AEC, ERF, BRISTOL, DAMLER, DODGE, LEYLAND DAF, THORNCROFT, ALBION, COMMER, DENNIS, GUY, ATKINSON, SEDDON, SENTINEL, that’s just the U.K., I’m sure I’ve missed some.

you didn't look to Austria ... ÖAF and Steyr brands existed ... However, Steyr is still used for the construction of special trucks in the MAN Group.

True. But failled to look for alliances after WW2 (e.g. MAN) Was doomed, after the protective Swiss market was broken up by European trade laws in the 60s).

Many different manufacturers left out of this list from different countries. White Motor Corp. U.S.A., Ralph Trucks of So. Africa, Hayes, Pacific, Sicard, Rubber Railway of Canada, etc. The list is endless with many companies being bought out by competitors and then ending their production. Many of the parent compan- ies went through financial crisis of their own, and had to divest to survive and reorganize. Ex- ample( I-H) of the U.S.A. now Navi - star once owned Pacific( Canada), Seddon-Atkinson (Great Britain) part of DAF Trucks, ( Netherlands), Pegaso( Spain) that were sold off to other companies.

How you can forget the oldest truck manufacturer which exist still and make very special vehicles for military, agricultural and special vehicles. Tatra is is one of the best.

Tatra are still around fortunately, they use the DAF cab but have not lost their own way of doing things

@@Rammstein56 Some Tatra models use Daf cabs, but military or firefighters truck are Tatra made. Similar situation is with engines, you can choose american engine or air cooled from Tatra, depend which market.

What about Studebaker. The only manufacturer to make the successful transition from Horse Drawn Wagon maker to cars and trucks. They celebrated there Hundredth anniversary in 1952. During the second world war they provided so many trucks to the Russians that for a while the Russian word for truck was "Studebaker". Oh yeah what about Mac, and White, and Kenworth and Freightliner?

Ever hear of the band "REO Speed Wagon"? Or the country band "Diamond Reo" which was named for the truck that came about when Diamond T merged with Reo ?

They forgot Chevrolet Bruin Bison and Titan 90 & GMC Brigidier General and Astro and White road motors and Ford they used to make heavy duty trucks and semi trucks

You're thinking about ERF which was started by Edwin R. Foden after he split from the Foden company in the thirties, ERA (English Racing Automobiles), formed by Raymond Mays built racing cars.
