Actually it's true the tokaido is made in pakistan. They also mentioned it on their website. The "Tokyo Japan" meant that they are a brand from Tokyo, Japan and not implying that they are made in Japan. Plus they themselves said the gi are made according to the usual Tokaido standard. Meaning the material is the same but the assembly is done at pakistan because it's cheaper to have a factory there and they can easily find manpower compared to japan
Tokaido is a japanese brand, their WKF approved products are made in their factory in Pakistan. It's also one of the fistr companys focused on producing karategis, if not the first one ever. It was founded in 1956. Arawaza is a 25 years old canadian brand. However any of those things define the quality of their prodducts. Also, Tokaido Kata Master Athetic are blue on purpose.

Funny I have two tokaido's, a old meikyo (Brazilian - very simular to Shureido), one seisin and one shureido.. And I can assure you that Sureido and Meikyo are slightly blue. It is intentional, to avoid yellowing natural process, so it will becomes, eventually, white... And the another ones have the same "blue tonality" in major or minor scale. There's no "white Japanese", the something that is beyond white isn't white. Actually I do appreciate a lot Tokaido's karate gi and I can easily keep the "blued white" with indigo washing stones, the case is: after some time using it to "keep" the "white Japanese", the canvas becomes grey, and, eventually, gain that yellowing that we won't have on it. Anyway, nice video ... (Y) Oh, Shizuo Sugiura was the founder of Tokaido... Before him didn't exist karate gi. So, that's it ...
The kata master is made in China and Pakistan I had the original which was made in China and it had the blue tinge to it as well the top tokaido GI are made in Japan but the quality is not too far removed also the IATA master is white because the new versions have a polycotton blend I always find the tokaido to be the best GI ive had so far never had arawaza but seishin doesn't come close to tokaido and kaiten are the nearest to there standard
I'm not sure that these gi's are comparable. If you want a Tokaido gi produced in Japan, it is possible too, but you have take another model. Try the Hayate or the Yakudo and you will get real japanese gi's.
Have you ever tried shureido nw3? I'm choosing a new gi and here are the options on my mind: shureido nw3, arawaza amber evo or arawaza black diamond, also, what are the main differences between the amber and the black diamond?
Peter Ander I have my Adidas Elite gi for two years now and i think it's a pretty god one, it's comfortable and thick, but the pants are quite short in comparison to the jacket, so i always get in trouble at competitions. I will probabebly get a new one with longer pants soon

Well they are both very good. I like the Tokaido more my self because I have done Shotokan Karate Do for over 30 years and this is the GI I started with and have had for some time. But now the pants on the Arawaza are very nice and fit well. You should look into it and let me know what you think.
