Yea but I’ve seen “Top 5 Lists” by them and if they don’t physically have the firearm, they put a stock photo in the corner and talk about it from there
Because the DDM4PDW Is basically a upgraded version of the Q Honey Badger. The Honey Badger is iconic being the first kind of consumer platform to release in .300 blk. It's like the PlayStation 1 to the PlayStation 5
@@TheGlitcher The DDM4PDW has a 1:7 instead a 1:5 twist, doesn't have an adjustable gas block and is over a pound heavier than the honey badger. How is that an upgrade?
I love this channel and the people that run it and bring us all this amazing content. I don’t like that they don’t fact check what they’re putting out there sometimes. Not that it’s like life or death important, but it’s just not cool to put the wrong information out there. 300 BLK ballistics do increase with a barrel longer than 10 inches. Mr gunsngear does an amazing job explain all this with evidence in one of his videos.
Yeah missing the mark on obvious information like that is pretty amateur. It's annoying they keep coming up in my search results even though I've set them to "Do not recommend."
Just had my 8.3" 300blk build and scorpion evo at my buddies and ran them with his hybrid 46 can. The 300 definitely puts an authoritative ring on the steel targets compared to the 4" 9mm of the scorpion. Both bring the smile factor when shooting suppressed. Bonus for the 300blk is that with 110gr supersonic is that is puts out between 1060-1126 ft-lbs with barnes tac-tx and Hornady black v-max.
@Brandon Wilson We ran both supers and subs through it. It didn't like the 200gr S&B subs, but it cycled fine with any brand 220gr subs. Subs are almost "Hollywood " quite, while supers could be shot without hearing pro. I ended up selling the 300blk through my shop to help fund my drum set.
@@TheGlitcher The original Honey Badger was developed specifically to optimize subsonic 300 blk by the man who developed the round for SOCOM. It was integrally suppressed and select-fire and unavailable to the public. Because the Honey Badger is not available to the public, it makes sense why it is not on the list. That being said, there is no other commercially available semi-auto firearm chambered in 300 blk that even comes close when compared to the Honey Badger! It is the king!! I just wish I could get my hands on one!!! :)
For the most part you are correct, although there are some specific subsonic loads for very short barrels with small amounts of fast burning powder that don’t gain in a 16” barrel But again, those are some very specific loads, not available commercially. So essentially you’re absolutely correct. 😉
I’m stuck with my BCM 16” upper due to being in Commifornia Lite (Hawai’i). I wish we could get AR pistols. Looking to move to Utah or another free state
300 black out was developed to have a comparable yet more reliable 7.62x39 in a AR15 platform and with the switch of a mag you move from that to a 230 grain subsonic basically a 45 acp comparable round to shoot supressed. So silent cqb to 300 yard effective fighting rifle with simply switching mags.
@@musicman1eanda I agree. I built a 10.5” 300BLK as a replacement for my 30-30 that’s never taken a whitetail over 50 yards. I figured 300BLK would make a good modular brush gun. I don’t have it suppressed yet, but when I do I’m going to put an SA adjustable gas block on it so switching between subs/supers will be quick and simple.
The Maxim Defense is dumb; you said it yourself that 300BLK was designed around suppression, and Maxim specifically says not to use suppressors on them. That's like making a race car and saying "don't take it over 50," sort of defeats the purpose.
I also don’t get why they make a 5.5“ barrel, this makes no sense. The only reason for a 300blk barrel shorter than 9“ is to attach a suppressor and still have a very compact rifle. Without a suppressor you have at least full powder burn in a 9“ barrel and it’s still very compact.
Its actually a myth that a 10 inch barrel gets full velocity out of 300 blackout because a 16 inch barrel has a good bit more velocity there are people who have tested it.. personally I wouldn't go any shorter than a 10.5 inch barrel
Choices are: Rattler canebreak .300 blackout, DDM4 PDW .300 blackout, and last but, not least, the kriss vector .45acp. Of the 3, I think I'd enjoy the rattler canebreak more for home defense, 🤔....... still deciding though.
@@InkwellFoto Thanks for that info, appreciated. (I'm trying to determine what suppressors the Protector will reliably run with subsonics, rather than just buying a can and hoping it will work with that pistol. Suppressors cost too much to gamble.)
PWS just posted on IG a 9.75” barrel has a velocity of 2264 fps, and a 16.1” barrel has a velocity of 2481 fps. I think the muzzle flash stops around 9”, but velocity still builds. I also have a 16” Adams Arms p2 300 bo upper with a Primary Arms ffp acss 300bo/7.62x39 scope that needs that length to be correct for the bdc.
Happy to see A DDM4 300 blackout on the list. It should have been at least number 2. We are DD Gun Owners. I have the MK18 and husband have the M4a1. And he wants the DDM4 S Pistol.
No Particular Order.. 1. Honey Badger.. 2. Sig Virtus.. 3. BCM 9" .. 4. ADM UIC MOD 2 8".. 5. DDM4 ISR .. 8" to 9" IMO is the best Barrel Length for 300B . I only own 1 300B and that's BCM 9"
The fostech tomcat lite should make this list. Incredible 300BLK pistol with a gen 2 binary installed from factory. Topped mine with a Trijicon 1-4 with a Surefire 300SPS. Holy wow it’s quiet and fun.
The 9 inch barrel length max burn is false. Depends on the powder used in the ammo and the amount some subsonic loads its close depending on powder but almost all supersonic loads get it in around the 16 inch mark just like a 7.62x39. Unlike a 5.56 witch needs more like 22 inches. 300blk uses magnum pistol powders is the main difference.
im debating on buying one tomorrow... u have no regrets? for the price i can wait on a daniel defense mk18 smh im torn. one in possession is better than none though
@@flawless1up umm..... the "Pof-usa renegade plus" is head and shoulders above anything Daniel Defense is putting out. I never trade my POF rifles for anything DD has, even if you threw cash in too. Unless your into clone rifles there is zero reason to pay DD prices on a basicly milspec gun. DD brings nothing special to the table, no innovation, no upgrades, nothing. Pof RenegadePlus is upgraded in every single part of the gun. There is no comparison. Imo.

Lmt and Kac make solid rifles, I own a lmt as well, and it is a good gun, I personally like my POF RIfles better, but that's just my person opinion. American defense manufacturing has a really nice lower receiver and I like that they get their barrels from criterion but other then that I don't know much about them.
10.5" will give full powder burn for subsonics but supersonics won't get full potential all the way up to a 16" barrel So that is why people prefer a longer barrel's
@@dakotadalsing3809 That’s still a more effective setup especially when accuracy comes to mind. More velocity also means more energy in travel which makes it hit harder as well.
Honey Badger should be on the list 100%. The Maxim is cool, but in my opinion it has no place on a top 5 .300 blk. From what I have heard from other YT channels, if you take the hate break off you void your warranty, so if you want to suppress the gun, your warranty is gone. RIP
Just like every other commenter, I found myself asking,"where's the Honey Badger? 🤨" . Then, I realized, Kevin will tell you himself, "The REAL heart of the Badger is in the barrel and the weight" . With that being said, I'd say the Sugar Weasel should be more of a mention then even the Honey Badger
Both are fantastic guns but some of these like the rattler and Daniel defense are just simply better and newer only super big pro of the og q honey badger would be its lighter then the new top competitors but that’s just my personal opinion. But I would take a rattler over the honey badger to be brutally honest
Everyone in the comments is Reee'ing about the Honey Badger not being on the list, and I'm screaming at my phone everytime Clint says that 300blk burns all its powder in 9-10 inches of barrel. Subsonic maybe, but for damn sure not the supers.
The 16" is "necessary" for hunting, longer range with more FPS and Foot Pounds of Energy!. See Mr. Guns and Gear for his barrel lengths and test charts!!!!. Great stuff.. Our shorter pistols are still great for 2 legged zombies at closer rangers..lol! It's still one of the best overall, do all cartridges period!....
I think it’d be cool to mix up some other activities with the shooting. DON’T 🛑 the giveaways though. Maybe some off-roading WHILE shooting, shooting from a zip line, gathering past winners to shoot with them and see them enjoy their guns... There are a few of my suggestions.
I like this channel but I’m sorry you can’t have a top5 300blk with out the gun it was invented on the honey badger. I have 2 it’s the best gun I own. Never had 1 malfunction ever and it’s so accurate and so easy to shoot and ridiculously quiet.
