Found this channel while binging Universal Orlando related content (I’ll be heading out to the park relatively soon). Love your videos, keep up the good work! Also, any chance you could do a video on the old 7th Portal 3D ride? I remember checking it out years ago, but hardly anyone remembers it was actually a thing.
Thank you so much Comic Books vs The World! We appreciate the support and hope you enjoy whenever you head to the Universal Orlando Resort, its definitely worth the trip! Consider the 7th Portal added to the list, it is one of the most obscure requests we've received so far, it definitely is something else 😂
I had to pick which one to watch before I left for work. I ended up going with this one, partially because I had about 20 minutes before I needed to go to work (the Defunctland is a whopping 37 minutes) and because I'm curious what's gonna happen to this ride now with the Fox deal.
They had a spot for Bort in the KwikEMart shop! It was the only one sold out too! The lady working in the store laughed when I told her my name is Bort, glad they humoured me even if they've heard it thousands of times.

I mean, if Disney does their own Simpsons ride at their own parks in the future (for now, just in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai and possibly Orlando and Anaheim after Universal’s deal expires in 2028), they could do a Treehouse of Horror-themed story during Disney’s Halloween events (such as Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party).
They weren't lazy, they were just being a bit careful about which franchise should they use to make an attraction out of it, The Fast and the Furious wasn't really big at the time and not many people were talking about it, which is why they choose The Simpsons instead.
matthew whitcher It had potential, but after riding it only a month ago, and having attended the parks more times than I can count, I can confidently say it is one of the worst attractions in the Universal parks
@@starkermant5296 I accept your opinion I myself am a big fan of the fast and furious franchise so I may be biased but I personally was a fan but it does have it's flaws.
I like the way that Sideshow Bob disguised as Scratchy steps on Homer's foot, it seems like a call back to when Homer stepped on Sideshow Bob's foot back when he disguised himself as Krusty to rob the Kwik-E-Mart and frame him.
@@ThePoreproductions here's 2 better options : 1 : Universal should bring back the BTTF ride 2 : Universal should do a Rick & Morty themed ride to replace The Simpsons Ride
It'll be interesting to see what happens to the Simpsons at Universal. I'm sure there has to be some theme park rights that remain with Universal just like what happened with Marvel, but it's sad to see that so much of the park doesn't even belong to Universal.
Still has nearly a decade left in the contract but my feeling is Universal will just retheme the area. I mean they have DreamWorks and Illumination and it close to the kids area so it.may not.be too hard to remodel it in the next decade.
While he's very proud of our videos, he has told us nothing can ever top his Man Getting Hit With Football video. I don't blame him, it's still hilarious after all these years.
Ahh...Springfield: The busiest section in Universal Studios Hollywood. Everyone goes through there and most eat there(Krusty Burger being the number 1 restaurant in the park).
Also they couldn't afford universal Studios and all the companies under it's umbrella, as Disney owns Touchstone studios and partial rights to DreamWorks studios as well as Marvel, Lucasfilm/Lucasarts, Pixar, Fox , ESPN, hulu, Disney Animation Studios, Disney Studios, ABC, Freeform, A&E, ABC Family world Wide, Animation, FX (all versions) National Geographic and Nat Geo, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Disney Radio ( sold off to individual stations) Disney XD (Formerly ToonDisney) Disney Television Animation, It's a Laugh Productions, Lifetime, Viceland ( 10 % Stake) Jim Henson Productions, History Network, ( history, military history, h2 and History espanol) Fox life, Babytv and baby first, they used to have a contract with MGM and Turner classic movies as well ( hence the closing of the Great Movie ride, their contract was to expensive to renew and they've been focusing on bring stuff to the parks that they own outright from now on to ensure budget is met. At one point Disney even owned Power Rangers but sold them back to Saben and even held rights to Barbie who was also at the parks alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Roger Rabbit, Dick Tracy, and Pearl Harbor, Alien, Lassie, Zoro, and so much more. Disney is truly bigger than many realize and they're going to continue to grow and dominate, 6 out of 10 movies in theaters every month are a Disney or Disney umbrella film being shown and Dominating box offices and breaking records. Universal Hope's to combat this growth in parks with the addition of a Nintendo World and more updated Jurassic World area attractions as well as updates to Harry Potter area. Disney is launching the 16 acre Star wars land in June and September in both parks as well as a New Marvel area, Pixar Pier has opened in California as well as a Guardians of the Galaxy mission break out attraction, and Toy Story land in both parks, Tron is the next attraction being built at Disney as well, and a New spiderman experience will be added in California where you'll feel what it is like to have superpowers and don a suit. So, that's just a brief history of Disney and universal, for an interesting read check out Storming the Castle a book about the bane of Disney being Comcast and comcast's quest to buy Disney.
@@monkeyrun yeah lol they owned so many things people don't realize why, but when Spielberg went to universal studios, they ended the licensing and huge updates to Roger Rabbit 2 and attractions. It's why they ended allot in the parks, since Steven scorned them lol, they also couldn't secure the Muppets when Henson died before signing the contracts. So they had to wait for his widow to agree years later to stave off bankruptcy, but yeah lol Disney is a giant
I can quote this ride script nearly word for word as I wait on the elevator and the ride car waiting for it to start. Still one of my favorite rides of this kind.
@@ThemeParkHistory I love the history and Simpsons episodes first to last which this video reminds me. Do you remember when Homer Simpson took down Fantasy Land on an Episode of LA Law? Yes Homer is a hero to me for that you love his antics and silly nonsense he does a lot. fans wanted as Simpsons movie sequel I asked when it would come out. a real Quicky Mart was made yes it did happen. Which means fans can do shopping getting products that you see from the Simpsons television show? but there is no Moes Tavern anywhere or a summer Camp Krusty. which is better off staying in the show where it belongs. I am curious if any Simpsons video games will ever come out for the X Box One. not I think this will happen but a cross over Simpsons Family Guy movie would be really nice.
My favorite ride. I laugh from the moment I get in the queue until I leave the building. Even the legally required safety video is hilarious! "Is it ice cream?"
When a new Theme Park History video drops, you just gotta drop everything you’re doing and watch! I get slight motion sickness now from the scene where we fly off the wooden ramp and it makes your brain believe you’re doing somewhat of a barrel roll. I wish the ride film would be updated. It’s showing its age. Springfield is an awesome area to have lunch and hang out at USF. Great video as always Jack! 👍🏻
I think that's the only part during the attraction I still close my eyes, I can't just register what is going on in the scene. It's like that VR for me in general. It's a shame that the ride is in the shape its in after the massive upgrade to the area near it, I really do think that whenever the attraction and area closes (whenever that is), the building has to been torn down. Thank you for watching Michael!
Theme Park History I agree, cause think of it, how many times are they going to put an IP over the same ride system, a 3rd time? Seems counterintuitive. I still love The Simpsons though.
This channel popped up when searching for Universal related videos and I have to say, I have not been disappointed. Keep up the awesome work! It would also be awesome to see the next video go over Transformers The Ride 3D!
I doubt the ride will be taken down in the near future. Disney can't just come in and tell Universal to take everything down because they own Fox now, Fox and Universal have a contract in place. If Disney were to try that, Universal would most likely sue and it could take years for a judge to make a decision. Honestly I don't see The Simpsons fitting in to any of the Disney Parks and Disney will just honor the contract that has already been in place for over 10 years. They don't gain anything by trying to remove the attraction, as not only wouldn't they get their cut of the profits due to the contract but they would need at least 2 years to build a new attraction.
I doubt it because Disney has owned Marvel for much longer and the Hulk coaster and the Spider-Man ride are still around. Plus Disney isn’t allowed to use certain Marvel characters in Walt Disney World because Universal still owns the ride rights to them.
@@ThemeParkHistory They will probably ask for settlement to renew the contract, however, despite being built a few years ago, would they do another early 2000s move and remove it for whatever is popular sometime around 2028?
We will be covering Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast & Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbara in separate videos sometime this year, thank you for the suggestions Randall.
I went to Orlando recently on a band trip, and I just remember all my friends complaining about the long ass line at Luigi's while I was next door at the Frying Dutchman with basically no line. To this day it's still some of the greasiest seafood I've ever had. But I agree on the tater tots, but you HAVE to try the coconut shrimp if you ever go back. It's probably my favorite thing there, and I'm not even that fond of coconut.
This is one of the Theme Park History videos I always comeback to watch. Being a giant Simpsons fan as a child this ride was the highlight of my holiday when it first came out. Just wish they could of done more with the body of materials before Disney started taking the IP
I dont even watch the Simpsons anymore, but the Springfield part at Universal was everything my young self would want to see. It was way too much fun, drinking beer at Moe's, waiting in line with the family, that freaking big ass poster at the food boulevard, with I guess all the character at the moment. Is a must even if you dont even like the series
I love this ride! I feel like the rides vehicle is kind of mild, making it feel like more of a show than ride. Great video though! Btw, can you do California Screamin next? & that fast and furious jab... lol!
This ride will forever leave a bittersweet memory to me, not because I hate it, but because I had a fun time with my ex-friend that he invited me to accompany him one summer, to which we had a terrible fall out years later for unrelated reasons. I even got a keychain over there, and I kept it ever since to only remember the good times I had with my old friend.
Never rode back to the future unfortunately but seen the footage & it looked fun! Really like the simpsons & the springfield area is a great part of the park.
I've ridden the USH version and it's TOP NOTCH! I wasn't even aware of its presence in the park (and confused as it was 20CF IP) but I MARVELED at its immersiveness. I absolutely felt like I was walking through Springfield. And the ride, story, and script were HYSTERICAL! Marge (on the out of control roller coaster) screams, "We're all gonna DIE!" Homer replies, "No we're not, Marge! Theme parks won't LET you die as long as you've got one single dollar left in your pocket!". Their riffs on ALL the theme parks and entertainment companies was pure Simpsons.
"All of the seats are exactly the same, except for the ones that are different." -My favorite line from Homer! I was one of the last to ride Back to the Future and one of the first to ride The Simpsons soft open. Loved them both!
Been to both. I loved the Hollywood one because it is literally my backyard. However, so much more to do in orlando version. Love the alien twirl and love duff yet it's so overpriced.
This is one of my best rides at Universal! They should never remove it ! It would feel so empty without it and if people want Back to the Future so much, Universal should just make it replace a less important attraction, like Fear Factor Live!
yes they sould remove it, or this ride could kill Star Tours : The Adventure Continues And once they remove it, i have two options : 1 : Bring back the old Back To The Future ride 2 : Make a Rick & Morty themed ride
Thanks for you for showing my comment! I’m the biggest Simpsons fan, but I am an even bigger Back to the Future fan and I’m still so sad that ride is gone 😭😭
@@MsShadowPokemon if you want a more stomachable ride than Back To The Future : The Ride, just see Body Wars (At Epcot) PS : Body Wars is now closed with the pavillion since 2007
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts has been added to the list, thank you for the suggestion Anthony. Just a heads up, we will be covering Hogsmeade before Diagon Alley, so it might be a while before we get there!
I worked at Universal Studios Hollywood during my HS years and I was there when this ride opened. We got an employee preview night, we rode it before it open to the public. It was a cool, we got posters and lanyards which I still owe today. Fun Times !
I remember when they first opened this ride. I was in the 5th grade and fox did a promotion for it. Answer Simpson's trivia correctly and one person would win 4 tickets to universal and a week at the hardrock hotel. My mom ended up winning. My dad lucked out and met godsmack at the pool. I saw them live that night. Only thing though. Roaches. The hardrock hard a roach problem. That may have just been something they were dealing with when I was there and I know roaches are everywhere but still. You don't expect roaches in your coffee at the hardrock.
One time in Zoo Tycoon I made a theme Zoo of Universal Studios where I put a Great White Shark (pretending it was Jaws), Rabbits (making it be Watership Down, which is an animated movie that Universal owns the rights in the United Kingdom), various dinosaurs (both pretending that they are the dinosaurs from both Jurassic Park and The Land Before Time), as well with Zoo scenery (most of them not related to universal) of The Boneyard and just some rides and buildings to make it look like rides.
I think the biggest thing to come out of the Disney-fox deal is that homer can now use the notes a-flat and g-natural when writing his Christmas carols
