There are countless healthy habits that improve our lives. But I have found that when I practice just three effectively, most of the others take care of themselves.

Yes & Amen! Thank you Joshua! I eat green and try so hard to eliminate sugar most days! I find I feel better when I do no sugar and eat a salad every day I am an OMADer and eating this way I have more energy at 75 I am now exercising everyday just started this routine again last week. I am on my way to optimizing my later days to be better than my former days. Spending quiet time each AM with my Father as he leads me into the day He has awaken me into as His gift to me I feel abundantly grateful blessed & thankful. Thank you Joshua for confirming that I am on the right path. I give love to all today because God loves you and me very much. Blessings on your day. ❤️🙏🏽💐❤️💐🙏❤️

God bless you Joshua. Thank you so much for your encouraging and inspiring words. It's great to listen to someone who loves the Lord Jesus and I'm so grateful that everything on your channel really stems from that relationship you have with the Lord. Today's message was just another example of that. I just feel so encouraged in my Christian life every time I listen to your messages. I really do thank God for your channel, because it is such a breath of fresh air in a world that is often so hostile towards the way the Bible says we should live. Thank you for being a blessing and for all the positive messages you give each week. They really help me.

I do ok limiting the sugar and I find eliminating it entirely to be so much harder. Lol. I find that allowing myself little sugar ‘nips’ keeps me from going on massive binge sugar crazes. I love how simple these videos are tho. I def cannot handle a 20 point, overwhelming checklist of “self improvement” goals. I love how this short, simple approach seems far more attainable.

I have been pondering lately, where exactly I went off track with my habits and how I could do “more good” to bring me back into living peacefully and content and it does come down to these three. They seem to prepare the soil and work as fertiliser for all the other good intentions to turn into habits…

Thank you Joshua. I have been following you from Italy for more than a year. I really appreciate your advice even though it is not easy and immediate for me to understand what you are saying because my English is very limited. May I ask you a courtesy? Would it be possible for you to add subtitles? I don't mean the automatic ones from RU-vid because there are often errors and you can't easily tell when a sentence starts and ends. Exact subtitles, inserted by you, would be of great help to all those who, like me, are not native English speakers. I will continue to follow you in any case. You are an extraordinary man.

I agree with you on nutrition except for one point... limiting carbohydrates. The people groups with the best longevity eat/ate high carb diets with lots of veggies, very little processed sugars, limited meat and virtually no dairy. I highly recommend the book The China Study for more on this topic, as well as any material produced by Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Dr. Collin T Campbell. Interestingly enough, this diet fits with the Biblical record of humans originally being vegetarians. High protein and fat diets are linked to kidney stones (too much protein), gull bladder stones (too much cholesterol), heart disease, cardiovascular disease, cancers, type two diabetes, atherosclerosis, bone density loss, and the list goes on. The body's preferred fuel source is glucose. I don't have a single friend who tried the keto diet and succeeded, they were obese, lost some weight, then gained it all back and then some...and even got gull bladder disease. Limiting carbohydrates makes your body think it's in starvation mode, so then when you do eat a little sugar your body starts sending signals to keep eating, leading to binge eating sugars and weight gain. I've tried both ways, and I have a very easy time saying no to sugar when I eat plenty of healthy carbs, but crave sugar like crazy if I try to restrict carbs. Not all carbs are bad, many, like fruit, are very good for you, but a low meat diet isn't in style right now, so few people hear about it and realize there's science behind it. Plus, because it's more of a liberal thing to be vegan, conservatives tend to view it as the liberal tree hugger diet, and meat is for real men😂.

Joshua❤ Eat more protein!! That will help curb your sweet tooth. Another trick that helped me was to train my brain to interpret desire for sugar as a need to drink a tall glass of water first - not a firm 'no' to the temptation, but an 'after a glass of water'. Inevitably the desire washes away by the time I finished hydrating💧
