I love that you are featuring more DIY projects, like the mini-zine. I love making one-page projects like this and handing them out to family and friends. It’s great to see what other people have done and where they are taking this concept.

David Schuster's "SAVAGES" zine's first layout draft pdf was shown in Dan Minor's channel. I guess David took a workshop in Albania with Dan Milnor and Elena Dorfman. There he produced this work. Dan and Elena has a conversation video on Dan's YT channel where they talk about (among other stuffs) David Schuster's work, and how he had sequenced his images in the pdf. Dan also told how David could spot images in the street where no else could. Thought I should share this, owing to the fact that I became very excited seeing David's zine here :)

Once again I have to praise you and your content for always catering to such a broad a diverse view of photography. I love that the content is not too in the weeds on technical specs, and that there is so much discussed between different mediums (love the film content), concepts, and ideas. Bravo

I really like Savages by David Schuster. I was pleased to see the cost of the zine was a reasonable CAD$22.74 and I'm happy to support creators at that price. Sadly, shipping costs these days are making that harder to do. The cheapest shipping is CAD$17.99 and can be as high as CAD$53.99! I once shipped a framed photo to my Father-in-Law in Japan, and the cheapest shipping I could find was almost CAD$100!! Another problem is that I’ve sometimes been hit with import duties PLUS the courier’s fee for processing the duties, which cause a reasonably priced book to be outrageously expensive. I love collecting photo books, but I’m finding that shipping takes up more and more of my photo book budget. Sorry for the rant. It’s certainly not the creator’s fault.

Hey, I’ve used Scribus to make zines of the same format. Two pages, then add page dividers - one horizontal guide, three vertical, which divides the page into 8 equal segments. Beware of the order of photos after printing of course (‘page’ 1 = bottom right segment, ‘page’ 2 = top right segment etc.) You can also set that photos ‘snap’ to guides, so they will line up handy. I then use the second page as a kind of poster, full page print of a photo.

Keep up the great work on your channel, inspiring others in the art of photography!. I am impressed by the excellent works you reviewed on your channel, great for all the authors. You give voice to these projects and make them visible. The zines are great, and I'm trying the one-page idea as well. Also, mentioning that you ensure to review a work that was sitting in the pile says a lot about your commitment to your audience. Cheers, Alfredo
