I would chose the Mango coat. However, I prefer navy over black and last winter I found a vintage, oversized, double breasted, navy coat by Burberry. Not as long as the trendy ones, but more practical in my car😊Have a lovely sunday

I’m really looking forward to black coat weather, so that I can start wearing my bargain from last year - a long Max Mara classic version (about £1800 new) that I found in a charity shop for £50 last summer. I wore it all last winter and it’s absolutely spoilt me for any other version! But I do agree that the Mango coat is the best of those you have shown here, especially for the money.

I’m petite so anything extra long and oversize make me look like I’m wearing my dad’s coat 🤣 The Karen Millen one would prob be the best option for me. It’s similar to the Burberry coat I snagged from Vestiaire! 🥳

@@diopfifi4937 I understand where you are coming from but Im a very short guy myself and I don't hesitate to wear long and oversize clothing. Even tho the "rule" for us is to be aware that it might make us shorter or swallow us is more important to wear what feels good.

As someone who did the big shoulder pads in the 1980s …. I really do not like the big shoulders in most of these coats … not part taking of this trend this time around, it looks very unbalanced to me now

Thank you Jess, I think you choose the best coat from Mango as long as it isn't heavy. I have a long column black shearling coat that's BOMB. I got it in the early 90s it's timeless & gorgeous. It is reversible and can be worn on the leather side or shearling side. Honestly, I wouldn't be able to afford this coat nowadays. I've seen ones like it recently for thousands. I haven't worn mine much over the years but I'm going to this winter🙏🏽💞🤗😊

Hi Jess, I agree, the Mango one looks the best. I've just taken delivery of two Mango coats and yes it took forever, I also ordered two from H&M and one of those still hasn't arrived! I did find it hard to see the black coats you were showing, I find that on websites too. Hope you've been enjoying our 'Spanish' weather, great isn't it 😃 x

I really like this video! The basic black coat is a must. I have a long, single-breasted, 100% wool London Fog coat with fur-trimmed hood which I have had for over 15 years. It still looks and feels awesome! Classic never goes out of style.❤

Hi Jess. I really enjoyed today’s video and it’s always great to contrast and compare similar items from the high street and to hear the pros and cons of each one. When I was looking for a trench coat a couple of seasons ago, I was surprised to find exactly what I wanted at H&M. I’ve found it invaluable in my capsule wardrobe and for the price I paid, I’m more than satisfied with the quality and style. Hello my friend Jess, I love this video. Last year, I purchased a black cashmere full length coat that has a bit of a hourglass/ masculine cut. This works for my petite figure. If I do the fully masculine cut, it looks like a robe on me 😂😂. All of these look fantastic, but my favorite is the hourglass cut. I appreciate your suggestions . Having just finished editing my Winter outerwear closet am donating all but one dress coat to a women's shelter as find the midi/maxi lengths now too heavy for my current frame. That being said; the one that I did keep is surprisingly the oldest of them all and about thirty years old if not more but in perfect condition and wasn't outrageously priced at the time of purchase. It is a black 'n white tweed with a rich-red lining, a 100% pure wool and almost identical in style (exception the decorative pocket and has four buttons) to that of the Mango one. (Originally it came with a black, real fox fur removable collar.) All said; wonderful lineup Jess and wishing you continued success in your channel. (From: Canada and am 76 years old.)

I really enjoyed this video. Please do more of this kind comparing different brands. In regards to coats I chose COS for myself. I tried Mango as well, but liked the fit and fabric less. COS coat is very slimming and the length is perfect for me. I found Mango coat too bulky and not particularly flattering.

Well, I don’t like harsh black on me - charcoal is my color ; nor do I like masculine, double breasted or oversized. 😂 As an inverted triangle, shoulder pads are definitely out. So… I’ll sit this trend out. 😂

Hi! Since you have "touched and tried " them all on, I was wondering if you felt like some showed less lint (or blonde hair) than the others. I find fabric really matter! I have a Navy pure heavy wool coat that I cannot keep lint off of, but cashmere seems to be less clingy but it is a lighter color. I am hestitant to get black becuase I have long blonde hair...! Possibly I should think about how to keep my hair in my head instead, haha!

Oh my goodness this is so true! Some wools are just a nightmare for showing it and others seem to avoid it altogether! It's frustrating but true to say that the more expensive coats didn't seem to have this issue but I did notice it with the H&M and Weekday. Not such an issue for brunettes but for blondes it can be annoying! Hope that helps you make the right decision:)

Mango IS the lighter one and Iblike the fliwy Grey skirt. How should we war a Long black Costa when black IS too harsch to the Teint? I would Love to know your opinion about it. Which Accessoires would lichten the black Costa? ❤

Hi Jess. I’ve just bought the Cos coat because it was so hard to find in stock! I am waiting for the Mango coat to come back in stock to compare it. Would you say you noticed any difference in the weight of these two coats? It might help me if I can’t get hold of the Mango coat! Thank you ☺️

Hi Kate, I’d say the pair of those were pretty similar in weight, I would just say possibly size up in the mango one and down once in the Cos one for that perfect (slightly oversized) fit:)

Hi Jess, the H&M version was my least favorite. You looked good in all of them but the H&M looked too big and cheap to me. Like you, I didn’t like the tab and buttons on the sleeves. I’m a petite girl so I don’t wear anything too long or oversized. I’ve worn the same black, double breasted trench coat for over 25 years. It’s a classic and looks good over anything I wear. Also, I just want to say that I enjoy watching you for your sense of style. Although I try to update my wardrobe each season, I still gravitate to classic style and looks. Thank you for your style advice.

I find that polyester-blend coats don’t really keep me warm, I prefer 100% wool, with a breathable rayon lining. They are more expensive, but well worth it, and if in a classic style, can be worn for a lifetime. I still wear my beautiful Dior mulberry-colored one that is almost 40 years old, it looks brand-new, even after daily winter wear during my whole career. Because my Dior is a swing style, I’m looking for new coats with a fitted waist, I just ordered a beautiful navy blue one in a wool/cashmere blend (rayon lining). I’ve been looking for a high-quality navy coat for at least 20 years. I have several unsatisfactory poly-blend black coats, so my next coat purchase will be a black one. I could have bought one perfect one with the money I wasted on three meh ones over the last 15 years.

The high street just means the chains of shops you would find on a Main Street in any average town or city rather than designer shops. I hope this helps 😊
