Missed the best joke. Hank trying to explain that the trailer was just tipped over not destroyed then demonstrating it with a can and she still doesn't get it
You don't understand Hank and Peggy's dynamic if you think Hank telling Peggy to go to Hell isn't a big deal. Hanks round about way of saying it and Peggy's reaction say it all. Hank has never said something like that to her, it's a big deal. And then he realizes the very real fact that those might be the last words he ever says to his wife. It's a big deal.
Yeah, Hank’s treatment of Luanne bugged me. I don’t know, it felt like for a while his relationship with Luanne was one of those one step forward two steps back kind of things. Like, I suppose in a way it’s fitting with how emotionally constipated Hank can be, but I’m glad they managed to write their relationship a little more consistently as the series went on. Even if they did Flanderize Luanne as the series went on, which is unfortunate. Also Gaping Pickle Palace would be a good name for a restaurant…or a male strip club. Or a combination of the two. 😂
@@HughAverageHomoManIt either feels like the episodes are in the wrong seasons in the wrong order, they used an unmade Season 1 script for Season 2 but didn’t rewrite it to line up with the developments made since the first season including Hank declaring her as family or they Armor of God’ed these two Luanne episodes with Season 1’s Luanne episode being the conclusion while this Season 2 episode being the kickstarter to that other episode.
The trailer was tipped over so the structure was deemed unsafe to enter and retrieve the evidence. The doctor in the emergency room confirmed that the puncture wound was from a fork due to the 4 holes. Plus Leeann was drunk at the time of arrest and bragged that she stabbed him with a fork
What's the worst thing he's ever done? He only brings up his religion or background as an Appalachian anytime he talks about a religion/cult/culture that differs from his own beliefs, background or morals as to inform his viewers that his perspective is not as an insider but as a "drunk uncle perspective."It's refreshing, he never claims his perspective is the RIGHT perspective, just his. Just binged his 411 Horror stories, and then watched the horror raft video.
Hank’s dynamic is interesting. As a man who exposes traditional values, you would think he would be more appreciative of Luanne’s need for a good male role model in her life. But he awkwardness with Human contact makes to he can barely be emotionally support for his own flesh and blood. I think he’s role as her surrogate father is best shown in the deleted scene from her wedding episode. Where he seems almost emotional at the idea what she went from taking up his den to married with a kid on the way.
This episode is honestly my favorite episode. From hank telling peggy to go to hell, to nancy leaving dale a carton of cigarettes for dinner so she can film the tornado or get in on the damage reports, the relationship between hank and Luanne to the tornado itself. This episode is purely KOTH. I honestly can’t think of a better episode that purely encapsulates everything that is KOTH.
Also, a trailer park is all fine and dandy until a tornado is spawned nearby and you’re basically fucked. No where to go for shelter, literally losing all your belongings. Most people who die in tornadoes die in trailer parks and recreation vehicles. It’s best to know the area. If you’re anywhere thats prone to tornadoes frequently through the year, like texas or kansas. Then a trailer park is probably not a great option. Where i live id take a basement apartment over a trailer park. At least i can just go to the bathroom in the basement and be safe from most tornadoes. Once you get into EF-3+ youre kind of just fucked either way regardless of where you live.
The thing that made Hank's behavior, despite him being more awkward than anything else when he tried to speak to Luanne, so uncomfortable is that not only does Luanne live so FAR from the Hills she would have been ALONE in that trailer. Luanne is ditzy but she thrived so much better when she had a family unit. It's clear she's closer to Peggy than Hank but after everything she's gone through the last thing Luanne needed was to be isolated from the most loving people she's ever been around.
First of all: Love the Gusty Garden Galaxy music during Hank the Tank in the Tornado sequence. Second of all: as someone that was raised in Texas but lived in California for a collective of 5 years, I will say I definitely fear the tornadoes more. I lived through the Forth Worth tornado in 2000. The fact that this episode depicts people scrambling in a store when a twister is on the way just screams that the writers have never lived in Tornado Alley. If we're told there's a tornado coming, you bet your buns we're hunkering down, not going out to buy toilet paper 🤣
I was a child when I used to watch King of the Hill. I remember seeing this episode with my mom. The point when Hank is clinging to that pole is so terrifying, especially when you're a kid & don't yet know he has Main Character Armor. I'm thankful I didn't watch this episode on my own or I would have been much more afraid for all of them.
As somebody who lives in a good RV park, it can be a lovely place. Most of the people who live there full time are super friendly and helpful. It has a real sense of community. And when tourists and travelers rotate, you have chances to make new important relationships. It's not always great for people with paralyzing social anxiety, but it can be good exposure therapy. Be nice to trailer park residents. Most of us are just normal people trying to live in a world where rent prices are too damn high.
Thankfully, where I live tornados don’t come around. Knock on wood. It’s apparently due to the city being between two rivers and that has a hand in preventing tornados from coming towards where I live.
Where I live in Canada is where “Tornado Alley” typically starts. Living in Ca. I live there for 6 years, and through droughts, forest fires and earthquakes, every place has some issues, now I deal with tornadoes, and throughout my life I’ve been through a blizzard in every month of the year here in Canada too!
Fun fact, Hank has not only withstood a tornado, he's also ripped through a fence that was supposed too contained debris from race car debris too save Bobby, punked out Debbie Graun, showed hippies how actual capitalism benefits them while still respecting their intention's, got up on an actual moving tank too save Bill from himself, etc. He's a giaga chad
Nothing he just a classic online atheist who can't stand the mention of God, and thinks that since he is a Christian hes trying to convert everyone all the time.
I am so excited to watch this video, it's my favourite episode ever. We never used to get tornado warnings but now we do have them a couple of times per summer. The first time of the year. I usually go straight to my basement to watch this episode :D
I think the dig at wendigoon was uncalled for, I've seen his vids and while he himself is admittedly a Christian I don't get the vibe that he is fire and brimstoning his audience.
People who don't watch uncle Wendigoon sometime think he shells christianity because he covered a lot of bible related topics. Makes you think what these people think when they see a muslim.
@@ianb.2575 As a gay agnostic dude I disagree. It's a tool, no more evil than music or anything else of cultural identity. It can be used as an excuse for evil, but it doesn't intrinsically mean someone is bad if they partake of something that you personally do not. I hope one day you too can see the error of thinking something so divisive, and perhaps look to see the good in things that you disagree with like Hank Hill managed to do in this show.
@@joshuabryant9845 to these people even saying you're a Christian is Bible thumping. It's the only "criticism" they can conjure because he keeps his nose clean, so gotta come up with some way to hate the Christian guy. Wonder how they'd treat him if he was Jewish or Muslim. Wouldn't want to be a bigot and attack those religions.
I don't get it. I'm an atheist and I've never once got the impression Wendigoon ever partook in Christian Doom Saying... like, at all. I've seen all his videos and I feel like that would have stuck out to me.
@@alam4359 prior Boogaloo videos and posts. I have not checked in a while though after seeing them a year ago. No idea if he took them down due to getting more popular.
I get some weird vibes from him politically, after all he’s an appalachian boy. perhaps it’s just me being jewish and unable to see christianity as anything besides bizarro judaism
@@UberPlaysGames I can totally see that lmao. I was reading about how he used to have a boogaloo type username and referred to trans people as trannies but hopefully that seems more of the late 2010s edgelord type versus actual transphobe and racist but stranger things have happened with online personalities lmao he could def be 110% full on nazi
FYI, as this episode was released in 1997 and the Enhanced Fujita scale would not be in effect until 1 February 2007, this would have been an F3 tornado and not and EF-3 tornado so the range of wind speeds would have been 158 - 206 MPH and not the updated 136 - 165 MPH.
Dragon Ball Z fan here. I'm not one to scale power levels but you are right in Goku not being to handle propane nor propane accessories. However Hank really needs to worry about Grill Master Piccolo. Especially since he uses charcoal. (I am not making this up.)
Bugs me that Hank doesn’t keep a pair of coveralls in his truck, totally ruins the blue collar vibe-next thing we’ll find out he’s got a master’s degree in anthropology
Show me literally one example of wendigoon trying to give people subliminal messages of christianity. He's very open about his beliefs and is always very clear that he doesnt wish to push them on anyone. He's also incredibly kind with everybody he interacts with, smh if anybodys an asshole its you for taking shots at the internets biggest sweetheart
twitter.com/Wendigoon8/status/1565592761318998017?lang=en Right, he's totally not hoping people will convert from his content. Totally not. But at least he's not following/invested in anyone problematic either...oh. twitter.com/Wendigoon8/status/1461762096589422596 64.media.tumblr.com/cf71d18b7bae87e056c71c0567ec390a/b4237ee978fa4df2-49/s1280x1920/f04c59511a8bcee5751448f764141321ed2b2c77.jpg And believe me, I know I'm an asshole. But I don't produce content with the intent of wrangling people into religious content (his Sunday Studies videos are pretty obvious about his preaching intents). I just wish he would be honest with his audience and just be a Christian youtuber, instead of bringing people into the fold with horror/conspiracy/monster content.
@@Reviewed2Death "I wish he wouldn't make interesting content" It's really cool that you think Christians can only make Christian content and can't possibly be interested in anything else.
Made up hate mobbing lol "Person I disagree with religiously doesn't have any real controversies other than being a Christian, so let's call him a 'Doomsayer'" Just your average, disingenuous day on the internet
I never seen a tornado in real life ethier,I know tornadoes can happen anywhere,at any time and in any season,so even though I've never seen a tornado,I'm still fully aware it can happen,I'm horrified by thunderstorms enough as it is though,I don't need to be scared for life,I'll enjoy it on tv,which is why I miss storm stories
14:55 It bugged me when they did that in “Twister” too, I haven’t seen the movie in years, but if I recall they survive holding on to like a pipe or something, as an F5, the biggest tornado seen as of that point in the film, and we’d seen that lesser strength tornadoes easily plucked up cows, trucks etc, and even uprooted trees. YET, we’re somehow supposed to believe that two people could hang on to a little piece of metal, that I can’t even remember what it was attached to, WITHOUT also getting their arms ripped off?!? Gee, I really hope someone got fired for that blunder! *Studio Executive:* “When you see something like that, a wizard did it.” *Me:* “But in the scene whe-…” *Exec:* “Wizard!” PS- Nice Zelda references!👍🏻 Been loving Tears Of The Kingdom so far. Done the story and now just finishing up the side quests, and exploring more of the world (so much to see with the sky/depths), before going to finally take on Ganondorf.
@@masonschwalm2010 fair enough. I'm not saying its super accurate or anything just that what the characters do does make some sense and they had to try something. Makes for an exciting climax to a pretty good movie
@@rosemartasgaminghoard agreed. I was only like 8 or 9 when I saw it, and I’m 36 now, but overall I thought that it was a pretty good movie, even though it gave me a fear of tornadoes for the rest of my childhood. 😂 🌪️
Is anyone else a bit more disturbed by how Bobby doesn't seem concerned for his mother and cousin. He found a situation funny. I know Bobby's a kid but. Is He old enough to understand the danger and he even said that it's hell but he's still doesn't fear for his mother going to hell.
Since both kinnikuman and koth are getting a revival, I wonder what an interaction between Hank and Terryman would be like. Animes most famous texan meets cartoons most famous texan
Me again! I just remembered something that doesn't make sense when you first watch it (and have the DVD set), there's a scapped gag when Nancy is reporting in front the National Guard Armory. The guy in the blue suit is a doomsayer and in the scrapped gag he accosts Hank and tells him about the salvation of religion (or something, it's been a while since I watched that particular clip)
He likes to bring up Christianity/his Christian beliefs a lot, even when it's not related to what he's talking about. At least, this was the case about a year ago. I found him, binged a couple videos, and got turned off when I couldn't unhear the bible-thumping.
@@CruzaComplexhe’s not a Bible thumper though. He was/is literally a Sunday school teacher, so his religion clearly means a lot to him. Even then, he’s far from being someone who thinks that everyone’s religion is wrong but his.
@@HughAverageHomoMan I didn’t say Christianity as a whole, now did I? I’m just speaking of Wendigoon, here. Not every Christian is a malignant asshole. And just for the record, I’m not a Christian.
@@SplendidCoffee0 never once said you were christian, and I wouldn't care either way. and I wasn't talking about modern christians either because i'm talking the historical fact that Christians used their religion as an excuse/tool to brutalize and torment other cultures while enforcing their beliefs as the one "true" system. and that is why it survived into modern day. other groups also did this but they are the most prominent and obvious example considering how successful they were at doing it.
Just wanted to say I love your review style and hope you keep growing. Don't forget to pace yourself and rest! I'll be here every time you upload even if I don't always comment lol.
Unrelated: I love that a good portion of this video has KH Island music and I am currently re playing KH lol! what a coinki-dink. Related: This episode had me dying when Hank was not being obliterated by a tornado, but everything around him was.
