Thank you guys so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed and yeah I had an amazing time making this one and I hope you guys had an amazing time watching! Anyways I'll see ya in the next one!!! #terraria #iceberg #videoessay
I will say, you got one thing wrong with the lore, and that is that the cultists aren’t trying to bring back Cthulhu, rather, they are trying to stop his return, with the celestial pillars being the last line of defense after the cultists die to prevent Cthulhu’s return. (This lore was given by redigit in the terraria discord) I assume at some point they changed their minds about the cultists being evil. But that just makes me want new, updated lore.
unironically thought this video had 100k+ views, needless to say i got jumpscared when i saw it had 500, this video is just so good (and the goddamn god forsaken windows phone jokes)
7:09 the green cap provides 2 defense, and along with it and Ivy there's also Jim's Cap which only drops from Painters named Jim 7:52 the red potion is completely unobtainable outside of special seeds. Also on non-special seed worlds it gives you all of those debuffs, not just one. the time depends on the difficulty with normal being an hour, expert being 2, and master being 3. On top of this on FTW it gives you 3 of those random buffs, not one. 8:40 Luck does not influence what events happen nor what town NPCs show up. 9:22 That's a summon weapon, even though it looks like a sword 12:30 Chlorophyte has a cap as to how far it can spread 15:00 I've never heard most of this lore anywhere, not to say it's 100% false but i don't think this is all canon. the stuff past 16:00 is correct i think 20:15 Did you forget the entire existence of the Summoner class? Also pets never required mana to summon, pets on Old Gen also did not function like summons, the only ability to deal damage was when they happened to hit an enemy while following you in which case I think they dealt 1 damage
20:39 actually..it is in the modern game, there's an entire class based around it actually (it also got a HUGE ASS buff in 1.4), they are recategorized as summons/summoner weapons instead of just pets 😅 and yes, they are still...pretty broken Btw, the sword you get from daytime empress IS one of these summoner weapons, strongest one in the game
The first time i played terraria was on wii u, and so i still have the ability to fight ocram, but unfortunately i never beat the game until yesterday (with the moon lord ofc)
You say that most of these items here 1:20 are not good? Some of these items are the best in slot my friend, even after killing moon lord. Just one quick example: The Valhalla Knight Breastplate is by far! the best Breastplate in the game. Why? Well it not only gives you 24 Defense, which is fairly high if you compare it to other sets in this stage of the game (Post Golem) It also gives you 30, yes 30% Summon Damage. this is the single highest damage increase for a single stat on a single armor piece To top this off, this thing gives 8 Life Regen per second, which is not only the highest for all of the armor pieces out there, but also the best health regen bonus in this entire game. And this is just one piece i picked out of there.
Please do more research next time before making an iceberg video. The whole point of a video like this is to give a thorough explanation of what each entry means and where it came from. From watching the video though, it seems like you looked up most of the entries on the terraria wiki and just recited what was written there without fact checking it or making sure that the info was actually correct. Breadspy already made a comment pointing out multiple things that you got wrong, and I'd like to add to their list 0:25 Dev sets are dropped from expert and master mode boss treasure bags, not from any boss in hardcore. Furthermore, dev sets will only drop from hardmode boss treasure bags, like the twins or plantera for example, with the exception of queen slime like you said 9:19 Empress of light will one-shot you with any of her attacks if you fight her during the day, she doesn't just become "more powerful" 12:17 Chlorophyte spreading is not a "sort of exploit," that is just how it works 12:37 The ancient set that the iceberg is referencing is not the anubis-inspired vanity set. The iceberg is instead talking about the ancient hallowed set, ancient cobalt set, ancient shadow set, ancient gold helmet, ancient iron helmet, and ancient necro helmet. These armor pieces/sets use sprites that were in older versions of the game, but have since been replaced with more modern sprites. They still share the same stats as their modern counterparts, but are typically obtained as a rare drop from enemies (or by shimmering the non-ancient armor piece), with the exception of ancient hallowed armor, which is crafted with hallowed bars at a demon altar Lastly, why did you just skip over a lot of the entries throughout the iceberg? For most of the tiers, you would only talk about maybe half of the entries that were shown in the iceberg. Was it because you couldn't find info on them or what? It's not a very good iceberg video when you dont even talk about large parts of the iceberg.
You missed quite a lot of the content the other games got from Terraria. For example, the Wither's summoning method was based on Terraria's boss summoning.
