Nebula user here, would it be possible for special episodes like your Macau one to be under a creator's profile? If one follows a creator they don't get notified of specials, if one sees the special and decides to follow the creator the app actually only makes them follow the special, not notifying them of the other videos of the creator. It would also be nice to have recommended videos not only of the same creator but also of creators in the same field underneath a video. The app as a whole also tends to be a bit slow even with a good internet connection and misses the option to watch videos in a lower quality for the times the connection is not so good. I'll be honest, the price is pretty cheap for the amount of content offered, but these and many other little quirks of the app always bring me back to using RU-vid for all videos that are uploaded on both platforms.

Use any China app is like let a hacker taking care of your pc or phone. Dumb.

Cory Watson Every major company in China have to have CCP party members. They will comply to whatever the government demands. I doubt they will not share the data if the government asks.

US companies are the ones making money off of and using that data. For all you know Apple, Google, Samsung, and Oneplus ALREADY log your keystrokes and gps location through the hardware. @@roiiam it's a little different since 'app' was barely a term at the time. netflix for example wasn't even an app yet, they were still mailing DVDs in the mail. so it's better to think of it as domesticating the internet rather than banning apps that didn't exist yet.

It's absolutely not. Vine had the same concept yeah, but their algorithms were shit. TikTok on the other hand knows what you like after 30 minutes of using the app. You don't have to build your own feed like you would on Twitter or Instagram, the app does it for you. That's a big reason why it's so successful: it knows what you want to watch.

Vine didn’t have a way through which creators could earn money directly like Adsense by RU-vid so creators had no incentive to make videos there, while tiktok has such a program
