That doesn't matter only time it would matter if your axles are strong enough to handle is if you were under a load trying to pull or do a big burnout creating excessive twisting force from the motor and the excessive inertial weight that you have to overcome
@@JuarezDerrick'm pretty sure that is what he meant!! Or he could have meant eight "not" sets of 1 lol. But yes you are absolutely correct, only 4 sets on that ride definitely would be crazy to see 8 sets on the rear. 16 tires that would not only be expensive AF but insanely crazy as well!!
That hammered out half dead engine proved tougher than expected and for some reason it still lives. Looking at the frame and how it was put back together when it was narrowed it was surprising that it held up as long as it did. That rearend surviving as well as it did however especially with the bouncing and flexing was the biggest surprise of all. Other than the purely insufficient framework that was done to connect it back together, that truck has given me an appreciation for the advertising slogan Built Ford Tough…..because that thing proved that it WAS tough. It would be interesting to see how it would have done if the frame had been welded and braced properly and had a good running engine in it. Goodbye Chevrolet truck…you were just blown away by a ratty old Ford.
im sorry but "built ford tough" is BS in my opinion. We bought a brand new RV with a ford motor home chasis. Didn't even get home (legit within the first 24 hours of owning it) and the rear axel seized up and snapped the driveshaft and pogosticked the RV, shoved the axel out of place, all because ford forgot to put oil in the rear axel.
@@jearlblah5169 newer fords are known to seize especially the rear axle my buddy bought a 2020 Ford F-150 lariat ecoboost and maybe had it for a few weeks N the rear axle N diff seized at 60mph while hauling 1500 pounds of scrap
It’s hard to kill an IDI. Seriously have you ever seen what Peg from Zip Ties and Bias Ply’s has done to one and the dam things still keep coming back for more abuse and all the ether they can huff
I just want you to know that I was so touched to hear your story of how you got your job with Heavyd. You are so so smart and I know they are so glad you are a member of their crew. You are so precious. Don't think I'm hitting on you because I'm 71 and just think you are a very special young man!!! God bless you and I know there is no limit to where you will go in your life. Love all of your videos...
Hey Hunter Goodrich! That was a classic! I didn't think the wheels and axles would make it off the trailer in one piece Bro? That was awesome to see it put together and make it as far as it did to Funny Great job on it you and the guys Great content and vids it would of been nice to see it as a dually first but I get your too the Extreme side!🤔😉👍📹✔️💯👋👋👋👋👋
Have to say hunter Goodrich the stuff you come up with is very interesting to see how it comes out I'm impressed with the rear end and the welding you did that was amazing to see I just knew something was going to break and yet nothing did so I will be waiting for your next video always fun to watch for a good laugh
A buddy of mine years ago had a mid 80's 2wd nissan pickup, that he was driving around without a bed on it. I had an 82 datsun 4x4 with an extra set of 33's, so I suggested mounting two of them on the rear end. That thing looked so cool all jacked up in the rear, and he actually drove it for quite a while like that because it looked so outrageous.
Fact that Dave let's you play like this. I get it though, all you're doing is practicing your craft so that you're only that much better when he needs you.. You're living the dream.
Damn Hunter if i was 40 years younger i'd love hanging with you ! That is crazy idea stuff like i used do clear into my early 40's & i'm 63 now & tamed down a bit !
How about some walking mounts between the tires that let them walk higher or lower than the tire next to it while keeping the same center line so they drive in conjunction with the other tires? It’ll take the flex off the axle and look really, really awesome.
So sick Heavy D let’s you use all his stuff cause I was wondering how you were gonna drive that thing thru the streets to where you were off roading. Sick build tho!!
You are a mad man. Love it. Would have been easier to make some 8" wide wheel spacers. And should have balanced those tires, would have done wonders for the ride quality.
