The thing is I bet the Thing was just happy to see his thing again, and the really great thing is that the Thing got to share share his thing with Alicia.
As much as a "Jerk" Johnny is towards Ben, deep down Ben knows he's a guy with golden heart. Even Ben himself got extremely depressed when Johnny was trapped in Negative Zone.
That's the thing about Johnny. He's a cocky, showboaty, honestly kind of jerky person. But even with that, you'd be harder pressed to find someone as true of a friend in Marvel as Johnny is to those around him.
@@BlindDragoon the best bros are like that. They will laugh at you being in the hospital for doing dumb shit while making sure you are as comfy as possible.
Just imagine that you have an ability to turn off your ability but the stress because of your ability is so strong that you are not able to turn off the ability that you are so stressed about
Fun fact: there was a study conducted once on a group of people who had insomnia. They were issued a strong drug that they were told would amp up their system and make it impossible to get to sleep. You heard what I said: the insomniac were given a drug to PREVENT sleep. It turned out that afterward, a lot of them dropped right off. What had been keeping them awake was anxiety about not being able to get to sleep, so once they knew sleep was impossible the anxiety went away and so did their problem.
@@Mereologist As someone who has crippling insomnia related to other co-morbid mental health issues, this is a whole load of bullshit. Nothing I can find on the internet supports this wacky ass misinformation. I can't speak for everyone, but my anxiety is a symptom and is treated as such by my therapist, and any other good mental healthcare practitioner. My insomnia (primary factors being intense repeated traumatic stress and persistant psychosis) and many people's insomnia, is not formed from anxiety, their relationships to each other are complex and very much case-by-case, as referenced: (Copied from a scientifically evidenced National Institue of Health Article) ''Are there studies on lack of sleep and anxiety? ''These findings were replicated for chronic insomnia in a recent study, which further showed that, insomnia appeared before the anxiety disorder in 18% of cases, anxiety and insomnia appeared about, in the same time in 38.6% of cases, and anxiety appeared before insomnia in 43.5% of cases.'' Just fuckin Google stuff.
Absolutely love how Hickman shows how truly Fantastic each member of the Four are. They absolutely deserve their status in the Marvel Universe as the golden family.
The biggest take away from me is that in a way, we're all The Thing, needing our own human torch to help burn away our insecurities and help get us over ourselves.
@@Mulletman_Comicsin the future I am potentially making a marvel Lego stop motton series and I don’t yet have any voice actors on standby I would need a thing and a Johnny va
This is why You're one of my favorite youtubers because I don't get to read these comics so it's cool to go through them with you. Like if a friend told me about this issue
i wonder if bens poker night would be all that different even as the thing since he is surrounded by super guys anyway, i feel thats something he can still enjoy as the thing
I get the feeling it still would have been the same either way. They’d all need a bit of a bigger table but you could totally see something like this in the MCU, after some long fought battle the guys just sitting down, playing some card games and having a few beers.
@@petconerd1984 Pretty sure thats because its tradition for Ben to host a poker game, with the winnings being donated to a charity of the winners choice
Ben is one of my favorite characters too. I'll never get tired of your deep dives into his stories. I always found it interesting - Reed could cure him in a heartbeat, but the real problem was making it so Ben could transform just like everyone else on the team. He LIKED his powers, he wanted what Johnny had, for example.
0:06 The way the Thing originally looked. One of my favourite comics as a child was Marvel Two-In-One #50 when the Thing went back in time and fought himself in 1961.
Johnny is the best wingman Ben may find him aggravating most of the time, but he still cares about him immensely and I’m so glad Ben was able to get his greatest week
I forgot Alicia is blind and was like, imagine you date a big giant rock monster and your first thought is “hey something looks different, did you get a haircut oooorrr”
Hey man, just wanted to let you know your voice acting is damn good. From the voices themselves, to how you deliver each character's lines, the dialogue between them, everything is just excellent.
What's Crazy About This Is When The Thing Took The Cure & Became Human Again, He Must've Thought This Was A Prank & Then He Started Yelling At The Human Torch, Who Started To Laugh.
I love the image of Ben with Cap and all the heroes. I love when heroes are just being friends doing normal shit and not fighting each other for some dumb reason.
Thank you for sharing the Thing stories that you do man. The Thing has been my favorite hero since I was a little Tyke. And it's been amazing how he's been relevant to me at different times in my life for different reasons. He just has so much humanity to him and represents to me how powerful super hero stories can be. There are too many great Thing stories for me to count, especially if you read up some of his great Marvel Two in One shenanigans, but if I had to pick one, It would be FF40. If you've never read that one, look it up. It's not exactly Thing-Centric, but it's one of the most impactful moments of his.
The Thing has always been one of my most favorite characters. This was an excellent issue because in the classic FF stories, Ben and Johnny would sometimes hang out with each other but not often.
I always get hung up on the Fantastic Four. On the one hand they seem really wholesome and inspirational, and on the other they let their youngest child have play dates with the worst mass murderer in human history. That is severely messed up.
Awww, Ben Grimm/The Thing is my favorite superhero of All Time, but I've Never seen This story!😳😳😳 Big Big THX for Posting This, I cried at the end, it was soooo Beautiful!!!🥲🥲🥲❤❤❤😃😃😃🥰🥰🥰
Heck ben grimm was never a monster to us kids growing up in 70s Brooklyn New york.we indentifed more with him than almost any other character marvel or dc. I remember my friend drew a great comic scene of him punching superman across the page saying..."it's clobberin' time sups!"
I love all of your amazing videos and comic videos that you do PS I wanted to ask we need more Marvel Spider-Man comics and more about alternate universe of Spider-Man and parallel worlds about Spider-Man also please
Too bad the cure is only temporary; I'd love to read another modern story where Ben has to choose between being the Thing or being permanently replaced on the Fantastic Four because he chose to be human.
