When Nolan Ryan isn't dealing with business at the ballpark, he's got beef on his mind. That's why he created Goodstock, an old school butcher shop to show off his beef selection.
I admit I teared up. I grew up in Houston in the 60’s and 70’s. NR a true legend. Glad to see he is healthy. Very cool you got a few pitches from him. 👍👍
This was an excellent segment Shane! I’m in Western Canada and love beef and baseball. For you to combine both of these passions of mine with the great Nolan Ryan was nothing short of spectacular!
I was at the Ventura fight! Have pictures that I took. That was Nolan's best last game. Arlington stadium went crazy! Lucky to have been there. Thanks Nolan!
He's like a male version of a Texan Betty white. Anyone in Texas who knows him loves him. That's damn sure a level of respect that can ONLY be EARNED! ESPECIALLY becoming a "pride of Texas" level legend really speaks volumes. If you don't have "Texas pride" then don't bother trying to understand
@@wabitt11 I may not be from Texas but Hamilton county is where my heart is, and 9/10 of my most prized possessions are items that Texans bought me that say I'm an honorary Texan. A lot of people ask me "why do you like rural Texas so much? It could not be more opposite of where you're from!" To which I say "exactly!"
@@PetettFarms I was born and raised in Texas, 4th generation. I live in rural East Texas in a town of 832 folks. Love it! We all learn as a child when traveling different parts of the U.S. or to foreign countries, when folks ask where you're from, you always get a reaction...almost always positive. So the feedback you get very early on is...Texas must be special. Who knew?!?!
@@wabitt11 in Hamilton county you can find my family gravestones going back so far you can't read them anymore. My dad left in the 60s but the last 5 years I've been the ONLY one going back there to take care of the farm. My uncle literally can't do it anymore, he will never leave the nursing home most likely, but he ran that farm by himself while paralyzed from polio from 1962 until now. I'm back home caring for my mother but still pop back every chance I get.
Back in July 1990 at Tiger Stadium I got to see Nolan Ryan pitch while I was sitting behind home plate a few rows up. The ball was a blur when he threw it! Awesome pitcher for his age at that time.
Dag. That's on my bucket list also. Neec to go see a game and try to meet the living legend. I hear from my dad's friend that he is a real nice guy and a down to earth country. 👍🤠 boy.
He is right about the mom-and-pop butcher shops, we had one and it was awesome, a hurricane destroyed their place, and they never came back. Meat you get at all of the grocery stores these days are not from the USA anymore.
I hate you and love you Shane ugh getting to play catch with a legend Side note I’ve had the brisket at 1775 bbq and it’s amazing didn’t know it came from his ranch
That was awesome! Getting to play catch with NR for even one toss is pretty cool. Have y'all seen the Antiques Roadshow clip of the guy getting his bat appraised? It was a game bat that belonged to Joe DiMaggio in the late '40s. It's a great clip. The man even got to meet Joe on a separate occasion and ask questions about it.
Congrats great video you touch my best two favorite things 1) baseball and 2) beef You are lucky to catch some fast balls from the best pitcher in MLB history Congrats again bro 👏👏👏👏
When you have a great place’s to go and get your meat, cute the right way so it can gave you the delicious tastes and flavor with the right ingredients flavor color w I’ll make you want more.
Nolan Ryan beef is too overpriced, imo It is about 2-3 more dollars than every other meet at my local grocery store. Give us laborers a chance Mr. Nolan. Drop the price down about a dollar and I will buy your meats, instead of Kroger meats.
One thing to think about, go ask the manager of that Kroger where that beef is coming from, he probably does not know, I asked my local HEB guy and he had to get back to me after calling corporate, turns out the meat is from other countries that they can buy cheaper, look at the seafood, it is the same, you have no idea what you are eating, The US imports about 94% of the seafood consumed here and of that the FDA inspects less than 1%., you are eating food with metals, pollutants and hormone crap and no telling what else in it.
