I was the small gal who caused trouble at home, quarrels etc but the most hard working and very stingy.. My mom is very shocked now that I am the most generous. 😂.my dad loved me too much that my siblings thought they were not my true siblings, I hanged out lots with boys and always wanted to dare them especially in class..........I was a late bloomer in some aspects .I wet my bed till was 19..but also started my Ps at 19....then at some point I became a church gal... I was those gals who lie about coaching at bat valley and we spent whole day roaming in town..😂😂😂😊 But my relationship with my mom is now strong.

Miss Pumla for Governor, I agree...I love everyone's story 🤣🤣. I was a rule follower, and I still am. I do not like living on the edge. I can have fun in my own way but within the limits of what is acceptable in the environment I am in. I was really grounded as a teenager because my dad is a communicator, in words, and what he could not teach, he would bring me something to read or watch a program. Let us just say I find rebellion so exhausting, I am lazy on that part, zero energy for heart palpitations. Hahaha So, my take-home is seamless communication first then that part; a brain thriving on emotions but without the capacity to regulate. 1. Let us just guide them because they are fighting for independence and trying to find an identity (Pumla). 2. Respect the teenage stage as you do all the others (Manuela). 3. Be patient(Racheal). 4. Listen, and be more curious than critical (Angie)...

_I remember in my teens being raised by a collection of maids , dad and a step mom i was very stubborn in that the whole kamwanyi zone😂 and Nsambya Kabalagala combined knew me and i was untouchable b’se my dad was and still respected by the whole community b’se of his being mukambwe naye nze namugonza and i remember i was the 1st to call him Muzeeyi and my elders where like 😳 naye nze nali community champion being a footballer i would be in place like katwe where i adopted habits like using drugs but my dad didn’t know about it except my peers naye am grateful nti i was there, i was tested but came out strong and my family and community is proud of who i am right now🙏 I give thanks and praise to God and my never getting tired of me Dad_. Continue resting in peace mama 🫶🏻🕊

The most important statement from my 15 yr old niece was " Auntie, as much as we might be looking at the same picture, the fact is we are seeing totally two different images. So, in a nutshell, as much as you adults want us to learn from your world/experience, you also need to get into our world and understand that what am experiencing is totally different from what you experienced. So, instead of trying to pull me to your world, let's find a middle ground.

When we joined high school, our dad never missed sitting us down and talking to us as teenagers.... telling us the bad things and what is important for us. I swear my father's words saved me throughout highschool. Whenever I was exposed to a confusing situation., My father's words would echo in my mind and I would not go on to do a bad thing. What A Time To Be Alive! An episode that is a major bittersweet trigger...these are the kind of shows we needed during the dark ages of the 90s when the parental rule book dictated that children are only seen but never heard. Banange, u learn something new everyday, hence note to self," call ma therapist for a session(s) to unpack some teenage era overload." On the point of giving teenagers space, that's a tightrope many parents are navigating/wrestling with but good luck to all & Aluta Continua! Rosette, those braids/style are so becoming on u! Angie, u wrapped up the episode so well. #curiousnotcritical Merci! Bump❤!

The issue is that we magnify the bad side over the good side. We emphasize the don'ts over the dos which prompts these young ones to check in and confirm. For Example if we are talking about mobile phones, emphasize why phones are important, they may end up not addicted than when you limit and they are saying that the day I will get a phone I will sleep with it in my hands.

Some adults don't appreciate compliant teens. In their mind, they think every teenager is defiant & they keep on projecting their feelings on to you. I was the complaint one till now(26) I do follow rules for one reason- life is chaotically surprising I can't add on it more chaos.
