Wow! A fascinating look at Morecambe with many of its former attractions and heritage aspects still in situ. There's even the big wheel in the background! Fabulous! :-)

Interesting, a touch of nostalgia!

Good old Morecambe .went at least once s year from 1972 onwards.great memories and I have to give special thanks to the prom ....I met my hubby there in 1987.x

Sadly the Winter Gardens was closed by the time this was filmed as it closed in 1977 but it's great to see Morecambe as it used to be then with 80% of its attractions still intact! I say that because the West End Pier had been damaged also in 1977!

Thanks, Pier gone, big wheel gone, Winter Gardens hanging on just, but adjacent Ballroom gone. Fun fair gone, Illuminations gone, Clock Tower still not working, Queens Hotel all boarded up. On the plus side we have Happy mount park back and no more Blobby land, Midland hotel back to its former glory, beautiful sea wall and 6 mile prom. Despite all the above,Morecambe is now a very nice place, and improving all the time, the prom and the views across the bay are brilliant, and in summer the crowds are out enjoying themselves. We now need the Eden project. We do not want to be a mini Blackpool.

I'm guessing that Woolworths at 0:23 is the one that was on Euston Road as it doesn't look like the one on the promenade!
