She has always carried herself very well in her public life. She has always kept her private life very private in a good way. Besides being beautiful on the outside she has a classy reputation as a French woman actor.
Obviously she’s physically attractive, beautiful. But the physical combined with her intelligence, frankness, reserve and mystery is what really makes Catherine Deneuve really attractive and desirable. THAT’S sophistication. And she’s one of the great actors.
Catherine Deneuve is such a great actress. I wouldn’t wear black, but i cannot find another beautiful video with this great actress ❤️ Catherine Deneuve wears many colorful outfits in this video. And Roman Polanski is mentioned here, but i do not think he is bad film director.
Yes! He’s also hyper focused on her beauty constantly asking her “what is it like to be the most beautiful woman in the world?” As if that’s all she has to bring to the table.🙄🤡
Catherine Deneuve along with Sophia Loren is an exquisitely beautiful woman. Their beauty is timeless, they were beautiful young women and now they are beautiful not so young women.
Such a complete woman even her voice pitch and timbre exudes sensuality and femininity. We’ll never ever see another Catherine Deneuve in our lifetime.❤
I couldn't agree with you more : pushy, disagreeable in tone and somewhat impudent in delivery. He shakes his head ' no ' as she is finishing her answer to his question. Impertinent, rude manner in the presence of a cultured, sophisticated woman. For shame, sir.
as beautiful as intelligent and yes she really was for a long time the most beautiful elegant woman in the world, 75 now and close to 130 movies ....she keeps going strong , sacrée Deneuve !!!
OMG this is literally the worst interview. Can he ask about anything other than her 'sex' appeal? How about her life? Her passions? What inspires her? Her craft as an actor? LORDT!?
I cannot stomach this interviewer (Bob Simon) -- He is coarse --especially sitting next to Catherine Deneuve - He has a speech impediment with his R sounds which he tries to hide -- and worst of all -- he attempts to pronounce French names in French. This sounds affected and doubly annoying because his French accent sucks. Why did they let this old troll interview her? Everything about him is sickening.
Agree!!!!! And especially trying to get her to talk about her lover Marcello Mastroianni! You know most celebrities these days don't talk about their past love affairs, especially for the deceased!
Agree. He's always terrible. Very terrible. Arrogant, affected, rude & coarse. I'd noticed that many years ago. I much prefer the worldly, debonair, relaxed & comfortable Morley Safer of "60 Minutes".
Great actress, terrible interviewer. He seems to have an overly exotic, stereotypical notion of the French and French women. Deneuve, in all her grace and beauty, puts up his absurd questions.
Egads, the interviewer is horrible. When he was shaking his head no while she was answering a question...his superior attitude or when he’s telling her what French women or people are like..!
What an embarrassingly shallow interview. Typical American press. So many questions he could have asked this incredible woman and he just wallows in the tabloid questions…
I actually didn't realize she was still alive and when they said she was 70 I thought --well that's nice. I really would like to have the contact phone number of her plastic surgeon because I had judged her face is not being the face of her youth which was oval and so very elegant but actually for her age her face is excellent and she's obviously had fillers and she's extended her jaw line so her face is squarish which she definitely did not have in her youth and through the heyday of her acting. That said it really becomes her. She definitely does not look like a frail old lady but she has a face actually more like Ingrid Bergman who has a typically Swedish face-- square with a touch of roundness to it that gives it a feminine quality. So I thought this was quite nice to listen to her speak because she's very articulate; she's very thoughtful and actually I was quite impressed. I will say as regards to the most beautiful woman in the world I'm not sure when that was given to her that title but there are many and it's sort of odd she didn't say Liz Taylor or Marilyn Monroe. But so it goes😊
and this years 2018 she is 74 and pretty...my own French heritage comes out too and I understand her when she said, "they have to deserve me"........yes..they do have to deserve me too for all I have to offer!
She's highly intelligent, very selective, very cool, very collected. I've seen about 20 of her films, her talent and ability are remarkable. She is the grande dame of French film, hands down. There are many incredible French actresses, Huppert, Haenel, multiple others. Too many to mention.
She is the epitome of exquisite, the epitome of feminine grace, intelligence & she is just incredibly cool in every sense. I would reccomend Vadim's 1986 book, 'Bardot, Deneuve & Fonda'. He tells but never 'tells on' & treats his subject matter with respect and affection.
tov ylixir I bought it at the library it was a used book being sold. I read it several years ago and have read it about 3 times. I found it excellent, however quite sad in parts, vis a vis Bardot. One of my very favorite anecdotes, however, has to do with an airport and it's something that would never happen nowadays. Another has to do with BB and another young actress but for now my lips are sealed, lol! I won't giveaway any more than that but you will know what I mean when you read it. I would be interested in knowing how you like the book :)
This may be a rather contrarian view, but I quite enjoyed the late Bob Simon's approach and interview style here. The dynamic between he and Deneuve was unique to what I've seen in her many other interviews. His questions elicited some fascinating responses from her. He had a varied and commendable career in journalism but this interview with Catherine Deneuve is embedded in my memory.
