I debate which of the three special edition red Wiis I own is the best one. Main Channel: @ScottTheWoz Twitter: / scottthewoz Facebook: / scottthewoz Instagram: / scottthewoz
The fact that red is Scott's favorite color when the entire theming of his channel (along with the borders on every video) are blue is proof Scott is actually colorblind
@@gabrielbrouwer to be fair when I think of scott i think of him reviewing/talking about a nintendo product so a red channel theme would be fitting for him
he’s red green colorblind, so i think blue is one of the colors he can identify the easiest (i think..or he could mix up his blues and purples, who knows)
Australia had another version of this red wii! I remember ours came with NSMB, Wii sports and the 25th version of super mario brothers. It's weird that they changed this bundle's contents in different countries
Can also confirm that this some version was released in New Zealand! My Aunt got it for herself, was my first exposure to the original (or on this case, the 25th anniversary edition) Super Mario Bros, was really cool. I don't hear anyone talk about this version of the Wii but it seems like the best revision out of all four of the Red Wii's.
Australasia is generally treated as part of asia for a lot of game releases but still has to be changed for english language etc. so it does make sense
I remember when I got my red wii back in 2011 or so, and I still have it (without Mario bros Wii and Wii sports sadly) good and running and since it's the original model too I can play GameCube games which is a nice bonus
What about the Australian version? Comes with the edited Super Mario Bros. from the Japanese bundle (in English btw) and Wii Sports and New Super Mario Bros. Wii - both in actual game cases!
The American Heart Association uses red as their trademark and a lot of red stuff pre-Project RED (different effort) used the red coloring with the AHA to mark it as such, so it's fun to see that tie-in with a Wii.
So honestly, I love watching these vids on here. Compared to Scott's main channel, these are a lot more cozy. Very good background noise stuff, that I really just vibe with.
The Donkey Kong Original Edition actually came out on the 3DS as well as a Club Nintendo reward! I remember getting it as a kid, but it got delayed for a little while for some strange reason. It's definitely pretty cool.
The red nsmbw wii is so nostalgic to me, it was the first home console I started getting into gaming on when I was 7. Nsmbw, dkc returns and Mario galaxy were the first games that really introduced me to what a real video game was, as I had only played handheld leapfrog games and young child aimed pc and ps1 games that didn’t really have a true objective or replay value. I viewed these more as digital toys than full on experiences that take more than one play session to complete. But everything changed in 2010 when I got that red wii. It was the first time I ever realized a game could have a backstory and side quests / replay-ability.
The SMB 25th Anniversary one was my childhood Wii that I got for Christmas one year. Still have it, still works, still has the Homebrew Channel despite the fact I never actually got around to using it.
I actually have this Wii! Although unfortunately, I don't have the stand (I bought it without) but I do have everything else that came with it, box included, which is awesome
I know of another edition. My Australian release (not sure if it's exclusive to aus?) Was the same as the EU version, but had the Japanese super Mario bros 25th edition game in place of dk. Also wii sports & new super Mario bros came in full release cases
I recently picked one of these up at Value Village and I was super excited. It just feels good to pick it up. I can't explain it. It just has a more satisfying feel than non-red Wii's. I was all low key in the store but inside I was squeeling and doing a Mary Tyler Moore hat throw.
I have had the red Wii since it came out and it’s safe to say that this is my childhood console. I still regularly use it just because of how special it is to me.
Very interesting to see what Scott is spending those big RU-vid bucks on. Wouldn’t be my move but god love him, he wants those multiple “special” edition consoles.
I got the Mario 25th anniversary wii for Christmas 2009, and I still play that damn thing it still works really well! I actually did replace the disc drive myself, because it wasn’t reading any discs but after that little hiccup it still works beautifully
I remember I desperately wanted the red wii so My mom drove me to 15-20 different stores within like 200 miles of our house and I got the last one in Texas from toys R Us (at least they told me that’s what inventory showed). Still keep the box to keep it safe everyrime I move
I somehow got a red wii instead of other colors, not learning it was special until recently. I had to make my own Mario Bros Wii box since it didn't come with it. So, I'm the only person to not have to worry about the red case for New Supa Mario Wii.
I remember my first console was actually that Mario ds and i still have it and use it regularly, honestly probably one of my favorite owned special edition consoles that I have.
I got the black wii with two black remote plus and two black nunchuck and two white wheels. 🤦🏼♀️😭 Wii sports, Wii sports resort and Mario kart Wii. Quite the bang for the bucks spent 😉
I heard that the reason The pie factory stage had to be reinserted into the NES version is because the original cartridges didn't have enough storage space for all the levels. Donkey Kong original edition is the only version of donkey Kong I've ever played unless I maybe played it on a website somewhere back in the day if there was like a flash version or something but I wouldn't remember.
Hey scott for australia there was another edition of the red wii It came with super mario bros wii Wii sports and 25th edition mario bros With the 2 physical games coming in there cases
I remember when my parents got that one for Christmas for me and my brother. Eventhough my brother does not use it anymore it, I still like the Wii and use it often and try out the GameCube backwards compatibility with games like Paper Mario TTYD, Super Mario Sunshine and Wario World. There will not be another great Nintendo console bundle like this one
