It's like the jikka Rig, I have used it few times its good on short cast deep water, doesn't work as good from shore. Great video give it try with 3 way swivel too

Not just for bass fishing it could be used for a short bottom bouncer slow trolling swim baits or drifting. Depending on hook size be used with large chubs. Easy to make. Great video.

Why cant USA come up with cutting edge techniques. Everything cool had came from Japan the last 10 yrs. This seems like a good way to power fish the bottom during winter. Thanks Alex.

The American market wants everything to be as low cost as possible which tends to hinder innovation where as the Japanese won't comprise quality for anything including price. So they come up with stuff that's always breaking the mold and pushing the envelope.

What happens if you use the "full"6 inches of wire? Would this not be a "short" drop shot? Is there a length that is too long?

I thought the same thing. Some of the videos I've seen out of Japan the dudes were using longer leaders. I bet it would work. I don't think there is a ton long per say.

Yes. Not a ton. I found the most success with it around grass. It becomes more prevalent this time of year for me.

Yeah you can cut it as long or as short as you want. I would leave it a tad long for the bend.

Makes it much harder to bend. I wouldn't suggest it. I tried a couple sizes up and it was a struggle to make a loop.

if you let the line go slack, then yes, it will fall. keeping the line taut will allow it to stay up. also, a dropshot will not rotate 360 degrees as well

If you put a hook/bend in the bottom of the rig does that make it prone to hooking material off the bottom alot? Is there a better way of doing that then putting a bend/hook the bottom of it?

Well it's really two totally different presentation. A C-Rig you have a tremendous amount of bait weight separation. It also allows you over a lot of water. The punch shot is more of a flipping style presentation. You could drag it around as well. I think though it shines it punching/flipping situation.
