in continuation... the "square - rectangular" form of the temple, which is "order" , direction, intensity of meaning, can be contrasted with the "curves" of the theatre, which implies community, being together...., two opposite formal expressions , in an age, where now, we use whatever forms comes in handy and look good. A true lesson , in "sense" and architectural rightness and humility !!!
It is a stunning site, behind the temple is a steep valley which has the effect of really separating the temple from the hillside behind. Unfortunately I was pressed for time and didn't get to see the theatre as well . . . . maybe one day soon.
Very very beautifully filmed !!!!!, and the quiet music in accord...., lets one SEE .., a site that I had visited 60 years ago..., and as a young architect very moved then as now. Regarding the site and as I remember it, something about the orientation of the temple itself towards a distant hill ?,....of obviously major significance ?, . Bernard Kohn, (now in southen france).
Thanks for the comment. The music is something I did myself but is based on the opening of the slow movement of Bruckner's 7th symphony. I used the Notion program and sounds to record it.

Douglas L Hi Douglas! How are you? Hope everything is ok. We’re making a video guide of Sicily but we had lost all our files (we format the SD by mistake) and we’re asking to different channels in order to use some of your images. If is ok for you, we will tag you when your images appear in the video and in the final credits. Also we’ll put a link to your channel in the info box. Thanks a lot!!
