The Three Passes Trek is in Nepal absolutely stunning. The Himalayan vistas are breathtaking, the people are incredibly friendly and the Dal Bhat is tasty. This trek takes you over 3 high passes; Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La, all over 5,000 meters (16k feet). A little swing to Everest Base Camp is frosting on the cake. I did this trek in mid-November to early December, there's no snowstorms at this time, but it's a little chilly at night. In this episode, I go off the Three Passes Trail and take a small detour to Everest Base Camp, which is totally worth it. After lunch, I scamper up Kala Patthar for a mind blowing sunset.

Back home this morning from dropping the kiddo off to Kindergarten. About -10 here in Missoula, Mt. Nice to have a warm cup of coffee and take a mini trip to Nepal! Thank you thank you! I hiked Mt. Whitney twice. Once on the mountaineers route. I remember thinking there is no way I'm going for Everest! Love the view you provided. Makes me want to get there some day. Thank you!

Dude 🤘 This is everything I was hoping to find in researching this very route... Wonderful videos Bro. Nov mosdef seems to be driest less crowded time to go. I heard the 3 passes can be closed and tea houses shut down but you didnt seem to have any issues at all. Cash or debit for most the trip? Did you get any food sickness? Tricks for clean water? Any suggestions are cery much appreciated. 😀🤟
@duzer

Thanks buddy! Nov-Dec is definitely the dry time to go....tea houses are definitely not shut down during this period. BRING CASH!!! you can have the tea houses boil water for you

Hello Ryan, It was great to watch all your videos, a lot of information! I'm traveling in late February to do the E.B.C , do you recommend some kind of sleeping bags? By the way.. your last video about Obama.. just awesome !! Thank you! Hope to hear from you soon.
@duzer
@duzer 7 лет назад
nice, you are gonna love it in Nepal. I recommend a small, lightweight sleeping bag that packs down. Every lodge will have blankets, and with your bag, you'll be nice a toasty. I've known plenty of people that didn't even pack sleeping bags and just used the blankets. So...small and packs down easily into your backpack.

Great videos! Can you see the khumbu icefall from base camp? Also, do you think its cool for a girl to do this trek alone here? I've never been to Nepal, I'm planning a trip for next year and want to spend most of it in the mountains. I thought a guide would be essential but I like my freedom!
@duzer
@duzer 7 лет назад
Thanks! You can totally do this alone, I've met many solo female trekkers. And yes, you can see the icefall from basecamp, it's incredible! Also, you don't need a guide, just buy a map at any shop in kathmandu and you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll make friends along the way as well.

Thanks so much, Ive read so many blogs saying it's not safe without a guide but I know I would feel restricited. Cant wait! :)
@a_light_writer
@a_light_writer 7 лет назад
Kat casey this is what they call tree house trek...you get guest houses on your way , so not typical tent-stay is needed. Thus guide is not needed even for female travellers depending on which season you are visiting. in December if you dare to visit, guide is advisable, but in April you have heavy trafficof poeple here. I am heading there in April.
@katcasey5313
@katcasey5313 7 лет назад
What happens in December? I'm aiming for October/ November.
@a_light_writer
@a_light_writer 7 лет назад
Kat casey due to the cold and snowfall many of the guesthouses are closed. People going there are very very few. I saw a video of Annapurna circuit of Nepal, whole villege was empty there in december. Do a thorough inquiry if you are going solo during that time. Let me know any question you have,as I am going there in April, I will try to find some answers.
