanted to thank you for being such a consistent great channel with the best beard on RU-vid! Keep up the great work!
You will love this then. The universe is really interesting. Considering this is an original world created by the devs you will be pleasantly surprised
Somehow, this game reminds me of the Witcher series. This is like the first witcher games when they are trying to figure out the system, gameplay and so on. I hope in the sequel (if there are any), it'll be just like Witcher 2 and 3, improving in all aspect with each game. Man, I really hope this dev is the next CDPR. Have that kind of vibe i tell ya.
THIS is why I go to reviewers like this and not IGN or any of the “big” ones. They crap on anything they weren’t paid off to say nice things about. This and several others are honest channels that I trust and appreciate.
ACG no problem. I stumbled across this game by accident on GameStop and immediately typed it in for a review to see if it would be interesting, and you completely sold me on wanting it. It does look KOTOR-ish but it also gives me that Witcher 2 vibe as well. I really think this is a game for true fans of Action RPGs that isn't too mainstream to be bloated by pay to win DLC. I like what I'm seeing. I plan on getting it tomorrow. You just got yourself another sub!
he obviously reads from a script he made, now way someone can talk this fast non-stop like that lol.... I like his vids though. But he could talk a bit slower... i'm surprised I manage to keep up with it all lol
Really well done and very in depth ... instead of just calling out the game for its missteps you actually considered each aspect of the game and gave it a fair review. Keep up the good work! :)
Haha, I was just thinking to myself: "I wonder if this new Technomancer game is any good? Maybe some of my trusted sources had already covered its review?" and... there you go! :P ACG first on the frontline, as usually! Many thanks, Karak.
Excellent review. I've seen a few of your videos but just now subscribed. You have a habitual way of speaking in these videos that's just darn fun to listen to.
Really great video. This is the first of yours that I've seen, and honestly, I was super impressed. This is what game reviewing was meant to be, excellent flow, in depth content, a decent voice, honest analysis, and a rating scale that isn't arbitrary. Good stuff, man.
your 3 year old cousin found your grandmas old Casio keyboard and started beating the shit out of the keys...... never heard of you before.. but im subbing just for that one comment. this is actual a very good and deep review. which is rare now a days really.
Dude are you a legit comedian? Sometimes I watch your reviews on a game I’m not even interested in just because your funny as fuck with your descriptions. Like if there’s such a thing as a comedian of gaming you nail it.
This was an amazing review, so detailed, thoughtful and respectful, even though it is a budget title. No wonder everytime I see someone mention a honest reviewer there's a link to your channel. Seems like working hard and being honest really pays out!
I love how you always give every part of a game that you review ample time to be discussed! I just watched the ign review for this... It was two minutes long! But with your reviews I always feel like I learn so much more from your reviews, thanks so much!!!!
Here I was seeing reviews for this game popping up in different sites and hoping to get a proper ACG review. Delivered as usual. Keep up the good work!
Keelan Mullen Even then, Witcher is fairly small budget compared to other Triple A games. Witcher 2's budget was 10 million and Witcher 3's entire budget was $80 millons, which include the actual development of the game, marketing, DLC and the expansions. Some devs and publisher spend a similar amount just on marketing alone for their games.
***** It's not a Triple A game. Spiders Studio are known for making low budget RPG's and for the most part, they are at least decent. I've been following the development for this game and I can assure you, it's anything but Triple A. My Mortgage costs more than this game's budget.
GG Karak, this is an amazing review. I bought this game on a whim yesterday after seeing some E3 footage that was teeming with atmosphere and an interview about world build and partyprogression. Was able to play it for an hour or so and today I saw you put this video up. I was convinced you would classify this as a wait for a sale because like you said it is obvious this is a lower budget title, but during the video it struck me you had a lot of fun and that the raw nature of this game did manage to appeal to you (as it did to me). It also looked like you had a lot of fun making this video so I thought, "this is gonna be a buy with a but attached to it", which is exactely what it was. As the video progressed that intend became really clear, which can't be the easiest thing to accomplish I guess. I enjoyed it a lot :)
Wow man. I wish you worked for a major publication. Gamers deserve a reviewer like you. What an amazingly detailed review. It's so refreshing to here an honest game review that at times actually points out its own bias. Great job man. I'm a manager for a major game retailer and I have made a point to tell all my co-workers to definitely watch your channel before not only buying and playing a game that they have not put on their pre-order list but to also use it as a guide when informing customers about games they have not played. Technomancer was not on my list of games to pre-order but was on my list of games I was hoping you would review because I was a massive fan of Spiders last game. Thanks man for making this an easy buy when I get to work tomorrow and as always, amazing review. :)
I'm glad this is our modern definition of low budget graphics. I'll wait awhile then pick it up on Amazon or GameFly after some patches for the combat. Great review as always.
So glad you reviewed this- thanks! Spiders' last game, bound by flame was something of a flawed gem, and this looks to be similar. I think i'll definitely get it, especially since the look of it reminds me of KOTOR (still waiting for a remaster)
This is the review I was waiting for. I also appreciate the caveats at the end, but you say it hits on the things I hope it does, namely interactivity and narrative. I'm grabbing it. Great job, man.
Excellent review! Definitely going to play this. Spiders seems to be a studio getting better with each game and I hope they can craft something truly memorable in the near future.
I really like your style of reviewing. Informative, well paced and structured and a really solid rating scale that's not based on numbers that don't tell you squat about the overall recommendation. Keep it up, I'll definitely be watching your reviews from now on.
I still remember subscribing to this channel when you had about 50k subs. You're still doing the best job of all RU-vid reviewers, man, and I'm happy your channel is growing so steadily! Greetings from Germany and stay awesome!
great review! but Star Wars Mods for this game would be great, it feels like the entire game is based in coruscant after order 66 and the fighting style seams like it would look better replacing the shock sticks with lightsabers or staffs with the npc being replaced it could even be better than force unleashed...
No idea why you don't have more subs, jsut saw your video on an IGn review. Thank you for giving a good list of pros and cons. (new sub added) for this game, would have preferred a more in depth character customization, but for what they did, was really good.
I seriously think you're the top reviewer for video games, your system really works, plus you review all sorts of games! I respect that. :) Thanks for all that you do.
First time viewer, great review that confirms all my thoughts on the pros and cons on the game. Pre ordered and can't wait for release. Subbing and looking for ward to more of your videos.
Superb review! thank you. I've had my eye on Technomancer for a while now and got excited when I noticed IGN had one up, almost threw away the idea of getting the game after that until someone mentioned your channel. Having now watched your version I am happy to say I'll be getting Technomancer after all and that you have a new subscriber ^_^
Don't watch IGN's reviews. Their ratings are either 'GOTY' 8-10/10 or 'shitty af' 2-4/10. They never give 'good game' 5-7/10 ratings. Instead they grind their score towards either point and give viewers a false impression.
why is everyone so harsh on this game? this is a pretty fair review. i'd play this over Mass Effect any day...on sale for 10 bucks right now, gonna get it.
damn Acg! i saw footage of the game as well as your positive for my impression reviews and i am hyped. i ll definately buy it some time in the next months
if you dislike the video give it a thumbs down.... NEVER you are hands down the best reviewer such detail and honesty always a guaranteed thumbs up from me ...
Definitely going to pick up this title tomorrow, because it is $20 and that is a good price for me. From what I've seen it starts slow and sounds like it gets better later on based on this review.
I just want to say that I love how honest your reviews are. There are points I don't always agree with, but you don't sugar coat anything like some youtubers. Keep up the awesome work man.
This guy has published a good review. Great going. Seems the developers refused to bribe IGN for their ratings and IGN got mad and gave them low rating. Pretty much liked the game and while it is has it's lows, the overall plot is quite engaging and the combat is pretty good. (Didn't understand how the IGN guy found it terrible, must be a noob)
Was checking if there was anything new out, saw this title, hadn't heard about it and sure enough here you are again with a great review for it. Thanks, man! Also, I wish someone would develop a Total Recall game for today. All of the main characters in the movie are still alive to do the voice acting if they could get them on board. Now that, I would buy.
Whenever I want to know about a game and want a full honest review that I know won’t be biased and is extremely thorough, I come to your channel. Thank you for always contributing to my decisions on spending money towards a game.
I have a question Would it be a good idea, to present sound excerpts before each category of "sound, music and voice" that represent the "normal game experience" and some highlights (or lowlights for that matter)? The runtime of these excerpts(is that the right word for it?) would be a bit longer in total, but I think it would give me personally a better earsight of the games sound quality and variety than the format that is presented up to this point. I have troubles getting a visual image of the sound by the (sometimes appearing a little bit random) soundclips you use for the 30 secs before talking about it. More than two words as an answers would be appreciated, I'm not trying to be an asshole and I also don't know if someone else suggested that already. I just want to read your opinion on this.
I agree with this completely, when he changed categories from sound to music, I waited for that sound cue, or just a clip of sound, to register it in my mind. When he kept talking I couldn't visualize what he was telling me so it made it hard to see what he was saying.
Although I didn't finish Mars: War Logs, there was a lot about that game that I really appreciated, particularly the atmosphere. Wasn't sure if I was going to give this a go or not but you've convinced me, I'll probably wait for some of the quest bugs to get ironed out first though. Thanks for the brilliant review, as always!
Hydrosphere13 Yeah, I figure like how a pyromancer uses fire or a necromancer raises the dead, a technomancer would be somebody who's ability comes from cybernetic enhancements or implants and the like.
I knew I was going to love this when I had a blast with Mars wars logs. You could tell they had great Idea and ambition and I'm glad they could make another game In that universe :).
Ayman Nader I might buy this game , as I have just finished Mars War Logs and enjoyed that game because of its dark adult themes and a sense of desperation in the world
The perspective and environments give me flashbacks to Mars: War Logs but most of the gameplay and production values seem alright. Might try this in the future.
Liked and subscribing too, a really good, fair and detailed review that is a nice change from the generic reviews most gaming sites offer these days. You're doing god's work son.
i cant wait to sink my teeth into this one, money well spent if u ask me, with the sheer amount of content and replayability a game like this will offer.
even though I don't own a gaming PC and though this type of game doesn't tickle my fancy, your voice and jokes make most if not all your videos extremely enjoyable.
Bought for $7.50 yesterday. Played it til 4AM on a work night for 7 or so hours. Completed all main missions and side quests in the first part of the story. Favorite part is you can be a jack of all trades or focus on one fighting style if you don't like the others and I especially love how factions can hate you for doing something you though was small and insignificant and you get nailed for it. I love it. So far 8/10 we'll see....
I've been waiting for this review since I heard about the game. I'm gonna buy it now, great review. Over a year of being a subscriber, over a year of good reviews
Hey man once again another great review, this game isn't for me and hasn't been on my radar but it's always a joy to hear your opinion while flipping the English language in the best way. It's great to see your audience blowing up brother. Keep up the great work and thanks for another entertaining review!
That's just it, I don't hear you breath. You just machine gun the words at a rapid pace. You should do auctions (um you have then in the US right?), or take a career in street rapping like Eminem.
Ah. Eminem could talk drugs and I would rap about my last lego creation toppling over when my dog smashed it down. Lego I create-in now haten the canine 4 legged creation that smashed all up in this ruined by bidneezz left with nothing but ruins choked up but I'm sue-in taken him straight to peoples court what you think now sport Shippen him off to get eaten Whom I kidden I love em
First time seeing any content by you, and I've got to commend the detail you use in your review. Subscribed to you for more because it tells me a lot about the game. Keep up the good work
