Lots to know about these little things and I always have good stock of the TR-413s. I love the random added videos you throw in all the time. Thanks again for yet another shout out and Mr Schrader would be proud.

Spit on it brudda! That’s some awesome information about the often ignored valve stems. The only thing I could add is that if you get two rubbers with your metal valve stems don’t use one on the inside and one on the outside like I have done for years. I just watched a video to see if I could learn something about valve stems I learned that they give you two for different hole sizes. I picked up some information on your video as well. Thank you!

How can I tell what tire valve stem is installed? I recently had the rear tires replaced, but instead of matching the old valve stems they installed stems that are so short I can’t get an air chuck onto them once the trim ring is installed. The front tires have the old, correct length so I need to figure out what size they are so I can request them specifically at the shop.

Nice video the tip about using a bottle jack to break the bead will be handy.

Interesting! Note that painted steel trims are often rusting around the valve holes and that may cause slow leaks on tubeless tires. So it important to be really careful with the rim paint when replacing the valves.

Amazing timing - I had been searching amazon for the best reviews on a TR600HP type schrader. I'm replacing my 3500 RAM tires, which are load range "E" and rated up to 3195 lbs @ 80 psi (sidewall crack defect on the OEMS). Tire shops dont carry HP valves, so I am purchasing my own. Just as you point out, 65psi is the limit for snap-in. Incidentally, it seems easier to get a clamp-on type valve, as there seems to be a greater variety out there. One thing about clamp ons, if you have a recess or clear area on the rim to permit an external clamp on, get those. You must break the bead to install them, but you can retighten them while the tire is mounted - just in case they leak. This is the second time, Brian, that you've posted a video on a topic that I was actively researching. Last time was the gambrel roof. Thanks again for the videos.

Was NOT everything one needs to KNOW...they told me at pepboys they could not mount new tires because they lack having the old style smaller valve stems Damn it! I want to BUY them but can't fina ANYONE talking about the different diameters! What a waste of time THIS was

Very cool. We had some old farm equipment tires on bush hogs, the dodge ram couldn't even break the bead. We had to burn the tires off the rims, but it was fun trying.

Albion Laster I'm going for the bathing suit model here. Make it long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep it interesting. It will take me a while to get proficient at it, but this is a good start.

Which valve stems would you keep stocked in a two bay shop that doesn't do tires in high volume, but does them seldom? I was told to stock 413s and 600hps. What would you stock Brian? I want to make sure I'll have everything I need. I've had instances where I've needed longer stems to achieve enough protrusion past hub caps, as well as that occasion where I've needed an even longer 418 stem. I also want to make sure I'm not stocking stems I'll never use. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the vid Brian. Do you know if there are only 2 size holes on most rims and what size they may be ? I need to change out my valve stems to remedy a clearance issue when installing Centramatic wheel balancers and tire pressure monitoring units on my motor home with 19.5 in. rims. Always something to challenge what should be an easy job...see Murphy's Law ! J K

Hey buddy I'm going through the same thing,,I have an rv and the nut on the outside of the stem is impossible to unscrew with a wrench, how did you get it out?
@peterlakers1
@peterlakers1 2 года назад
@@MrLeo92335 I use breaker bar.. a long pipe to extend it, the breaker bar for leverage..be careful, not to lose balance... The longer the pipe the less force you need to loosen the nuts...

The title of the video was fine even before he changed it, I was just in an engine state of mind, I've been doing a total engine rebuild on my dirt bike this week and tires were the last thing on my mind haha.

I like the all metal ones because they don't flex when you're putting air in it. Seems like they'll last forever.
