Low tier France is literally a filter. Most that remains becomes a monster. I mean, they single handedly uprank just about every single tank in the tech tree that has autoloaders. Rip Batchat

Su-5-1 is one of my favourite tanks, it's abolutely insane. Only 8 shots? Who cares, 8 shots 8 kills

Su-5-1 survivability is Op, eats 4 or 5 shots before dying while most tanks at the BR can only tank 1 or 2, the gun is super duper op, but the speed.... Oh man the speed..... This thing is so slow it's just painful to play

The I Go Ko used to have 90mm of pen on the HEAT shell and it was very overpowered

There is one thing you forgot to mention, APCR doesn’t do anything if it goes against any sort of angled armor, making its pen even worse because all armor is angled.

putting the Su-5-1 on here without mentioning the italian 90mm tractor with exactly the same ammo count? aight

If the T-95 was at the Normandy landings & drove all the way to the Siegfried Line under its own power where it was designed to fight, and not combust into a fireball like one of them did at the testing grounds then the war would have already ended. (The T95 had two Cadillac V8 engines, which together only produced around 500 horsepower.. 💀)

When I played the I go, the heat round is the best round to use

I’ve had games with the Petard where I’ve got 13 kills and multiple assists by pushing up on a point in a close area (which yeah means if you get a bad map it’s just not going to work) and just being an aggressive little demon. If you position well and stay near cover and allow you to push you can get some pretty good games

Archer is kinda OP with a 17pdr at tier 2. With the right map (Tunesia) it's a UK win from the start.

As a soviet main, my absolute worst would be the IS series, maybe just the IS-1 and 2, IS-1 is completely pointless, might as well use the T-34 literally beside it. And then there's the IS-2 that acts more like a tank destroyer. The IS-3 is fine until you get uptiered.

At least the FCM 36 has APCR now. When first introduced it had an APHE with a fuse sensitivity greater than its penetration...

I take it you don't have the "Wake Me Up Before You Ro-Go" as I would argue that is arguably worse than the I-Go as not only does it have two terrible guns with horrible drop, pathetic armor, is slow AF, and a CAS magnet due to its large easy to hit silhouette, but Gaijin actually expects you to PAY nearly 1400 GE to drive that POS.

The FCM 36 and the Type 89 Medium are two of my favorite tanks from history, despite how bad they are in War Thunder. In World of Tanks the Type 89 is actually pretty good since it gets a blistering rate of fire combined with an HE shell that, while it struggles to do consistent damage against armored targets, melts anything it can penetrate.

I have been able to make a few critical hits and the occasional "target destroyed" with the FCM.36. I will admit, though, it's a steep uphill battle. I am currently playing it to see how good it can get with time.

I think Tortoise might be worse than the T95

To add onto the FCM.36, APCR is also an incredibly singular use kind of round. It is ONLY used for penning very thick flat armor at relatively close range. It's basically an APDS that doesn't shed the sabot once it leaves the barrel, so it not only loses that penetration advantage at longer distances, but it also usually has worse pen against angled armor too. There are also a few guns that use APCR where it is just straight up worse than the APHE shells it can use like the ASU-57 or T-44-100.

Honestly this whole list could've been filled solely by French tanks.

tbh france is hell in reserve tier but once u get to the 1.3s angling helps alot, and once u get to the 2c u basically become your teams flagship (2c is basically a landship with insane survivability)

The type 60 ATM will remain on my number one spot because this thing just gave me depressione when i tried acing it but never succeeding at it...

I used to have the French B1 tank as a starter, and I found it pretty good. Not really fast, but highly survivable in most cases.

Bad vehicles to consider aswell are the Csaba, L3/33, Type 75 MLRS, LOSAT, Tortoise, Any British vehicle that uses APDS as its main shell, Ha-Go, Chi-Ha, Ke-Ni, M15/42, AMD.35 (SA35), Chi-Ha LG, Dicker Max, Sturer Emil, Waffentrager, Nashorn, Sd.Kfz.221 (s.Pz.B.41), Panzer III B, Ratel 20, Swingfire, Warrior, Type 60 ATM, Type 93, OTOMATIC, L6/40, LVT (A)(4) (ZIS-2), M2A2, M551 Sheridan, T-26-4, BM-8-24, KV-2 (Both 1939 and 1940 variants), M728 CEV, FV4005, IT-1, IS-2, Su-122-54, HSTV-L, AMR.35, AMC.34 YR, H.35, AuF1, AMX-10M, Char 25t, C13 T90, Pbv 301, and finally the Pvlvv fm/42. Gee that was a lot

I got 11 kills 0 deaths in petard by literally just driving up to people and barely angling. Then just derping them in the face. Only works on city maps.

I'm surprised that the italian's 90/53 is not mentioned, since it's also carries a max load of 8 shells and has half its gunner/loader crew exposed in the back. But i do enjoy using the 90/53 and ironically, it can survive quite well if you're not facing experienced players.

People make fun of Italy for their m13 tanks but I’m happy in my m13 seeing that the type 89 WWI looking ahh tank can’t even destroy rank 1 tanks.

Shut up! The FCM36 is great! I was able to upper-front-plate a King Tiger with it! I was able to blow through the turret cheeks of a T-90M! Clearly you aren't an expert.

Bro has never heard of playing defensively, archer(and other casemates imo) is pretty decent when you set up shop and wait for the enemies to come to you

Low tier France is actually fun, I liked the Hotchkiss tanks - decently fast, decently powerful gun, stupidly well armored. The tank destroyers were really good too. The quad heavy machine gun half-track AA? it can kill anything in it's BR. Except the FCM. yeah, that conehead just kinda sucks. Looking forward to playing the AMX 13.

I parked on top of the hill overlooking the enemy spawn on Factory in my T95 and got about 5, 6 kills in it and locked the area down. I somehow survived even with losing my tracks and barrel multiple times. Ended with half my time appearing behind me to support me. It was glorious

To add to the T95 experience, you can pretty much one shot it trough the cupola. Once I got it, I was quite excited to finally be immortal, only to drive my stock POS tutel to the battlefield for 3-5 bussines days only to get frontally one shot by a Tiger 2... And after a few games of getting barrel shot, tracked, cupola'ed and CAS'ed the very instant I see an enemy, I've never gone back to it. It is beyond frustrating.

I've seen the PETARDs being used excellently As battering rams in closer-quarters situations

I like the addition of more funny edits and what not. Videos are getting better. Id say one of the worst tanks in war thunder is the PVKV IV. "oH bUT iT hAs GoOd pEn ughhhhhh". So? its lowtier APDS which sucks. Horrible turret treverse, not very good mobility and no armor.

Fun fact: Gajian removed the FCM 36 from the game. But due to public outcry, they added it back in

It’s always funny when I see my personal favorites on lists like these. This time it’s the AVRE & Archer. Part of this is down to the fact I play arcade where both vehicles get huge advantages. The Archer is much faster allowing for “pistol-whip” shots and knowing where enemy are via map view allows you to plan engagements ahead of time. The AVRE gets to see the exact range of targets all the time helping you not engage something out of range and actually hit your shots and the vehicle itself is faster in acceleration. As for the barrel kill I haven’t had that happen yet because either it’s empty because I’ve just fired or it’s facing 30 degrees away from targets where the Churchill’s turret is strongest and the barrel will stop the shell from going off.

Petard being on this list is a major skill issue

Rounding a corner and seeing a T95 already looking at you is pretty terrifying.

Although the doom turtle may arrive late to battle, I’ve found that bushes are extremely effective in increasing your survivability. And the gun is just, perfection!

If I start playing on the tank tiers, I’m gonna use all of these tanks.

The FCM 36 along with the H.35 used to have APHE rounds that were so trash that Gaijin just removed it at some point

I don't need to finish my list, because my friend lets me know that the five worst tanks are my lineup. (Except when he bottom frags, then they are cheater cheap tanks)

The Archer is awkward to use at first glance, but consider that all British tanks have a terrible reverse speed. Being able to shoot and retreat at full speed is a godsend. Next, you don’t want to rush in a tank destroyer anyway, so the slow reverse as a forward means you have to plan and strategize. Which is how you should play TD’s to begin with. Finally, that massive engine up front means decent survivability. You might not be able to move, but the massive 17 pounder is more than enough to win any slugging match

I disagree with #4. When playing Soviet BR 1.0, it is the most fun and usually gets the most kills. Yes, only 8 shots, but that's enough to one-shot several enemies before respawning into something more mobile to mop up the rest.

The su5 may have little ammo storage. But it’s really easy to get kills with and most of the time u may die at the 4-6 kill mark anyway

Like you said, the Su-5-1 is literally at 1.0, you're playing with newbies. Or well, lvl100's. But mostly newbies. Effective against their blind WoT ass

I remember the original french reserve tanks. They mounted the gun and ammunition of the Renault Ft. 12mm Pen APHE. They took that ammo and removed it, and that tank I think, and made the FCM the reserve instead, and gave it APCR to compensate.

As an Italy main who has also spaded all of the vehicles I can on this list (just leave out the T95 and Petard), I enjoyed playing them, even though I 100% agree with why they're bottom 5. Tier 1 France and Italy still have been some of my best experiences in this game though

I Go Ko is good in Arcade mode when you can loft shots onto people. It comes into its own as a fun tank

I would add that the problem with the T95 is that mos of the time you play against heat fs and missiles

The only time you die to reserve tier French tanks is when you're a SPAA or a Tank destroyer ( 1.0 mostly open top with little to no amour at all )

The T95 now suffers from the cupola shots from guns bigger than 57mm. Anyone firing APHE will have the shell fuse on the cupola and either knock out 2 crew, ammo rack, or both.

kv-1 (zis-5) should take the #2 spot. you are slower than the 1.0 lower KVs, uptierd a LOT, have the low pen APHE shell (cant pen anything) and the "addon armour" can still be easily penetrated thru for many things at its br (4.7) (its only on the hull) and besides most ppl aim for your turret which is even easier to pen. turret traverse and reload are bad too btw

The Pandhard 178 on the other hand makes france not the worst starting line as its one of the best armored cars early game

I personally love the FCM-36 it is often I go back to reserve and 1.0 for France simply because the armour actually works. Now yes you do have to be careful as to what you encounter, and you have to stay near a friendly because the French cannons are shooting unbaked baguettes, but if you angle the tanks the right way you can bounce quite a few of the shells (Not the HEAT ones though, you just perish to those.) Keep in mind it is 1.0 many players don’t yet know weakspots and just shoot the front plate. I can not say how many times I angled the FCM just for players to shoot the front plate several times instead of the flat plate facing them. Serves as a good distraction for your teamates to roll up and actually pen stuff. (If they do ever roll up that is, might as well roll a dice every one and a while to see.)

My friends were playing 5.0 Japan and since I haven’t grinded the Japanese tech tree, I had to use the I-Go Ko. It went to absolute shit accept for a Concept 3 kill with the HEAT round. 10/10 experience

the su-5 was meant to be used as a field gun that could relocate. It is intended to carry a trailer full of ammo in-game it is quite a joke

I think that the petard is a compelling argument that flamethrower tanks would be viable and justifiable.
