RDR2 is up there with The Witcher 3 as my favorite game yet I aknowledge that that is due to how much I enjoy inmersing myself into the world, the story and characters. I got the platinum and there is a trophy that requires you to replay missions achieving X number of headshots, accuracy, time and that kind of stuff and the moment you strip the game of its pace, story and inmersion and you just play it for the objectives, the game actually becomes a chore. I'm surprised of how I can enjoy a horse ride of 5 minutes one moment and hate it when I'm not caring about what the characters say.

I can absolutely agree with you on Battlefield 5. I was hyped on there being something that might have brought back a bit of the combat depth from earlier Battlefields, and preordered the game after trying the Beta. Of course it was broken, but I just wanted something tactical, albeit mindless, with as much depth as you could get out of that. Having played around 50-70 really actively trying to make the game my main timesink, the gameplay just doesn't change from when I played the second hour in the Beta. You lost nothing from jumping ship early, the gameplay is incredibly shallow, it favors the shooters as said from Battle(non)Sense, and it also punishes anything that isn't a very mobile, on your feet playstyle, regardless of class. It was hard to realise that, as I was playing, it was just doing the same thing, over and over, in the way I approached an encounter, and trying to approach things in any other way wasn't functional, and neither were you as a player rewarded in the sense of gameplay by doing so. You should and would be running, always. Always moving, anywhere. They also hampered MMG and HMG, so that you had to be stationary against a contextually proper object, and in turn, standing still, leaving you at a disadvantage. The camping in the different battlefields was a problem, yes. The grenade spam was a problem, yes. Penalizing it in a way that makes it unconstructive, that makes you less effective in playing the game as it is supposed to be played, capturing points and helping out each other by tactical advantages, means you remove it as a feasible possibility apart from in very special and context specific situations. The most effective I was was when I ran around as Scout with the ZH semi-automatic, and two tapped people in the chest. You could clear anything practically, and any element of tactical depth is lost when a guy with a rifle runs out into the open, already fired a bullet into you before he crosses the corner, with a firerate faster than an average human reaction speed. It lost its depth because of how they wanted to appease the more casual crowd, making the most straightforward approach the most successful. You would think a game I would be so utterly good at, that I could easily just breese through by skill would be rewarding to play, but no. The gameplay lost its charm because it lacked depth to it. It was not rewarding because it lacked sustance, there was not really more to it than running and shooting. Any other approach to the game was ineffective, or put you at a disadvantage. Veichles felt less of a threat, humans felt less cohesive, classes didn't feel distinct, and both felt unable to create any tactical advantage apart from just being more guns on the ground, and the maps, whilst visually appealling, didn't feel as distinct as they could have. I really love your content. you are the one who made any if all Destiny content interesting to me (A game I do not and have never played), and I am sorry to hear about your dogs condition. I hope you made, or can make the most out of the time you have left with her, and that she has a graceful passing.

You know what one of my favorite parts of Spiderman PS4 was? The rumble mechanics. Sure, the webswinging was simplistic, but when you were swinging it and you were at your lowest point, it really felt awesome, and I made it fun for me.

I enjoy your reviews, but i can't agree on everything you say. I personally really enjoyed God of War and I think there is a clear reason why it is a game of the year for 2018. But after all we all have different experiences during our time playing the games. I relate to one thing and you to another witch is why I believe games are so great. I understand what you’re saying about JC4... and I agree with 95% of it. But I like and the fact that Rico has the large majority of his skills from JC3. Though I wish there were more *completely new* abilities, sections to an actual and fully fleshed-out skill tree, and weapons. Because while I like having access to most of Ricos older abilities, I don’t really care for the fact that there is ultimately very little to unlock, and if any one on earth wanted to, they could easily progress through the game without devoting any time to unlocking skills, abilities, and/or weapons. I have always taken issue with sequels that arbitrarily strip all of the characters knowledge and ability away… I’ve always felt that if the point of the sequel is to *continue* the story of the protagonist. Going fromunskilled pleb to ultra-badass, only for the sequels to somehow regressed the hero back to his unknowledgeable and unskilled state never made sense. I think the problem is that, you do have to have enough *new* skills and abilities that the player must work for and earn, But you shouldn’t spend half of the game unlocking a bunch of abilities you’ve had access to you since the first game. That’s why as much as gamers claim to want as much content as possible, I understand the Developers Dilemma of wanting to provide a full experience, without throwing everything out in on shot. Because people hate nothing more than a sequel that does nothing to add to the experience. It’s really a tough tight rope to navigate, I don’t envy developers in that regard.

I lightly disagree with the God of War stuff. I did feel they were holding back with the more epic stuff but i think they needed to build a bit on the series again. Im pretty sure we are gonna see 2 more games and im guessing they are holding alot of the world changing stuff till then.

I really don't think leaving RDR2 off the list was very fair. I am not saying you have to like it, but the way you talked in the video was more objective and made it sound like you were judging the game not based on personal opinion. To put it in perspective that is like me saying I don't think God of War should have been on this list because I personally don't like third person games. Still I loved the video and am a huge fan of your channel

The biggest problem I have with the Just Cause series is that the gameplay is fun, but it where’s off quickly. It just becomes a boring slog.

I love Celeste. But jeeeeeesssusssss the voices annoy me so much. I get they were trying to do the Banjo Kazooie, but god it's so annoying lol. Anywho, great reviews dude! I agree with you a lot on the God of War part, about how it just had these story beats that didn't make sense, or felt artificially padded.

Our family had a dog for about 15 years when I was in elementary school that passed away from cancerous tumors (and another diabetic dog that eventually passed from a tumor). It's a really hard thing to go through, especially when your lil boy starts showing bad effects of it. I know you said you don't want any sympathy, & that's not what this is. I just know it's always a difficult time period for anyone. Hope at the very least you get to enjoy your dog while you still can Renn. Can't wait for your movie video. seen Hereditary at your #1 spot so hopefully it's that. It was definitely my favorite horror movie of this year & it's been a pretty good year for horror. Bad Company Two was definitly the best one. I used to snipe across the map with shotgun slugs. As the rushing team on Valparaiso, wed always throw all our c4 on the quad and ride it down the hill off the ramp, jump off, and let it ram into the building below totally blowing it up. beautiful game

I’m what u call a battlefield fanboy. I’ve probably played all battlefield games and yet i didn’t see the flaws of bfv until you pointed them out. I’m so used to dice and EA’s bullshit that i don’t even notice them anymore. All the bugs and net code issusies you pointed out have been in the franchise for i don’t even know how long. I’m starting to get real tired of dice and EA not fixing the bugs and not caring about their gamers. Thank you for showing how trash bfv is.

I like Battlefield 1 much more than Battlefield 5, even the Pacific theater doesn’t do anything, I like the Battlefield 1 operations more and I like to defend, defending in Battlefield 5 isn’t fun

I personally love battlefield 5. All it had to do for me was be better than battlefield 1. I am not a huge fan of battlefield I have only played 4, 1, and 5, but this is my favorite of them. I agree the campaigns are awful but I only play for multiplayer. You are right there is not a lot of content and I am not going to defend the "free" dlc model. The gunplay feels good with less recoil and spread from battlefield 1, it is no where near as spammy as Battlefield 1, the loading times were very short for me where in battlefield 1 it took 10 minutes and the game would break before I could join. The maps are not special, neither is customization, but I can play this game in bursts like other battlefields. For me it is just casual fun to play. I respect your opinion though Edit: I have had none of those problems that you had

I never enjoyed celeste. I mean as a person who was born in 2003, Minecraft was the best game of my childhood along with tf2. I never had a soft spot for 2d pixelated side scrollers with no voice acting and jump mechanics. Personally RDR2 in 2018 was the best game i have ever played, technically, which you did mention. I 100% it and played the story twice. It has the best writing in any video game i have ever played. But it does have bad mission design, which is fine its a wild west game, i didnt have a problem with it. Anyways good video.

I tried playing call of Cthulhu a couple of months ago and it sucks ass I got stuck in the village for 3 hours looking for a way into the mansion and had to look up a guide for what to do. I won’t lie though, I was really interested in the concept and wanted to know where the story went so I kept playing until eventually I just gave up near the end due to its repulsive gameplay.

I think the perfect way to describe the difference of just cause 3 vs just cause 4 is the begging. 3 starts with this fun cutscene and you riding on top of a plane with a rocket launcher. 4 starts with..... a bland generic cutscene about a story no one cares about. I got three hours into the game and got too bored I had to sell it.
