I think you missed talking about the most interesting part of soul of windgrace. His ability to put lands in from the graveyard is from A graveyard. You can steal your opponents lands. So run a small land destruction package to put your opponents tastiest utility lands in the graveyard and then steal them.

I want you to know I did it Prof, I finally took the advice. I didn't necessarily buy the singles (not yet) but last night at the LGS they had boxes of DMU for $180. Someone else bought a box and was pulling cool stuff and I thought about all the cool stuff I could pull, the Stained Glass lands, the pain land reprints....the two Karn Living Legacy in the same pack >_> Ultimately, I told myself that whatever I wanted to get, I could just put that amount for the box towards the exact cards I need and, outside of one or two packs just to support the LGS, I didn't buy a box! And yeah, I didn't get the cards now or pull anything exciting but now instead I can get things like Imperial Seal, Concordant Crossroads, matching basics or a brand new stinkin deck! Keep saying it Prof, chances are this isn't the last time I will be tempted

My fav is definitely Lagomos. The guy does everything - makes a token every turn, death trigger every turn, he can even tutor! I haven't seen such powerhouse in Rakdos for a long time

Built a sheoldred deck around draw/burn as soon as I saw the spoiler, nearly finished getting the cards I need for the deck. Makes teferi’s puzzle box insane.

My favorite new legend is the new Tor Wauki. I've been wanting a good Rakdos spellslinger deck for a while, but you can also take him in a noncombat damage direction. I'm aiming for a little of both to really maximize his abilities.

I've spent this entire day working on a 50$ budget Ivy mutate tribal deck deck full of clones and other messed up quadratic scaling, so it's easy to say I'm excited for her

Elas Il-kor, Sadistic Pilgrim is probably my favorite from this set. you can build it as a Lurrus companion deck pretty easily.

I'm actually pretty excited to build a Tatyova, Steward of the Tides deck. The idea of building a deck entirely made up of lands, mana ramp, and Nissa plainswalkers sounds great to me.

Ever-changing Dane is the card that finally made me want to make my own commander deck.

I'm really excited for Nemata. Slimefoot is fun as a saproling commander, but I feel like Nemata would be a more fun commander for saprolings, if not necessarily a "better" one.

Braids looks really cool in both gameplay and the actual art and as someone casually played MTG as a kid with my brother its one of the few cards I distinctly remember so it's kind of awesome seen this modern reborn wraith form of her. Both the orignal and stained glass art version look really cool.

I am by far the most excited to play with Ratadrabik of Urborg, he has some fun legendary ETB and LTB shenanigans that he can pull off, especially in Orzhov colors.

I absolutely love Meria! She was in my prerelease kit, and even with just 4 artifacts in my deck, I managed to always get at least 2 of them, and started churning through my deck pretty efficiently. This alone got me excited to build a commander deck around her.

Looking forward to Tetsuo. Wanted an excuse to run all of the swords, and now my mad plan can begin! ... Right after I buy some proxies.

Surprising myself quite a bit, I kind of fell in love with the new Garna and Lagomos and all of their RB sacrifice abilities, not to mention Warlord's Frenzy because that kicker ability is so strong, not to mention how much of a great goal it is to try and get Lagomos' Demonic Tutor ability online.

Jasmine Boreal of the Seven, because my wife's name is Jasmine and the flavor text is her favorite part of magic. So with her at the helm of a commander deck there will be a whole bunch of flavor text on all those vanilla creatures.

Sunstone is also great in Soul of Windgrace decks since it lets you sacrifice snow lands to fog.

I keep looking at The Raven Man, and I don't know if it's because I really love the art, or the character, or what-not, but I really think he'd be a fun commander.

The new Jhoira has me excited, but Astor, Bearer of Blades has my interest given that he synergizes with vehicles as well as equipment. I'm lacking in both categories, save for whatever I acquired since coming back to the game with the initial Dominaria set.

I started work on a Meria deck as soon as she was spoiled - going to go the Equipment route. Tapping them for the mana to equip feels great.

The uncommon commanders in this set are pretty good too - new Tatyova is one I'm excited to build, but Balmor is also interesting (even if it's only an Adeliz variant), Elas il-Kor is just two great effects in the command zone, and Tor Wauki looks like a cool Rakdos spellslinger. Honestly they're a little more interesting to me than most of the rare/mythics in the set.

There's probably gonna be loads of Jodah decks floating around. However, I'd like to introduce you to my favorite Jodah build: Commander Tribal! (It's different from legend tribal I swear, just hear me out.) Pick your favorite archetype (tokens, artisocrats, artifacts, etc.), then add lands, ramp, card draw, removal, and payoffs that suit the theme. Those last 20-30 cards can be all your favorite commanders of the archetype you're playing, and that should do it! If there's too many options for legendaries and you just can't decide which ones to add, don't! Make a sideboard of every legendary you want to play, then blindly shuffle in however many you can before the game. This makes for wildly varied games and lets you test other commanders you haven't the opportunity to build!

Something you didn't mention about soul of windgrace, he can take lands from your opponent's graveyards too. So he would do well with wheels!

You left out Baru! A wurm tribal commander! :( It may not be the best one but it made my heart jump a beat. Finally a wurm commander!

shanna and zur both looks really fun to build, and have unique takes on pre-existing archetypes, so I'm hyped to craft for them both

If I were going to build JOdah (Which I am not) I would build him with all the backgrounds from Baulders gate because Cascading into Backgrounds and having them give jodah additional abilities sounds like a fun time.

My favorite is Jedit Ojanen, Mercenary. I love everything about the card, and can't wait to make a deck around it.

I am so excited for Ivy Mutate! I tried to build an Otrimi deck as a Mutate/Voltron deck but never ran that well. Usually ran into the same problem you mentioned in the vid, pretty easily removed. Having more targets for one spell/clone effects is gonna be real neat! Hopefully we'll head back to Ikoria at some point to get more mutate support!

Currently building Raff with the exact lines mentioned. Most people have been pretty down on him so it makes me happy to see him in your top 5.

My favorite this time is Stenn, Paranoid Partisan. That ability is very strong, you could also block each turn or survive board wipe easily.

I built a really fun Braids deck designed around summoning Phage (ala Lore). Turning one drop enchantments into Ancestral recalls makes her a really solid versatile commander.

Ratadrabik necromancy is the deck I'm most excited for. Making non legendary zombies out of your legends, then reviving the originals, it can lead to a lot of fun shenaniganerry for a surprisingly affordable curve.

Funnily enough I bought both Jodah and Ivy. I have no 5 colour deck (their mana base is brutal). But I like him as a character, and legendary tribal/cascade seems fun.

For the first time in a long time, I'm buying a precon (the new 5-color one) and I think I want to make the new Jodah my commander - if possible, I'd LOVE to see a deck tech from you on it! Also, thoughts on this house rule we're using in my playgroup - the new common lands that enter tapped but are the dual land types. We've decided that if a player doesn't already own an original ABUR dual in those colors, they can use the new lands and ignore the enters tapped part of the new card. (So you can't jam the new RB land and a Badlands in the same deck) - Obviously it's just kitchen-table commander and I'd swap out those lands for something else at a formal event but I think it'll be a great solution.

I'm so glad to see Ivy on here cause I think she's so neat, especially as a mutate/aura commander! But I'm also pretty excited about the janklord that is Rasputin as well as Hazezon.

I love Meria so much 😂 I do definitely intend to combo with her though, I’ll figure out a way to make it work

I actually pulled that new Windu card from my prerelease in that stained glass style! ~ I tried to get into magic around the time the Planeswalker version was released and I enjoyed it very much, but I struggled as a new player and dropped it until coming back all the way around New Capenna 🤣🤣

Loving your content as of recent prof, Just wanted to point out that Windgrace has kind of a cool thing that could work for discard too, as he allows you to play lands from "A" Graveyard, not necessarily yours.

An idea for a sketch from The Prof: Commanders from a set pitch themselves to you about what they bring to a table. Loadingreadyrun did it with the 5 Khans of Tarkir, and it was brilliant, and I think Prof with his many connections and friends could give it another go as well.

I started brewing a deck for Tetsuo, Imperial Champion as soon as he was spoiled. I preordered him and a couple other Dominaria cards for other decks. I’m just waiting on my Tetsuo deck to come in the mail, first Commander deck I’ve built ground up since Isshin, Two Heavens as One. I love samurai and will now have 4 decks related to samurai in some way. Also, I’m working on a Toshiro Umezawa deck as well. To say samurai are my favorite, is a bit of an understatement.

11:45 i literally just finished building and testing my Mutate & Copy deck with [Otrimi, the Ever-Playful] as the Commander and OH BOY that is FUN! I immediately added [Ivy, Gleelful Spellthief] and [Vesuvan Duplimancy] once Dominaria United got released and they are just a GREAT and fun add. With some tutors you can get the combo pretty quickly, add a Spawnwrithe and auto-copy stuff and you will have an army of self replicating hexproff/indestructible creatures with multiple Mutate triggers! I would link my decklist but I think that links would be automatically blocked, so you might just want to search for "Otrimi mutate & copy" on Archidekt. It is far from competitive and you will see a lot of limitations I intentionally put on the deck to keep it more casual friendly, but it is very very fun! :D I'm so glad you talked about the Mutate and Copy mechanic!

You already talked about Ivy which was my number 1, but I also really love Balmor. Izzet tokens is something that sounds like a ton of fun to try.

The most interesting aspect of Soul of Windgrace to me is you can grab lands from ANY graveyard. Mill people with Mesmeric Orb and steal Plains/Island cards from people to assemble Domain if you don't have a Dryad of the Ilysian Grove effect out, or just grab useful utility lands.

I’m so excited for Jodah, as I’d been meaning to remake my Captain Sisay legends tribal deck, and since so many new cards have come out in the years that I’ve had it it’s time for some major reworks, including going from GW to WUBRG, as in the interim I never switched to the newer MH1 Sisay. And rather than hope to open it in a pack, I bought the single!

I'm going to try out Jodah as the commander of my Superfriends deck which is currently led by Sisay, Weatherlight Captain. Sisay as commander is almost too strong for my playgroup being able to tutor whatever I want and having cascade on all my planeswalkers instead sounds pretty rad. Definitely interested in building Ivy as well.

Lagomos, Tatyova, and Ivy excite me the most. Lagomos is essentially Ball Lightning tribal with BLACK thrown in the mix, meaning we can lean in on funky black elementals like Mournwhelk, Cinderbones, and the classic Lightning Skelemental. Tatyova and Ivy are exciting not just because they have fun mechanics built in, but because they feel like Wizards finally remembered that Simic is the color combo of really weird creatures and spell interactions, rather than just draw a card and play a land.

Shanna, Purifying Blade. One of the first legendary creatures I opened on Arena, saving me a wildcard, and one I had already planned on building in paper. The pure value she provides, as well as the shell her colors allow, has proven to be incredibly good on Arena. I often have a huge board of nontoken and token angels, as well as many huge (thanks to lifegain and +1/+1 counter shenanigans) value creatures, such as Titan of Industry. I have few, if any, blue mana pips anywhere in the deck other than Shanna herself, but I don't feel it's needed. She has shown up and shown up well. I've had games with 150 life (against a Heliod deck which was also gaining life) and games with dozens of tokens (Oketra's Monument, the multiple angel-creating cards). Shanna is value. Also, I am 3-0 against Heliod lifegain decks, so, it seems Shanna is the superior lifegain commander.

fun little things to consider for a Jodah deck: mirror gallery, mirror box, and Leyline of Singularity. with the legend rule not applying you can use some strong non-legendary creatures and token producers to build some massive and powerful armies.

Thanks for all these videos. MTG really is the chess of this era. So many fantastic content creators have helped many people embrace the love of the game. I decided to start a channel after seeing how badly the market is treating the value of this set. There are so many good cards, and I for one was skeptical until I saw them first hand. I was so frustrated after spending so much time doing market analysis over why the cards are undervalued, I decided to create a channel and talk about just that. Hopefully someday soon I will have the same editorial and content creation quality as The Professor does. But, I don't know if I'll ever be able to match his lovability.

I think Astor, Bearer of Blades is gonna be a really cool commander with all the new Boros Equipment Creatures from Kamigawa. You can fill your deck with equipment, and since a lot of them are also creatures, you’re not going to be stuck with just a bunch of equipment hanging around with no creatures to attach them to. Or you can just go full voltron.

I play a lot on Arena, I immediately threw together a Jhoira deck because I thought it would be a fun gimmick. Soul of Windgrace was actually my promo card from Pre-release and I definitely used it. Didn't realize it stated /A/ Graveyard. . .I may actually have to decide to play land destruction when I build a deck for it. It makes me a little salty since I would love to use it with the Gitrog Monster. . .but I gave my single copy of the frog to my younger sister saying I would never use it because at the time I no cards to build around it. . . that isn't the case anymore, I may need to go find a copy. I wanna use Urg with him. And yes. . .already planning on building a Jodah deck. . .that requires dragging open my Legendary binder and crying as I try and bring it down to 99 cards.

I had 4 commanders in mind since the second I saw them. Ivy, Rona, Greensleeves and Elas il Kor. Also, once again, just watching The Professor be happy is a joy.

There are so many great options for lands in EDH professor! Omnath (both Gruul and Inktreader) are pretty good lands commanders. Titania, Protector of Argoth is a decent mono green. Beyond that we have Phylaf. Nissa, Who Plus Ones when you play a land, Obuun, Ob Nixilis the fallen, and the monored combat step commmander moraug. Aesi is another rung down, with ashaya. A fun sleeper lands commander imho is Faldorn, or Gretchen from STX. Hope everyone is hitting those land drops!

True story, I run a pretty heavy land theme in Korvold... Orcish Lumberjack, Zuran Orb, Scapeshift, Worldshaper, Crucible of Worlds etc... works great for the sac triggers.
